  • Sadley you cannot see Jupiter. I was on Jupiter that day as QE2 arrived. I had just went over to Dunoon to view her. The magic you felt coming over on her. It was nice to see so many boats out to see the lady. I am only young so I wasn't there to see the Caledonia, the Duchess's, the Waverley when she wasn't the last going sea paddle steamer in the world. I wish I was there but truely I am proud to be Scottish watching the QE2. A great video anyway!

  • was at the launching when i was wee boy as my dad worked on her so we kids got a free ticket

  • Great Vid..just so Sad she'll be the LAST of the Clyde built Queens. France eh? Should have called them the Marie Antonets. British Queens should be built on the Clyde.

  • Very nice video; brilliantly put together and a great choice of music. Very fitting for the day!

  • We'll never see her like again. What a gorgeous day and place to say goodbye, though.

Nice video and great choice of music.

  • Lovely video Joe . I read that when she gets to Dubail her funnel is to be removed ...Thanks again

  • wonderful, wonderful, well done. beautifully shot and put together. What a sad yet triumphant day for the most successful ship of all time. I kept wishing she was coming home to stay for good, but that was just a pipe-dream...

I was there, on board Balmoral coming with her. Will never forget it.

  • We took our jetski's out amongst the crazyness, was mahem on the water, sad to see her go :(

  • Thanks for sharing Joe; the grand lady seems to be quite a celeb in your part of the world!

  • Aye. A few of us are old enough and proud of what the River Clyde used to be famous for. It made the day all the sadder to be reminded. But I'm chuffed at the response this quick little video has got, maybe there is still plenty of pride left :) Thanks all for the comments!

  • the bit of the film at 1 min 10 is just fab !

  • i was on the cal-mac next to her it was a fantastic day. saw her leave tonight with great sadness.

    thanks for the memories

  • I couldn't make it to Greenock today, so am sitting here with the box of Kleenex saying Goodbye to the Old Girl - was on her in 1967 when I was a wee lassie (daddy worked in "The Yard") and its so hard now to see her go...

    Great Vid.

    Weechookie, Clydebank.

  • What a fantastic day! I was lucky enough to be in a wee boat that kept her company off her starboard side all the way up from Little Cumbrae to Gourock. Scotland looked at her very best for the great ship's last visit. Btw - like your choice of music too! EricH

  • She's leaving Greenock now, I'm listening to her...sad day, god speed.

  • Lovely film. And werent we lucky with the weather - it was about the only sunny day of the year !

  • Beautiful ship, beautiful place, beautiful film. Thank you.

  • Glad she arrived today and not yesterday. It pure pishin' doon at the time.

  • Lovely and well done, I live down the coast in Ayr, went to the beach this morning armed with camera ect and missed her by 10 mins !

  • It was good to be there today at Greenock and watch the QE2 sail in, but sad to know this is her final visit home.

    Bon Voyage, QE2..

  • What a wonderful piece of film for all us that wanted to be there but couldn't!
