@DonMiguel1810 yes but at the time Mexico was divided and the conservatives wanted to sell the land because we were bankrupt from former wars with Spain and France while the Liberals didnt want to sell it then a civil war broke out in Mexico D.F while Santa Anna was at war with the U.S santa was forced to pull out the soldiers and go and restore order in Mexico City and by that time the U.S had regrouped and it was too late we had no funds so we had no choice but to sell it...

However, yeah, burning the flag is a stupid thing to do, no matter what (its an act of war. I wouldn't agree that they are a drain our society. One could also say that many business people of this nation are getting huge amounts of money due to their illegal employees.
