im just wondering..what kind of shcooling does it take to become a train engineer? i been watching alot of train videos lately and am really interested in becoming a engineer!
NS has their own school in McDonough Ga. where they train conductors to become locomotive engineers. The course last about a month and then it is followed by 6 to 12 months of training on your division.
The power had to be spun at CP Tulp and CP Leisey because former Southern SD60's are not cab signal equipped; therefore, they cannot lead west of Harrisburg on the Pittsburgh Line. It's a shame they couldn't let the SD60 lead, it would have sounded nice. I hate Dash-9's, too many of them.
@o00o00ozy, there aren't any true former Southern SD60's...all of them were bought after the NS merger. Dash-9's are good engines....damn good engines.
NS crews are under a lot of intense and continuous scrutiny it's like being in the military. Finding one who is friendly and accommodating is rare indeed.
I hate dash-9 40cw lol ns has exactly 1,089 of them lol there very where thats all i see up pittsburgh.

Always liked NS's SD60s. Dual cab control ;-). Nice video.

Darn right. I love it when they run Southern style, aka LHF :-)
Not much of it on this line though due to all the cab signal mayhem surrounding the Harrisburg Line.

Would be neat to see though.
