  • Awesomeeeeeee !!!

  • <3

  • He has indeed tasted the prasad of Hari. Hari bol!

  • Amazing....

  • You are right Jamie Bonline...the world is both asleep, and clueless (while being arrogant and aggressive). Think what we could do if we released this music in warfronts...and see people just sitting down and enjoying the sunset or the stars ; eating together and sharing what they have (with care, trust, kindness and love) ; and finding an intuitive emotional connection - rather than all this combat, conflict and competition of domination? But pass around this music! Take care Jamie!

  • he a gem

  • Beautiful. Hariprasad Chgaurasia truly honors his name, Prasad of Hari. He plays for Hari and then we enjoyed after his offering to the Lord in his heart.

  • Amazing... my eyes filled with tears!

  • It's rather rare to hear Pandit Chaurasia playing in SA of "F". "E" being what he mostly chose, and sometimes Sa of "D#". Anyway, I suspect that in this interpretation he is playing on a "E" bansuri, but blowing very backward from the hole so that to produce a semi-tone higher tonality from the instrument. By this way, if I am not mistaken, he gets the wide sonority of a "E" bansuri, mixed to the acoustic lightness of a "F" flute (like Sachdev use to play).

  • you're right FredMerch. I went and checked on my flute, which has Sa as E. There's something to be said for this mastery.

  • This makes me want to quit my job and play my bansuri 12 hrs a day. He shapes the notes and sounds so masterfully.Like all great musicians, he transcends the instrument. We love you Hariji!

  • @paulrichardschuster : go for it !

  • panditji's bansuri exceeds jazz and everything! he is mote than a genios, a marvel of india!!

  • Genius!...its that simple.....i love it when musicians other that drummers or percussionists play drum type styles with their instruments...Pandit Hari manages to do it beautiully on a flute....unbelievable!.....
