  • I got that cotton candy machine

  • his voice was well seasoned by the time he sang this he was 14.

  • another great group band beside Jackson 5

  • Jacksons were more a pop group so they had more success. Its simple! But pop success doesn't really mean better/more talent. More over what you wear, dancing ability or giving some charity money has nothing to do w/ music. This song isn't really the Sylvers sound. Anyone who truly listens to this group knows that. Listeners hopefully can detect the differences between these great groups. Anyhow, the guy who wrote most of The Jacksons hits wrote this for the Sylvers(1 of a few they didn't write).

  • el Jackson song, you'll fall in love with. All their songs were amd still are great

  • You know what, every Jackson 5 and Micha

  • Man it ain't cool how people hear this & say its better than the Jacksons. In the history of like forever, nobody can ever get as close to the greatness of the Jacksons. If you ever listen to great songs like ABC and I'll Be There or Ben, you'll rethink it

  • This wasnt single by Foster

this was on one of the Sylvers slbum.. Foster just sung lead

The little man sung the hell out of this song

when i got the album back inthe day... I used to play this song like all day and night singing it like I owned it.. I still rides around in my truck and plays the Sylvers music to this day

    AWESOME SHAZAM!

  • This song sounds just like ABC by the Jacksons. Even the "I've tried apple, oranges, pumpkin pie" part resembles "Sit down girl, I think I love you". I love both songs though

  • @jonb3917 Sounds more like "My Little Lady" by Bloodstone, "Sugar Daddy" or "One Bad Apple" but definitely has that Freddie Perren touch.

  • Your right guys. I was a kind then and we just loved both groups. 70s soul

  • @marellamofo, If you listen to MJ on I'll be there and Got to be there, you will see that no one compares to the young Michael Jackson. He was simply a Phenomenon in the rarest sense.

  • @calroach1 I have to agree with you; this is certainly no disrespect to The Sylvers Family in any way, but Michael was, and this is just MY opinion, The GREATEST ENTERTAINER of ALL times! We will NEVER in this lifetime see another artist like Michael; he was something else; not just as an entertainer, but as a humanitarian as well.

  • Sounds like Michael Jackson. Foster Sylvers is just as talented. Freddie Perrin responsible for the Jackson 5 early hits can be heard on this classic.

  • @aleandavis

Foster sounded like MJ but my mom said that no one back then ever compared the two. In fact my mom said that no one ever compared the Jacksons to the Sylvers. Both families were equally loved.

  • @marellamofo Your mother is absolutely RIGHT!! I have always loved and respected BOTH families, and I still do! Each family are LEGENDS in their own right!

  • @shorty1ification I concur...Legends in their own right for sure!

  • Man...this was one of my favorite groups from back in the day...watch Unsung and learned of their story...so sad! You just never know what people go through nor do you no how they will end up in life. UHM UHM UHM....

  • @Aim2Plez777 You are so right; The Sylvers have always been one of my favorite groups too; I was glad to hear the story about them on Unsung as well, but some of the information which was shared with us was hard to hear; it made me tearful to hear about all of the tragedies and unfortunate incidents which this fantastic family has had to endure..it has made them strong though, and I tip my hat to them for that, but I still hate that they went through so much..shaking my head.

  • @shorty1ification I was taken back big time listening to their story. I actually hurt for them because I always wondered why they missed the mark in the business. They should have been bigger than the Jackson because they carried the total package. They all could sing...where as the Jackson's were a tad-bit limited. The Sylvers danced better than most groups out during that time. Look at their videos...every step they made was in unison and they all sang very well.

  • @Aim2Plez777 I was hurt too about this family; they are still ICONS to me though, and their music will never be forgotten! I'm just glad that the family has stayed together through all of what they've been through; sometimes life experiences tear a family apart.

  • @Aim2Plez777 check out unsung

  • @ZingZiggyZang....I actually watched that episode about a month ago. It was a really story to me because they should have been bigger than the Jacksons or atleast on their level in my opinion.

  • This track has it all!!! A REAL masterpiece!

  • I think this was a single by Foster

  • check out Teemong - Sugar

    sick remix

  • @COSANOSTRA2OO8 haha klopt die is geniaal

  • I was sssoooooooooooooo in love with Foster!

  • @librarian5602 You sure did!!! And so were the Jackson Boys. You seen the new Micheal album cover? Hand over the Heart and that all I'll say about that.

  • Growing up Angie was my cotton candy! I had never laid eyes on a more beautiful and sexy girl.

  • @MrMannM1 - same here MrMann.

  • @MrMannM1 Angie is still my cotton candy.. still love her after all thes years!

  • Thanks for posting this song!

  • Wow!!! Loved the Sylvers!!!

  • this was one of only a few perfect pop songs - the vocals , arrangement, music ...all flawless

  • @librarian5602 I was a 7 year old girl. They were on Mike Douglas and Foster sang this and tears just STREAMED down my face! I KNEW I wanted a boyfriend! (TMI sorry)

I wish that the networks would release or license ALL of these connections to our PASTS!

  • @librarian5602 me too!, In fact, I had to buy another one and I still have them both!

  • hmmmm Cotton candy....NO WONDER their teeth looked so BAD

  • Cotton Candy, es un tema buenísimo!!!, bien por Foster con su voz cuando era pendex!!!

  • @librarian5602 I don't know if it is a conspiracy but Foster Sylvers is a registered sex offender.

  • I remember when was little back in 76. we was like when they gonna play cotten when when.the qenny.

  • Hey Sylvers, it is time for a film about the group!

  • can anybody find the sylvers singing the song "freestyle" on soultrain

  • @williamelle i have it on vhs and its clear plus good quality just say the and i will hook u up.

  • i won a talent contest singing this song.

  • im with you on that brother.

  • Edmund Sylversthe lead singer passed away at the age of 47 of lung cancer in 2007

  • oh man I missed it, but im sure smeone will post it on youtube for me.

  • I hope they do a unsung special on this family, cause I would love to know how they got started, who did the harmonies, and choreography.

  • @TheBigDaddySteve they did sunday

  • @TheBigDaddySteve

a unsung special...u mean on tv?

  • sounds like a young michael jackson!!

  • Cotton Candy was the first record that I ever bought. I played the black off it, I think it had a really groovy quality about it. Also storybook girl wasnt too bad. The girls seemed to be in good form harmonizing behind him. I think Showcase and Something Special were about their best projects. I wish someone would post "Keep on Keeping on" and "Loving you is like loving the Wind"

  • yeah, Showcase and Something Special were two of their best albums, along with Forever Yours i believe, i can't believe these albums are still out of print

  • what about foster singing dont be cruel great!

  • another favorite. the harmonies are one of the best of the group. "on a diet of your love."

  • I so loved this song back in the day I was about 13 Thanx so much for this song

    Kia ora Aotearoa NZ

  • Freddie Perren was the producer on this cut.

  • OMG...my brothers and sisters were such Sylvers fans back in 1975

  • Absolutely great, 1976, i remember taping a show on german TV called "New York New York" with the TV-correspondent Werner Baecker. It was a disco special, and i fell in love with this song immediately. Schubiduwab!

  • I had such a crush on Foster Sylvers. I must have been around 10 yrs old and at the skating rink. Thanks brings back innocent memories.

  • dionmartin216, I feel you. I had such a crush on Foster that I compared every man who asked me out at the time with Foster. Poor guys, they didn't stand a chance.

  • Actually, Jeremy Sylvers is Edmund's son.

  • i know his son jeremy looks justlike him when i saw him in childs play 3 i knew he was a sylver but i didnt know whose son he was then i founf dout it was foster.

  • what a fun line, "i can live forever on a diet of your love." sing it Foster!

  • Great production

  • omg...this was one of my favorite songs back then

  • i love cotton candy.

  • OMG this brings back memories... while growing up in New Zealand (no longer living there) we call it "Candy Floss"...

  • この曲をずっと聴きたくて嬉しいです

  • I just wonder if Foster Sylvers is still as fine as he was when he was teenager.

  • Brillant Group!

  • this is a fresh song

  • This is just *adorable*--the kids can jump--lol--Thanks, I've been looking for it!

  • Sounds like that old bubble gum soul music.

  • Thanks for posting the lyrics. However, I still know them, word for word...LOL! I was an official Sylvers fan club member, back in the day ;)

  • OMG!!!! remember this one. HAHA!! luv the memories.

  • This song was a big hit for the Sylvers. That's lil Foster Sylvers on the lead...just wondering why NONE of them stayed in the business, the talent and popularity was there. There is more to show business than that, apparently.....Still one of my favorite acts of all time.....

  • AHHH and you posted the lyrics...that's "sweet"...thanks.
