I always wonder who gets to eat the promoted meal, as it possibly gets a little cold while she's presenting it, lol. I have started a low fat diet and Betty gives great ideas for such, thanks Betty, and she's pretty too!
@chynadoll4338 I go by the amount of flame coming out. If I'm melting butter, I don't want it sizzling or burning, so, I keep the flame fairly low; however, if I'm frying something, I need it hotter, so I turn it higher, so that it does sizzle. I hope this helps!
That looks yummy, we are gonna try it with the wheat bread and ground turkey, any suggestions for keeping the turkey moist. I think the egg may do it? thanks o/
I would just like to say that I love all your recipes that you make Betty. I love to see you cook and you explain things so well that it's easy to make all the foods you cook. Yummy keep making the videos ! I love them all !
@zjr8879 Because a great majority of people like their burgers with onions as an extra? How many burger joints do you know of that mix onion with the beef? Not many. I personally like mine mixed and not mixed. Sometimes its key to have a layer of flavoring as apposed to a puree. Get what I mean? Why not just blend everything? Then it wouldnt be a burger.
Wow, that looks amazing. I'm going to try that out for tonight's dinner. Pretty lady, great food, soothing accent - what more can you ask for ;) nice video!
When you use a blender etc on meat - the friction of the blade against the protein strands actually causes heat. Put it in the fridge for a wee while before cooking. It becomes firmer & cooks more evenly.
I didn't eat them as a hamburger because we didn't have any buns so instead I ate it with rice and soy sauce and it was really great. we liked them a lot and enjoyed it very much!
we made these tonight. they didn't come out as nice looking as yours, but we are learning. they were pretty good anyway. i like having the alternative if you don't have any buns. thanks!
I always use white bread with my burgers after I got my bread machine. I just pop them in the 2 slice toaster and plop the burger meat on. Its a faux patty melt =) For perfectly square patties, you can rolling pin the whole bowl over a sheet pan. Use a pizza cutter to trim... I've seen lots of store bought sliced bread on your vids, you should look into a bread machine, it will pay for itself in the savings. Not to mention how much better bread taste without the preservatives..
Yeah, sometimes I stop emphasizing the calories--I think people get tired of my preaching--but these are very good! Thanks for viewing and commenting!
Thank you for posting this! I asked about them in your other video, and you said you were uploading it lol These look delicious - can't wait to make them. I'm an amateur cook, and I rely on people like you to give me great recipes with easy to follow directions --- so please keep cooking and posting videos. They're great!
Thank you! I think you will love these hamburgers--they are just a little different take on the regular hamburger/cheeseburger--but they taste *really* good! Thanks for your compliments!
betty! you have a wonderful presentation with food you really know how to make it enjoyable and fun you make it so nice most people eat with there eyes first and i think anyone who has your food get an eye full when they eat your food i don't inow what you do as a day job but quit and go on the next food network star i believe you would win keep making them delicious food you keep making so i can keep making them they are all so good but the coleslaw was my favorite
Love this video -- I hope to one day have a wife I can cook with just like you! As usual, thank you very much for the recipe and have a great weekend.
Thanks for your compliments! I attribute my size to eating food cooked at home. I know exactly how much fat/sugar I'm getting in a serving (In a restaurant I don't), so I eat only small portions of really sweet, fatty stuff. I try to substitute fat-free and sugar-free ingredients, as long as it doesn't affect the recipe. And, I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and tuna! One trick I use--If I want rich cake, I eat a whole apple first, and then have just a sliver of cake! Nothing is off limits!B
Just another silly Patsymd suggestion. Try (on any sandwich appropriate) spreading your "Light" mayo on the OUTSIDE and using that as your "browning" oil. Now.. it browns in 1/2 the time, so don't walk away. But.. you will save so much in calories. The taste is different, so I'll be interested in knowing if you like it. You can do the same with Dijon Mustard, but that is a super strong flavor.
That sounds interesting! I have never tried browning mayo--that's something new that I definitely will check out! Thanks, Patsy, for another great tip!!!
I use egg and bread crumbs when making meatloaf, and I thought about doing that here, but I wanted to keep it "meaty," instead of adding much filler. Since I used a beaten egg and did the entire combining with an electric mixer, I didn't find the egg to be slimy or messy--but the bread crumbs would have worked, too! Thanks for your comment!
I've made these many many times and they sure are delicious. It's a nice change from the traditional hamburger on a hamburger bun. Thanks for sharing Betty! :)
