  • I always wonder who gets to eat the promoted meal, as it possibly gets a little cold while she's presenting it, lol. I have started a low fat diet and Betty gives great ideas for such, thanks Betty, and she's pretty too!

  • How high do we set the burner to for a gas stove? Low-high not numbered. I know some stoves have numbers instead of Low-high. Thank you!

  • @chynadoll4338 I go by the amount of flame coming out. If I'm melting butter, I don't want it sizzling or burning, so, I keep the flame fairly low; however, if I'm frying something, I need it hotter, so I turn it higher, so that it does sizzle. I hope this helps!

  • i dont like onion is it ok without onion?

  • @tangkag879 Yes, it's fine to leave out the onion.

    --Betty :)

  • why don't you just mix the onion with the beef mince?

  • @zjr8879 Because a great majority of people like their burgers with onions as an extra? How many burger joints do you know of that mix onion with the beef? Not many. I personally like mine mixed and not mixed. Sometimes its key to have a layer of flavoring as apposed to a puree. Get what I mean? Why not just blend everything? Then it wouldnt be a burger.

  • These burgers look delicious. Thank you for sharing, I can't wait to try this recipe!

  • i doont even cook i just watch it to get hungry omnomnom

  • Would it be ok to use a butter substitute?

  • @Pozubo Yes, use any fat that is equivalent to the butter used.

    --Betty :)

  • that looks so good on that bread ! can you make me one please !!!

  • that looks so good on that bread ! can you make me one please !!!

  • Cooking is like chemistry! A great burger is like good music

  • How do you make the oven baked fries?!?!

Good vid by the way :)

  • Wow, that looks amazing. I'm going to try that out for tonight's dinner. Pretty lady, great food, soothing accent - what more can you ask for ;) nice video!

  • well done hamburger...i can buy beef jerky at walmart, otherwise nice patty melt

  • Hi Betty. Just a bit of feedback.

When you use a blender etc on meat - the friction of the blade against the protein strands actually causes heat. Put it in the fridge for a wee while before cooking. It becomes firmer & cooks more evenly.

Love your accent & keep the videos coming!

    <3 from Scotland!

    xx

  • @brckshaw Thanks for your lovely comment and great information! I really appreciate it!

    --Betty :)

  • I didn't eat them as a hamburger because we didn't have any buns so instead I ate it with rice and soy sauce and it was really great. we liked them a lot and enjoyed it very much!

  • Thanks for your lovely feedback!

    --Betty :)

  • we made these tonight. they didn't come out as nice looking as yours, but we are learning. they were pretty good anyway. i like having the alternative if you don't have any buns. thanks!

  • Yes, you may like buns better, but the sliced bread can be used like this if you run out of buns! Thanks for commenting!

    --Betty :)

  • how did u make it almost perfect size fit for the bread? hehe. loves it betty :)

  • Ben, it was just a guesstimate that worked out!

    --Betty :)

  • "I think this is really a masculine looking burger. . .and so I'm not trying to introduce any 'delicacies' into it. . .".

LOL. Yeah Sweetie, except for that Totally delicate lookin' plate. You crack me up!

That looks really good btw, masculine or not. Those fries look scrummy as well.

  • I, personally, did not think that plate was so feminine--but that's just *me*! Thanks for your lovely compliment on the recipe!

    --Betty :)

  • Great home-style cooking! Thanks Betty!

    --Betty :)

  • excellent video , hope you enjoyed the food , gona make em tonight ...... 5*'s

  • Thanks! I hope you enjoy the burgers! have a great day!!!

    --Betty :)

  • I always use white bread with my burgers after I got my bread machine. I just pop them in the 2 slice toaster and plop the burger meat on. Its a faux patty melt =) For perfectly square patties, you can rolling pin the whole bowl over a sheet pan. Use a pizza cutter to trim... I've seen lots of store bought sliced bread on your vids, you should look into a bread machine, it will pay for itself in the savings. Not to mention how much better bread taste without the preservatives..

  • You have given me a lot of great ideas here! My Christmas list is growing!!! Thanks for the great tips!

    --Betty :)

  • YUMMM YUMMM!!! I am gonna make this tonight, my question is... Did you deep fry the burger?

  • No, I just fried it in a skillet. It will be very easy to do. I hope you like it! Thanks for your comment!

  • Thanks for your lovely compliment! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, too! I always enjoy your comments!

    --Betty :)

  • I just love your videos....I'm taking some hamburg from the freezer right away...now if only I could be as tiny as you.. :)

  • Thanks for your compliments! I attribute my size to eating food cooked at home. I know exactly how much fat/sugar I'm getting in a serving (In a restaurant I don't), so I eat only small portions of really sweet, fatty stuff. I try to substitute fat-free and sugar-free ingredients, as long as it doesn't affect the recipe. And, I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and tuna! One trick I use--If I want rich cake, I eat a whole apple first, and then have just a sliver of cake! Nothing is off limits!B

  • Just another silly Patsymd suggestion. Try (on any sandwich appropriate) spreading your "Light" mayo on the OUTSIDE and using that as your "browning" oil. Now.. it browns in 1/2 the time, so don't walk away. But.. you will save so much in calories. The taste is different, so I'll be interested in knowing if you like it. You can do the same with Dijon Mustard, but that is a super strong flavor.

  • That sounds interesting! I have never tried browning mayo--that's something new that I definitely will check out! Thanks, Patsy, for another great tip!!!

    --Betty :)

  • it look's good .. i have to try this with the mixer...

  • Thanks! The mixer makes it a smoother burger--just for a change! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • looks great betty. i'll be posting that video later! thanks for the recipe. i'm going to try it ASAP!

  • Thanks! I will be watching for your video! Thanks for your comment!!!

    --Betty :)

  • looks good

  • Thank you! I appreciate your feedback!

    --Betty :)

  • i dont use egg anymore in my ground beef,I only use bread crumbs.

bread crunbs hold in the flavor/juice and makes the hamburger easier to handle ..the egg is kinda slimy and messy .

  • I use egg and bread crumbs when making meatloaf, and I thought about doing that here, but I wanted to keep it "meaty," instead of adding much filler. Since I used a beaten egg and did the entire combining with an electric mixer, I didn't find the egg to be slimy or messy--but the bread crumbs would have worked, too! Thanks for your comment!

    --Betty :)

  • I've made these many many times and they sure are delicious. It's a nice change from the traditional hamburger on a hamburger bun. Thanks for sharing Betty! :)

  • You're welcome! I like a change from the same old hamburger bun, too! Thanks for your nice comment!

    --Betty :)

  • looks so good betty. i have never used a mixer with my burger. i am gonna try that. :)

  • Thanks, Ben! Nice to hear from you! Have a great day!!!
