  • We should all get along. However if you are in any way right wing then you can't realistically like any comedy, music, literature or culture of any kind. It is not for you. You can like the concept of economics.

  • @ChaosDynamics I like your thinking. :3

  • Pro-lifers might object to this.... but sentient creatures would surely applaud it, eh?

  • @laveenladharam yup, it definitely was. And it's one of the great comic masterminds of the BBC.

  • @DropTheCatt WHAT? lol -- so knowledgeable all of a sudden :p

    BORIS

  • was this done on the BBC?

  • Why do the audience clap with their hands in the air - is this supposed to show greater enthusiasm? God, the British really are getting more moronic.

  • @cosycleaner This was done nigh on three decades ago.

Besides, I don't see how on Earth the style of how one claps has any indication of intelligence at all.

This has been a broadcast from Anti-Joke Chicken.

  • @cosycleaner frankly, you can go fuck yourself.

  • @truelieswow

Thank you for your considered, intelligent observation...

  • @cosycleaner Where are you from?

  • see even an abortion hook can replace thatcher

  • Thatcher,Thatcher, the school milk snatcher! And THAT was just 1 of her less evil moves.

  • A quote from Chuck Palahniuk's afterword for Fight Club: "Years later, in London, a young man pulled me aside before a book event. He was a waiter at a five-star restaurant-one of only two five-star restaurants in the city-and he loved how I depicted waiters spoiling food. Long before they'd read my book, he and other servers had messed with the food they served celebrities. When I asked him to name one celebrity he shook his head, no he couldn't risk telling. (continued)

  • @steveissteveable When I refused to sign his book, he waved me closer and whispered: "Margaret Thatcher has eaten my c*m." He held up one hand, his fingers spread, and said: "At least five times..." I hope Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie have read that book.

  • Who's Thatcher?

  • @popazz1 your youtube page claims that you are from the united kingdom, so I don't understand how you've never heard of her when I have (im from the US). Thatcher was the Prime Minister all throughout the 80s and she, along with Reagan (President of the US at the time) ended unions, privatized the economy, stopped many government benefits, and ultimately screwed up everything (in my opinion). Even though she was prime minister over 20 years ago, her actions have had a huge influence on politics.

  • @uniteagainsthumanity ,

Sorry,I was just joking around.I'm perfectly aware who this evil bitch is.I was just leaving education & heading out into the world when she came to prominence & I still shudder when I remember how she decimated whole communities, especially the mining towns/villages & how privatising the economy led to people killing themselves when their businesses went bankrupt.Even Meryl Streep's upcoming portrayal of her will do nothing to 'soften' this 'woman's' personality.

  • @popazz1 oh good =) sorry, it's hard to detect sarcasm on youtube and there are A LOT of stupid people on youtube. Unfortunately, only the well educated in the US know who Thatcher is, and I was fearing that our stupidity had spread.

  • @uniteagainsthumanity ,

Oh I don't know,I don't believe YT reflects the real American.YT tends to cater to,how can I put it,the lower orders from any nation. It's just that YT is predominantly American in 'membership'.YT also seems to cater to our baser needs, lol.Yes,Thatcher certainly had her ally in Reagan, moreso than she had in her cabinet ministers. There is talk that she will receive a State Funeral,Churchill was the last PM to be afforded such an honour.Preferably BEFORE she dies, lol.

  • Bielzebub has a Devil put aside for Maggie!

  • also, i'm a Yank and you could do the same sketch wr2 Reagan ... and how what came after him wasn't much better if at all (except maybe Bill Clinton).

  • @tsartodd Honestly I think Clinton was just lucky to be president during an economic boom. I liked the guy personally but I don't think as a president he was that different from his predecessor or those who came after him.

  • sad thing is, the PMs who came after Thatcher weren't much better. in the case of Cameron, they were worse.

  • For the love of God, you should be here to enjoy Fry and Laurie, not to debate on Thatcher's government or whatever... Just please, enjoy the video!

  • Maggie made Britian proud. These are funny comedians but typically as (champagne) socialist as they come ...

  • @jameswb333333 You said "Maggie made Britain proud".

You're are talking through your arse.

Twatcher made Britain shit. She fucked the nation up good and proper.

  • @CuntCameron By making Britain the fourth most successful economy in the world, prior to which Britain had been a basket case - 'the sick man of Europe' we had been called up to the point where she turned it around. So explain what you mean when you say 'she f----ed the nation up good and proper.'

  • @jameswb333333 She sold everything we had and gave the proceeds to the rich who then invested it abroad. This ruined our manufacturing industries. We now buy gas from Russia, coal from Australia, electricity from France etc. etc. etc.

Maggie Twatcher is a cunt and there will be street parties when she snuffs it.

  • @CuntCameron Damn right.

  • Six coathangers are angry about being associated with Maggie Thatcher.

  • Exactly how I feel about David Cameron :')

  • to be fair i'd vote for anything rather that that putrid old whorebag of a conservative

  • COATHANGER FOR PM!!

  • Admittantly maybe the joke was an easy one, as Fry said even a 'child' could knock Mrs Thatcher, and in fact any politician. I do think Fry and Laurie had edge when they wanted to, despite their nostaligc turn of comic phrase.Thatcher had some consideration towards the 'aspiring working class' benefits in fact rose proportionally during her tenure. The 'big society' just seems like a privilaged middle finger raised against the poor. A 'we can't be bothered to help so help yourselves' ethos.

  • Is there a youtube of 'loadsamoney' giving his 5 penn'th on Thatch'?

"...she's dun a great job for the country, but you wouldn't ant to f*ck it"☺

Stephen Fry wrote to me begging me to vote for war criminal Phoney B.Liar 2005 FACT!

  • and what do i know about politics and economics? almost nothing, im using observation here

whatever "higher" things are happening to the "educated" eyes all I see is this: there are more people unemployed and under the poverty line NOW than there were BEFORE the cuts started, I simply cannot understand who would think that is a good thing.

  • all i know is everytime a Tory PM comes to power the standard of living drops and every time a Labour PM comes to power the standard of living rises

I know because my family is middle class and they remember Thatchers years, and i'm now seeing the comparison in living between Brown and Blair

we never felt the squeeze during the recesion under Brown, only when Cameron came to power, and:

    1. we're not on the dole, we work like evry1 else

    2. we're not snobs otherwise we'd support Cameron

  • @Emrald70

How about this: people vote for the "left" when the capitalist system struggles back on its feet after yet another slump and people see that the poor are still not benefitting from the increasing wealth.

During the economic good times, people become more rightwing because they believe the capitalist economy is going from strength to strength and they assume that those still not benefitting are lazy or deliberately anti-social.

Then, when the economy is about to go t*ts-up again...

  • the "right" comes back in!

  • But I thought everyone in England loved Thatcher, just like everyone in America loves Reagan. (that was sarcasm)

Oh god I needed this to my mind off the fact that right now I have to live under that weapon's grade-douche Scott Walker because of my home state's constitution prohibits him from recalled until January 23 2012.

  • fuck thatcher scum.

  • I like stephen fry that little bit less now :-(

  • @jabba21555 I like him a little bit more xD

  • @jabba21555 good im sure hes happy about that

  • This would never air in Italy! =(

  • Am I the only one who finds it depressing when there are *pages* of heated arguments in the comments? Can't we all just agree that British television is entertaining, Fry and Laurie are both rather sexy, and we wish there were an infinite number of episodes of ABOFAL? XD

  • @592653589 Seconded! And, if possible, Thireded, Fourthed, Fifthed, and onwards :D

  • @592653589 You forgot the sarcastic quotation marks :P

  • I bet they both loved thatcher anyway

  • @SirOneoneselfandone Except that they appeared in Labour campaigns, and are (were) both Labour supporters.

  • @TheMikeyReilly one went to Eton, the other to Uppingham----> Labour supporters... YUH

  • @SirOneoneselfandone So, because your parents forced you into private education automatically makes you hate social democracy?

    stupid cunt

  • @SirOneoneselfandone so they're educated, i bet you wish you were.

  • @hovis1962 oh but I am

  • It's funny because it's true.

  • Very witty and clever indeed. Fry at his best.

  • @kenfig They had thier moments .....like the SAS sketch ......this wasn't the best punch-line ...I liked the lead up to it though.

  • Murderer of 900 Argentinian boys.

  • @darioso5 Are you defending the manner in which Argentina was planning on dealing with the inhabitants of the Falkland isles??

  • @minimacca999 Perhaps. But that means they can be voted out no dramas. But this is about character. Just 'cos someone likes what a liar says, doesn't make being a liar any the more moral.

If anything has become clear over the last decade and a half it is that some basic honesty and decency needs to come first, policy second.

  • Exactly. So where was the equivelent abuse thrown at the next 'establishment'?

  • I think you are correct. I also think that is sort of the point I am making. Thatcher did as she said. Brown and Blair lie daily, and they lie for their own advancement. Yet, their lefty "I am doing it for others" bullshit seems to fly.

Stephen Fry seems proud of his role in getting the douche bags elected. Why doesn't he hate them at least as much?

It seems utterly wrong that they got such a free pass.

  • that's more to do with the third party spoiler effect than though isn't it. The left is divided between labour/ lib dem whereas the conservatives are the only major right wing contender with the result that while the majority of people may be centre-left the conservatives still stand a significant chance of winning.

  • @takethisyou0tube

Hmm, while your argument makes sense, more lib dem voters would vote Tory over Labour

  • Wow. Thatcher sounds like the Bush of Britain.

  • Get over it people, it's called humour or otherwise known as comedy. These two are geniouses (or is it genii?).

  • geniuses ;)

  • Its either

  • Working class people? Go into a mining town and try saying that.

  • Lest we forget...

  • The lack of decent opposition to Blair's policies is no reason to support the right wing. Blair's policies WERE right wing! Starting completely pointless wars, killing innocent human beings (now in iraq, afghanistan AND pakistan) - he was just one of you in disguise.

  • Which is my point. Where were all the trendy voices denouncing Blair and Brown. To this day I have seen neither receive abuse like this. And they have put far more people out of work.

The trendy left think such behaviour is morally upstanding but won't apply the principle universally. Points directly to the self-righteous blindness of the left.

  • @derdriui For some reason I can't thumb up comments, but this deserves it.

  • @derdriui

You're so fucking ignorant it's not even funny, did the Fall of the Taliban in 2001 mean nothing to you? The 3.5 billion dollars that get sent to Afghanistan every year for its restructurement? The reforming of the Afghanistan army and influx of private security forces to assure that the American/British/Danish/Canadian troops that are there don't need to return..the last 50,000 troops in Iraq said they were leaving soon yesterday and around 600 hundred people died from suicidebombings

  • @BelfastAtheist Where's the aid to Afghanistan really going to? (Seriously, look it up.)

The 'private security forces'? You mean the groups like Blackwater who are essentially paid assasins whose crimes don't have to be attributed to specific countries?

As for Iraq, invading, ruining and then splitting up contracts for redevelopment among multi-nationals (as well as stealing 75% of Iraq's oil for them) was not for the people. Also, you're from BELFAST and you're supporting the hun on this?

  • @derdriui

    Christ, I hate disingenuous people.

  • @BelfastAtheist ... You're supporting the war in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan... if this is you being genuine, then you're a naive yet destructive.

  • @derdriui

    ^, see my former comment.

  • @derdriui if blairs policies were right wing then Marx was a centrist.

  • @kubaniski if you're a moron then you're a moron.

  • @kubaniski Shut up ya capitalist exploiting cunt

  • @TheMikeyReilly I come from a farm in southern Poland, i used to shit in a hole and wipe my ass with leaves. Then i came to america and got a job doing construction for below minimum wage, i got an apartment, a car, cable, actual healthcare, and a working toilet. Being exploited was the best thing that ever happened to me.

  • @kubaniski so whats poland like apart takin a dump.

  • @hovis1962 what the hell does that mean?

  • @kubaniski *CLAPS*

  • @Dalek1230 Meow

  • @derdriui Communist Dog

  • @Dalek1230 hahaha! That's your great rebuttal? Cold War insults? Good job keeping up with the times, dumbass.

  • @derdriui Not Really, I am sorry for your 30 years in a cupboard, must of been hell, Go to China, i will say no more so i dont confuse you, your infinity amusing

  • @Dalek1230 Are you kidding? To call China communist is a very stupid thing to do now.

Just... watch the news, read a book, look up anything on the Chinese economy.

  • @derdriui China's economy is more and more capitalism, but the government stil runs like that of a communist state (ie religion is still technically not allowed)

  • @derdriui How is starting a war "right wing" you idiot? Go and read a book

  • @l0gan316 Someones maaaaaaaad

  • @AwkwardWhaleFail what does that mean?

  • @l0gan316 ... Which book would that be, darling?

  • @derdriui don't know how labour accepted him, perhaps he was too right wing for thre tories

  • @derdriui And now he tells us that he regrets banning foxhunting and introducing Freedom of Information, but DOESN'T regret riding Dumbya's coattails into Iraq. When asked pointblank if he was a Tory at heart, he wouldn't deny it. And when doing his book promotion *during the Labour leadership election*, making his support for David Miliband very obvious, he said "I don't want to make trouble for David Cameron" - no, just for Ed Miliband and Ed Balls, eh? Tony Blair PM = I'm Tory Plan B.

  • @derdriui I'm sorry for the delay, but this was the first time I saw this video. Now, I thought Bush started Iraq, and Afghanistan was started by basically the entire international community (the ones outside of the Islamic world anyway).

The question is, is the government of the UK more or less broken than that of the US?

  • @derdriui thats amusing

  • @derdriui One of who?

  • @derdriui and you probably voted for him :L

  • @JPH18account ... Nope.

  • @derdriui oh so you voted for an irrelevant minor party - even better.

  • @derdriui Right, because being a fiscal conservative totally means you want to slaughter innocent people. Have some understanding, for pity's sake.

  • She was the PM, last time I checked they never get an easy ride. This joke could have been done in 1994, 2003, 2009, it would have been the same joke.

No doubt Fry & Laurie had bias and some sketches show this much better. For one the Britain they grew up in was being demolished (the Urine & Vomit monologue). Also I think you'll find 18 years of one-party rule gave him the easy ride, something Cameron is enjoying right now.

  • They do get an easy ride. Blair had a very easy one.

Either way, they didn't make the sketch at that point. They made it then. I can think of countless big name comedians, on the BBC and elsewhere, ripping Thatcher non-stop.

No 'left-winger' has had anything like it.

  • @JapeUK Nah. Thatcher was pure evil.

  • genius

  • Hahaha, ah this is gold.

  • I know: Gordon Brown!

  • Never fails to make me smile :)

Oh, if only comedy shows were still funny...

  • Not.................at all
