Thanks for compiling this. So many of us wanted to dance like the Soul Train Gang throughout the years!! And yes, RIP Don Cornelius - the amazing innovator!!
RIP Don Cornelius -- a brilliant man and creator of one of the greatest programs of our culture. It was so much more than dancing and singing, it was about being together, no worries and simply having a good time. "Love, Peace, and SOUL!"
Man I wish I was born to see the soul train...I was born in the early 90's. It really sucks to be a 90's baby will all this music about girl's butts and how much money and weed you could buy..its ashame good times like these don't even exist anymore..
@urbanlex Hey, don't be racist. Too bad Michael Jackson turned into a weird, plastic, freaky cracker himself. White people definitely seem lame compared to these funksters, but have you seen the "brothers" now days? Seems like they all want to be like Lil' Wayne and make "crunk".
@bluedreadz You said it brother,im white, wanna watch some killer dancin and sounds, and first thing you see is that shit,is there any need."Don't be Racist",talk till your blue in the face to some motherfuckers, white and black.
@rocknroll773 so, maybe they all are? if you knew the roots of funk-soul you can see how it was born from scottish gospel, the dance moves are straight out of a highland fling.
I used to watch this show all the time, white boy kickin it in the living room. I would imagine me funkin the gauntlet with some nubian princess, lockin, poppin, droppin but in reality floppin like a flounder. I was prolly the 1st wigger in my school, a real napolean dynamite tearing up the living room with my funk
Now this is dancing! So smooth so smooth with there dancing. Man! Gonna dress up as James Brown this Holloween and I gotta get some moves down man and I'm Mexican! Gotta love the god father of soul!
they sort of did a pindrop in this. Find where it is. at 3:35 i think that was funny wat the guy was doin. I can really say no one was ashamed it was very nice cool and very powerfull to see everyone all enjoying theirselves when they probably didn't know each other great just great.
@MusicandDancing4Ever I tend to get sad at these kind of videos because they were enjoying themselves and they were actually dancing with each other. You knew they had to practice together to be so on point together like that
@Nefes10 I know you got soul by Booby Byrd, that was released as a single in 73 in think and It was sampled by Eric B for his version in the mid 80's when rare groove was king of clubs and that I believe helped the Eric B version become a huge hit at the time....
Ms. Lady, you've done it again...WONDERFUL edits! This is now one of my FAV of your creations...Not going to bookmark it (I think it's safer that way) I'll just keep coming back to watch and "like" it.
IF U HAVE'NT NOTICE THESE DANCERS R PROFESIONAL. DANCERS. WHICH IS PROBABLY R HIRED 4 THE SHOW . I GOT 2 ADMIT THIS STUFF IS GOOD. I DON'T SEE THIS TYPE OF DANCE ANYMORE.
@seugeilp3 These dancers are from Soul Train, most of these dancers came from the streets and from high school. These teenagers at the time were natural, talented, expressive dancers, most of these people had no training or anything. That's the thing that makes Soul Train of the 70's so much better then the other eras, you had dancers who weren't looking for fame or attention, they just wanted to dance and created their own steps. Some went on to have professional careers, but most didn't.
@MusicandDancing4Ever You are right, most of these dancers came from the streets and from high school. Don Cornelius said so on the history of Soul Train documentary.
@seugeilp3 I watch these dance shows today, and the thing that they are lacking is soul. Ther lacking that get down, get with it, creative, expressive soul in dancing. These folks from the 70's had it, today's folks don't.
Those weren't professional dancers and they absolutely were NOT hired to dance on the show. These were local teenagers having wholesome fun - a rare occurrence these days.
@seugeilp3 NO. these were teenagers recruited from the local high schools. I was one of them, I know. No professional dancers. It's just that black people create and the rest of the world has to teach it in school. We create. The world imitates, but never can replicate. Ow!
OMG this dance routine at 0:32 is the step usher is doing in his "dj got us fall in love" MV WOW this is depressin ...hah they did it way better than him ^^
