Yes, it is him (on the Tanpura).

This is Shudh Kanra, it does not figure in the Indian classical raag system. Recently I had a long and detailed discussion on this raag with Singh Bandhu (Pandit Tejpal Singhji) and he exclaimed it independent form than all other Kanre. This is one unique features of the Gur-Sikh tradition.

I am not aware if you have access to Maharaj Baba Jagjit Singh Ji Namdhari but you may refer to his elder Gurubhai, Bhai Gurcharan Singh.
