Hmmm, Wow the jews are very similar to Islam. Clearly Islam is the true religion, where we must pray 5 times a day, put our faces on the ground, and praise Allah. Why dont Jews just accept the fact that Islam is the true religion. It is clearly the last Law, that confirms the books of old, Torah, Gospel, Book Of Abraham.
I am a Jew: I "pray" 3 times a day, but that for me is reading a script. Its important to have a routine because it keeps you grounded, but then sometimes I pray outside the book and that is talking with God and that is more powerful than anything.
ok this didnt help me at all .... how the hell do jews pray?!! is there like 10 ways to do it or is there none .. or do you even pray at all ???? someone please answer this question cause i need serious help for my religion assignment!
but if thats where your faith really falls then you have already converted in your heart. But as you already know that Jews and muslims are the closest religions. We call them our cousins
oh dear every door i open i see a human clown look at these clowns i spit opon your fire' i can only hope the whole solar system explodes in a ball fire the best possible soluition
@gunitfor Are you an anti human alien. Please be more tolerant of my people if you are. I know we are an obnoix ignorant bunch by galactic standards, but noone is making you watch us slowly destroy ourselves. Unless they are. I pity you in that case. I hate having to be made to atch the human race, and I am a human who was born on Earth. Good luck my alien friend. I hope you find tolerance or freedom soon.
Sorry to say. Religion is concerned with economic, social and mental well biing. But all religions have become ritualistic. Muslims copied their ritual from Parsis and Jews.
actually its the same pray cause all of the prophets came with the same message ,there's no young or old religion ,ther's one religion and one truth ...
Actually, brownkid214, it's totally possible to convert to Judaism. Check out the section on conversion on MyJewishLearning -- many of the most important Jews, from the Bible to contemporary times, were converts.
yes...sephardic jew, whcih are ethnic jew, hebrew, israelites, do not convert....neither do the karaites......ashkenazi accept converts?...because 1/8 people in their community arent rooted in israel.....
You can convert. Go to you local reform, reconstructive, conservative, or orthodox synagogue and ask the rabbi what you need to do. I want to do an Orthodox conversion, so I need to wait until I move within walking distance of my synagogue so I can go to services without desecrating sabbath.
Thanks for the different perspectives from real, everyday people. Like the summary said... half anthropology... I enjoyed that aspect. Not a "This is how"... instructional type piece, which is what I was almost expecting at first.
Simply, prayer expresses our belief in G‑d. Our recognition that we r dependent on His beneficence, & that, as the 1 who controls all, it is w/i His ability to extricate us from our hardship. Its more than just presenting our needs b4 G‑d. It is actually our primary means of connecting our consciousness to the divine, an island in time when our souls r unleashed, free to soar to heavenly heights. Such prayer leaves an indelible refining impact on the entire day.
