  • When i add a cymbal to make a transition from the intro fill to the verse, i can't make it work like you do. The cymbal will repeat itself continuously through the drum loop, even through i dragged the whole thing out before adding the cumbal. Any tips?

  • Looks pretty easy that way. Thank you for sharing!

    Cheers!

  • Hello Dave,, Will this work with cubase le?? Im getting that software with my interface.

     Thanks Tom ;-)

  • dam yo ugot enough guitars? i know what not to get you for christmas

  • can you you use fl studio with ezdrummer? (if anybody knows what it is)

  • This is like from the PS2 Music Maker from Ernie Ball. This is more complex and you can use on the computer. The music maker is tweekable and fun to fart around with. Anyone know how to take what I have and put it to the comp.?

  • Thanx....great video...

  • I like all your videos but this one was extra cool for me in particular because #1 I have been thinking about buying this software but have been hesitant due to having bought so many other lame softwares in the past, and #2 your video in itself was a cool quick lesson that showed us how to use it - thanks Dave!

  • Can I use this program to record my drums? I got roland td9 and a midi-usb cable?

  • OR.....You can hire this guy: youtube.com/watch?v=ItZyaOlrb7E&feature=related LOL

Nice lesson Dave! We thank you!

  • excellent thanks for that , take us through the rest of the song ...guitar and bass tracks ect..if you are writing a song do you put down the drums then guitar..or visa versa and if guitar how do you know the bpm for the drums??? sorry noob!

  • @zonkers155 I'd like to know how to mix together drums/guitar together as well :)

  • Can you use this software with just a mouse and keyboard, and without a DAW? Also, can you write your own drum beat (a lot of my writing has 5/4 and 7/4)?

  • @NothingSpecialMusic1 - no it's not standalone. yes, you can create your own beats.

  • @DAVEWEINER Awesome.

  • does anyone know if this can work with Reason 4.0?

  • EZ Drummer is excellent and totally intuitive. When you are tweaking the midi you can change the piano roll to drum, percussion and cymbal names.

  • Addictive Drums I mean of coures

  • good informative video. I like the sound of Addictive drummer a lot more than this though

  • Been using Toontrack stuff for ages as well. Nothing else comes close to their Superior 2. Great little intro there Dave. Nice work.

  • Although I have been using EZ Drummer for a little while I learned a few things. Your obviously a great teacher and a very giving person. Thanks for making these vids.

  • Good vid. Few nice tips I'm be implementing :)

  • Best tutorial ever seen on the web Dave, thanx!

  • I'm definitely getting EZDrummer when I've got my copy of PT.

  • do you know if billy will be playing with steve again once he's done touring with mr.big?

  • Putting drummers out of business? I guess the old joke is true. "What do you call a drummer who breaks up with his girlfriend?" "Homeless."

  • I love superior drummer its very cool and easy to use although I don't usually use the grooves just edit a blank track and add my own notes.

  • Great lesson Dave, extremely informative!

  • Thanks Dave!

  • Try Addictive Drums!

  • Great video!

It would be awesome, if you would make some more videos, on how you work in your DAW, in the future.

  • Wish I had the cash for such recording methods and software. :(

Great video though, seems like it'd be real fun and simple to use!

  • dave,

do you know any free alternative?

  • @assassin0402 Hi, I know a free VSTi called "Bluenoise My Drumset". Just type that into google and you'll find the download link. It doesn't come with premade grooves but the sounds it comes with are very good quality. If you have no problem composing your own grooves then go with that.

  • Dave great lesson as always! And right on time too. I bought ezdrummer last night actually haha.

  • I usually go in and slightly randomize the dynamics and timing to create a human-like sound.

  • And you're not limited to the number of limbs the drummer has! It seems like there was a high hat and crash at the same time, which is realistic. I've been known to accidentally have a snare, crash and closed hat at the same time.

  • @fingerboy18 headbutt

  • I use this and Dave is right - it's simple, easy and sounds great.

Great tutorial - need to have some friends see this!

  • Dave that was very informative, even though I have this software, it was nice to get a good tutorial

  • Dave, your hat is awesome.

  • Dave: I use ezdrummer and superior drummer as well . it's such a great tool for all musicians.. everyone do yourself the favor and purchase these awesome softwares..regardless of style of music get them all the more grooves the better

  • Kool

  • Great Dave , I though you are using Logic ? did you switch back to pro tools ? Also wanted to know who won that guitar from the CD contest some months ago ? Thanks for taking the time .

  • @TheSAJ11 - I use both PT and Logic, but mostly PT now that they got rid of all the nonsense limitations with the release of 9.

As for the giveaway, it's still going on. Details on my site at daveweiner . com / giveaway
