  • The best.

A perfect example of the gods fucking with man.

  • best myth greeks movie ever made

  • well, i believe in the gods zeus , hades, etc but i also belive about science :)

  • Thank you so much for making this available.

  • what was wrong with clash of the titans

  • I wonder when modern day american film makers are planing to ruin this film with a horrible 3d remake like they did with clash of the titans.

  • I'm sure it was no fun for the horse =s. don't mean to spoil! I love it too! but Icouldn't help thinking that. sometimes good comes out of change =)

  • @goldsut I was wondering If I was the only 16 year old hahaha

  • one of the greatest sword and sandal movies ever in cinema

  • When you say 'most intelligently written film' meaning story line? There is no doubt that it did not earn monitarily or status wise as much as "7th Voyage of Sinbad" which most fans consider his FINEST film , not to mention one of 3 of Bernard Herrmann's greatest scores in his filmography. The creatures are much more fun and exciting as well. Not to take anything away from "Jason" but 7th Voyage, in my opinion, is Harryhausan's ultimate!

  • Thank you!!

  • does anyone know a movie about hercules 12 labours? i saw this movie first when i was about 8 and love it so much and clash of the titans but i can't find any movies about hercules thanks for the uploads anyways!

  • Just came home from a big-screen screening of this movie at a theater in Hollywood. If you ever get the chance, go and see it in a theater. Totally different experience.

Also on the bill was a less well-known (to me) Ray Harryhausen effects vehicle called Jack the Giant Killer which was a revelation to me. Really really really good film with much to recommend it.

  • honor blackman 8:50 was pussy galore in goldfinger

  • just imagine what he would have done with today's technology...

one of the best action movies of the decade!

  • @florinu123 MOvies aren't about technology or CGI. its about experience through story, characters or imagination.

but i think harry would do a poor job with CGI. he should stick to some good ol' stop motion with the help with some mordern techs and surprise the audiences.

  • Now that Clash got a remake, still waiting to see how they handle that story line, word is that they're gunna make Hades the bad guy... thats not even in the actual myth! Still should be good anyways. I hope that Jason gets a remake, that would be pretty awesome!

  • Hera, is so HOT...!!!! wow!!! ahahahaha

  • Let's go!

  • these are much better than movies now because now there holywoodiesed to hell like in the 300 an troy

  • the opening music theme from :01 to 1:48 still gives me shivers great start to great movie. Orchestra led by Bernard Hermann.

  • i came from kolchis :) im a kolcher

  • Does anyone ever get tired of this classic? Wonderful movie that makes you wonder in amazement the special effects genius of Harryhausen, the master

  • boy I loved this movie when I was little. THANKS A ALOT FOR POSTING THIS!!!

  • gr8 movie 1 of the best thxs m8

  • maybe i'm being fussy but i'm gonna download for best Q instead. STILL A GREAT FILM TO THIS DAY!

  • I have loved this film for as long as i can remember. Thanks a lot!

  • the seven headed snake and the evil bat thing is so animated

  • Douglas Wilmer, Laurence Naismith, and Patrick Troughton all appeared in the Laurence Olivier film Richard III 8 years prior to this movie. Interesting, huh?

  • The priestess at 7:00 is played by

Honor Blackman, who was John Steed's partner in The Avengers before Diana Rigg took the mantle, erh, the leather outfit.

  • This one is a lot BETTER than today's movies.

Even with all the CGI they cannot hold a candle to the these classics.

And music by Bernard Herrmann, one of my favourites composers :-)

  • Thanks for the movie. I was too young to understand the conversation when my dad took me to the cinema.

  • whats the name of the movie with the golden fleece

  • This is one of my favourite film of all time!

  • Man, I've wanted to see this for so long! Thanks a bundle!

  • Jason and the Argonauts were based on the classic greek myths. And a whole lot more.

  • 1 thing wrong with this is the oracle of delphie is supposed 2 be a butiful maiden not an old man

  • My favorite fantasy movie as a kid. Thanks! I'm sure it will hold up nicely and keep that spot, or at least stay in the top ten upon reviewing.

  • I love this movie (even though it came out WAY before I was born)! I used to watch it with my dad when I was little. The introduction music is still awesome as ever! :D

Too bad modern movies aren't as cool. :c

  • Very helpful for giving an insightful background into the story of Medea for studying classical studies in school!

  • This was a 1963 film?!? Oh hell, my MOTHER wasn't even born when this film was shown!...

I love epic and mythical movies, and all but why do those movies have to be dated WAY back then??.. No offense to those who elder people... hehehe

  • OMG i saw this when i was like 6

i couldnt get enough of it lol

my dad says he remembers when it was in the theater as the "back up film" (back then u payed for two movies and u could walk out of the first if u didnt like it and see the back up one)

and it was better than the main movie! lol

  • for some reason i like the old classic movies from the U.S. better then those of today. The actors arent that good as now, but they took everything out of the closet for those flicks, look at the ten commandments, the robe, spartacus etc etc. Nice !

  • I agree, I like watching these old movies, becuase back then it realy took hard work to produce the effects that they used, and I always love watching them, nowadays they just do it all with the computer, I like watching real models being put into shots with real people and interacting with them, I guess i am just nolstalgic, im not sure if i spelled that right.

  • Now this is how a fantasy movie is done!

  • remeber this man, lol better then sinbad

  • this was one of my family's all time favs growing up - we'd purposefully look at the t.v. guide every Sunday hoping it would be on. thanx for the upload

  • The background music, the acting and the setting cannot ever be duplicated. Actors then did it for the art not for the money. This movie draws you in to it from start to finish.

  • @PaulineWalters agreed!

  • I was really young when I first saw this.

The only two movies I liked back then:

    1. Jason and the Argonauts

    2. Clash of the Titans

  • one of my all time fave movies

  • Best movie of all time, both my parents were history and classics teachers... i got hold of this video in prep and it became my after school movie for about 3 years...never got bored of it!!!!

  • Jason appeared in various literature in the classical world of Greece and Rome, including the epic poem Argonautica and tragedian play, Medea. In the modern world, Jason has emerged as a character in various adaptations of his myths, such as the film Jason and the Argonauts. Jason has connections outside of the classical world, as he is seen as being the mythical founder of the city of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia.

  • That Goddess is so cool

  • 1963 whoa i wasn't born in that year.

  • EXCELLANT FILM!!!

One of my favorites from childhood!

Years later, we were studying Greek mythology in school and my class got to see it on the BIG screen in our school auditorium.

  • Fantastic theme! Bernard Herrmann was the greatest, and the Royal Philharmonic sure had a beautiful-sounding tam tam! :)

  • They don't make em like this any more. They should. Apparently a remake of Clash of the Titans is currently in production. Let's hope it's not a turkey.

  • honestly it probably is :/ but lets hope its not haha

  • a remake really? Oh NO they will butcher it, u know they will THUD!

  • i fear that it maybe, check out who the director is, yep the very same turkey that farted out Terminator Salvination .. :S

  • Sigh, McG.

I don't know how they see "talent" in these schmucks.

  • Stop motion like this one is nice, but I still prefer animatronic puppets by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. You should see the gorgon they made for The Storyteller, I think it looks better than the Clash of the Titans medusa.

  • The remake of JATA was just awful!

  • Also,Douglas Wilmer, who plays King Pelias, appeared later in Golden Voyage of Sinbad,as the Royal Vizier, the man in the golden mask.

  • Believable. This is how you spell believable :]

  • ehehe when he kill the bitch she sream like a pig

  • great movie !

  • This film is awesome, brings back childhood memories never to be repeated

  • thanks so much! (; haha, i fell asleep in english while watching this & i have a test on it -___-. Hah, life saaaaver!

  • You're in luck, achoo. Clash of the Titans will be remade for 2011. Details on IMDB.

  • one of the best films of all time!

  • i love this movie! it's a classic! i grew up watching this! The 7th voyage of Sinbad was also a classic fave of mine growing up. i love movies of ancient Greek myths!

  • Everyone else along with my dad are always talking about when they saw this as a kid and now im following in there footsteps trying to relive wat my dad lived when he wnt to double feature movies for a buck. i wish they made movies like these today the graphics were more balievable. when you see movies now a days you dont come out and say those where really balevable effects no! now a days you say those where good CG effects which is kinda sad... Wow that was a long comment!

  • i feel EXACTLY the same as you.

  • The action starts fast, and Ray Harryhausen is a legend.

  • Haha, i like the cyclops ''that lamp is mine'' expression. LOL

    Great movie, btw. ;)

  • Thank you so much for a classsic upload.. good to see people still have taste in movies :) x

  • i'll second that!!

  • Whoa! I just saw the credits, and HOLY CRAP! Patrick Troughton is in this film?

That's like one of the Doctors (from Doctor Who). How awesome is that?

  • GREAT, GREAT , MOVIE... av watched it severally nw,,can someone plz upload THE GOLDEN VOYAGE OF SINBAD...its great also...

  • This is such a great movie! It's always on around easter i've noticed.

  • holy friggin crap!!!! I <3 this move. thanks for uploading. muah

  • man this movie owns! i remember when ifirst saw it in betamax lol! chilhood days...

  • By far, the best 'mythology' film from the collaboration of Charles Schneer and Ray Harryhausen! From the creepiness of the winged harpies to the ominous, towering colossus, Talos, this classic fantasy was deserving (but, unfortunately, overelooked) of Oscar status for its incredible special effects and entertaining storyline! One of my all-time favorites as a child, and a fond memory of how good 'family' motion pictures used to be!

  • Hera,Zeus and Hermes are the only greek gods that are shwon in this film?

  • Technically Hercules, too. But then again he's half god, half mortal.

  • yes that means he is one of the Nephilim

  • Wasnt Posidon and Hephaestus suppose to be in it?

  • does this have any greek gods in it????

  • Hera Zeus Hermes

  • Yes,that IS Patrick Troughton,Doctor #2 ,as Phineas the Blinded Man.He also appeared in Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger,as Melanthius the Sage of Casgar, father of Dione.

  • wen i first herd f this was wen the game rse of the argronauts was out and i wanted to wach it its AMAZING!

  • Thanks for uploading.

  • i love this film, i never get bored watching it, and its just amazing now as when i first watched it when i was little. Harryhausen effects are just was wonderful

  • That woman who dissappeared in the temple...was she Hera? o.O Maybe, I guess...

  • Hera appearing to King Polios.

  • i really love the movie!!

  • a film truly graced by the gods of olympus!

  • no wait, a flying sword! was it sinbad?

  • Sounds like "The Golden Voyage of Sinbad", the one with Tom Baker as the villain.

  • which was the movie were the guy was fighting an invisible sword?

  • my all-time favorite flick! thanks for posting!

  • This is truly a timeless classic - Reminds of Christmas cos its always on TV every Christmas time.

  • i miss this kind of special effects. timeless, not CG.

  • Exactly. CG looks fake and plastic, stop motion effects have life and substance to them. I remember someone said that this film should be remade with a Lord of the Rings budget. I said hell no, leave it alone.

  • Honor Blackman? Wow. I didn't know that.

  • This movie is a vivid part of my childhood. Thanx for uploading it!!!

  • ive always loved classics! thanks alot =) looking for this type of movies for loooong ass time man..

  • thanx for uploading this
