i supose you also equalized the tone right? btw im thinking of buying this but im not sure cuz ive made wrong choices, can you please tell me, is it safe to buy this if ive got 200$?? is it decent? is the tone in the vid the raw tone out of it or a little tweaked by you??
@lotrringereras I created my own tone using only the gear included with the UX2 and PODfarm. You have loads of gear to choose from, it's just up to you to get the sound that's in your head. Obviously, the UX2 is not the only option for you and I'm sure there are plenty of great alternatives out there, but the UX2 works for me..!
@lotrringereras All you need to record this is the UX2 and PODfarm to do the guitar tones and Riffworks to do everything else.. the drums are just the ones that come in riffworks.
@opilus thanks for such a quick reply man :) and yeahh im considerin changin them on my strat style guitar, is that bridge on the same as dimebag used on his 'dime from hell' ? cheers again man :)
@opilus i will try out the L-500XL then aswell as i play heavy stuff haha :') apparantly the rail design means its really good at cutting through the mix? and i tried a dimebucker but i didnt like it, it was too sharp, not warm enough and wass not really a very good representation of dime's early sounds :)
Urmm not necessarily.. if you dial your EQ right on the amp then that can effect the place of the guitar in the mix.. the rail designs main benifit is that theres no string drop out when you bend a note.. but it might add treble..? not sure.. magnet type is the other big influence, but its all pretty subjective.. my advice is just to go for whatever you want, as it will always be a good improvement over most stock pickups..
@aalexcp it's an instant drummer pattern from the riffworks programme, it's the pattern called 'Habanero bridge', it was already on the programme when i installed it, it's not a downloaded pattern.. tweak the instensity and variation dials to get the right pattern..
well for this track i used riffworks and ableton, so if you you were using riffworks by itself, theres a gain dial and a pan dial for each riff layer, in ableton its a lil more tricky.. theres a few ways to do it, but i think the easiest way is to click the orange box in each track and drag to adjust level, a red line will also appear on the track when you click that box, which you can use to fade in/out etc etc.. hope that helps..
i can't remember to be honest! i tend to use the chemical X amp model with the blue comp treb. pedal, the line 6 compressor , a noise gate, the semiparametric 4 band EQ with the mids lowered and the bass turned up and the medium hall reverb with the mix turned up quite high, that sounds awsome. other than that, maybe try the class A-30 with the classic distortion pedal.. i think the most important part of this tone though is the bill lawrence humbucker, its pretty powerful so it sounds massive..
yeh if you were gonna record live drums then a mixer is the way to go i think.. if its just like micing an acoustic or vocals then use the mic input on the UX1. i think the UX2 has phantom power for the mic aswell though so if you need that then i suggest you check the spec on the ux1. i literally just record my electric atm so i could of just gone for the UX1 or the really basic one.. (gx?) theres built in pre-amps as well just to let you know.. hope that helps
would you suggest running the guitar through a mixer if you were to add a mic or should i get the line six ux2 or the line six ux1 plus a mic pre amp im not rele shure what to get i kinda wanna do some live drum recording but that take a mixer

What pickups are on your guitar dude? nice playin man, are they bill lawrences? :)
jjevansj 1 year ago
@jjevansj yeh they're bill lawrence USA pickups ( i don't think they're the "bill and becky" ones cos they have "Bill Lawrence USA" stamped on them)..
L-500L in the bridge position (not as hot as the XL)
L-250s middle and neck
If your in the market for them check out the "wilde pickups" website.. they're the hand made ones and should sound better..
Regards

@jjevansj
Im not really sure which model he used in his guitars, but i assume it would be the more extreme version (i.e. the L-500XL)
You might wanna look at the Seymour Duncan "Dimebucker" aswell, especially if youre after a dimebag type tone, they're supposed to be pretty heavy..
Hope that helps

ok, it sounds professional, there is sth more to it than just the box, or maybe your playing - really great
