Skoro i vy budete pisat', chto zabyli pro lyubovnikov i tol'ko slushaete ego, chto dazhe svoe bel'e stirat' ne mozhete.Primite kholodnyi dush!

  • So why is Jaroussky amplified and Scholl isn't? It's very easy to hear this.

  • @arpeggio1358 Absolutely! It's a trick to attract more people to concert halls. Scholl is a real countertenor with proper operatic technique and breath control. But PJ is just a pop singer who has some ability to produce only weak sweet, nausetically sugary sounds and with Scholl his miserable efforts in singing wouldn't be heard without any amplification. He need mike. But it's market, and people make money on anything, like fast food owners claim that their food is healthy and has low fat! LOL

  • @serenaluce PJ's fans will never go to any of Scholl's other videos to compare..and find out that Scholl doesn't need a mic. Also, many of them probably can't hear the difference between an amplified voice and an unamplified voice. PJ is definitely amplified here and Scholl isn't...pJ has to have a hidden mic.

  • @arpeggio1358 - Interesting, that you and serenaluce seem to be the only people who can tell the difference between a miked and unmiked voice. How interesting that is...

And speaking as someone who actually saw Jaroussky live last summer, well, if he was miked in Niobe, then the entire cast was...which they weren't. I asked one of the BEMF board members.

Of course serenaluce will now accuse me (and the BMEF board member) of lying.....

  • @serenaluce - you really have a low opinion of Scholl, it seems, since your comments indicate that not only is he not good enough to fill a concert hall by himself, he has to associate with the early music equivalent of Sarah Brightman.

Of course it's not true - Scholl fills concert halls very nicely on his own, and Jaroussky can sing on his own. But since you won't listen to people who've actually heard Jaroussky dominate an operatic stage unmiked (like me), oh well.

    *yawns*

  • @evansquilt And you are the only person who thinks you can prove it on YT that PJ doesn't have any hidden mike which is ridiculous. All you can express here is only OPINION.You can't attach any MATERIAL proof that you checked PJ and didn't find any hidden mike. All I have is my ears and I hear that PJ has a small untrained falsetto which can't sound as loud as Scholl's voice unless it's artificially amplified which they use in show business. Why Pavarotti sang with pop singers then?Low self-esteem?

  • @serenaluce Did you see evansquilt's comment that you think of PJ as the "early music equivalent of Sarah Brightman"? I think it's a perfect description of PJ. Shall we use it in future comments? I certainly intend to.

  • @arpeggio1358 It's a perfect description indeed, but even too good for PJ as Sarah Brightman IMO has more variations and doesn't only sing monotonously on one note like PJ. I think it's a great honour for PJ to be compared with Sarah Brightman or Katherine Jenkins as they at least sing like sexy women, and he pretends that he is "an angel" or a teenage boy. When a supposedly mature man sings without balls and just plays with his fingers and makes touching "innocent" faces it makes him sexless:-)

  • @serenaluce You have a higher opinion of Brightman than I do. I think it's a perfect description of PJ. Granted Brightman and Jenkins sing like pretty women, but they're still on a par with PJ in that they are all popera singers, not opera singers.

  • Amazing!

  • OMG; I would have LOVED to assist this concert.... I too am sad that there is no CD available - I would have loved to buy it!

Although, even though Andreas seems to really be unwell, I shall keep him as my all time counter tenor hero :)

Thank you so much for the joy you gave me with this post!

    Kiki

  • Excelent!!!

  • I was there!! :)

  • Bravo!

  • J'ai assisité à ce concert , mais au Théâtre des Champs Elysées, quelques jours plus tard. Magnifique !

  • why is the public laughing? was this given as a funny encore? what did they do? can it be seen somewhere, PLEASE???!!!

  • @raczjudit It's meant to be funny. Because they are switching between head voice and chest voice, which they normally don't use.

  • Amazing! Two of the best countertenors singing together.

Unfortunately, the sound quality of this recording is not very good...

Is this concert available as CD or at least can you download this song as mp3 somewhere???

  • @Jairdan this concert is not available on CD

I'll send you this song, just send me your e-mail.

  • Was this at the Beaux-Arts de Bruxelles in December??? I was there!! But Scholl had a very big cold and a fever from the looks of him... I got autographs from both after the concert!!

  • @Guichotpresident Yes, It was there :)

  • @Guichotpresident

Did his voice suffer from this substantially ??? Or was it still an awesome concert???

  • @Jairdan his power and vocal dinamic were affected but Scholl is just a man who can overcome that and give an AWESOME concert! I was disappointed by one of my favourites (Music for a while), but I think it was Jaroussky who sang it, someone correct me if I'm wrong. But the "Cold Song" by Scholl was absolutely otherworldly and got me to my feet clapping!

  • @Guichotpresident I watched a version of that concert last year at Barbican Centre, Scholl was the one who sang Music for a while, i definitely prefer Jaroussky to sing it. Scholl sang Cold Song as a bonus song at the end of the concert and it was absolutely amazing.

I don't know what the audience's laughing at too much in this video. Jaroussky pretended like he is having a heart attack while he was singing very long aria and Scholl lowered his voice sometimes, these were the all from Barbican.

  • @awfulguitarplaying yeah, and they always do that, so it's getting slightly old :p But both are elite countertenors, I love them!

  • Ce fut une soirée inoubliable

  • Great fun and amazing pleasure! Thank you!
