@collegediva19 a wonderful British cellist called Steven Isserlis and Pacal Devoyon on piano. Both are extremely talented and highly recommended. Hope that helps :)
This piece has always reminded me of a French or English knight riding along a lonely stretch of road with dusk approaching. Solitude combined with beauty. My now-deceased and resplendent wife, Barbra, loved this music. It is like her -- lovely and eternal.
This is one of my favorite performances of "Sicilienne." I wonder who the performers are? They're excellent. So is the audio quality of this video. Thank you!
This is probably from the album "Complete Gabriel Faure- Works for Cello, Steven Isserlis (cello), Pascal Devoyon (piano). Its available on amazon.com
My mom told me she used to put me on her back and dance around for hours until I fell asleep with this song on. Maybe that's why I get such an overwhelming sense of peace when I hear this song.
I love Faure
