I think Seattle will get a team soon. Probably when the Hornets move. I just hope they get to keep the SuperSonics name and logo and all that. A new name would be really stupid. Like Houston not getting to keep the Oilers name and logo. So stupid. Should be illegal.

The biggest problem with sports in the US (at least in my opinion) is the lack of diehard-devoted fans of clubs in general. The majority of the supporters belong to different categories, so when the cry goes out for a rally - much fewer respond than the needed numbers.
The point of this is that teams are made by fans money (tickets, merchantise, jerseys) and fans support. If OKC needed a team badly there were other teams as well. Look at L.A. Why allow two teams in one market? Bennett targeted Sonics for 2 reasons: Ball history and -DURANT-. He needs a franchise player, he got a franchise player. And the Seattle people who had been paying all these years for tickets/jerseys/items and supported their team got what in return?

I grew up in Seattle but was born in Portland. I was a full-time Blazer fan and a part-time Sonics fan, I took a lotta shit from kids at school in the neighborhood because of this. But when the Blazers sucked, Seattle usually filled the void. It's a shame that the I-5 rivalry is no more- those were always awesome games to watch- and then gloat to all the kids that made fun of me about how the Blazers won. Still, Seattle deserves a team.

No team sells when they struggle its hard....the cavs didn't sell until they got LeBron James...Patience is what u need in a pro team and wait for the better..and sonics went to OKC 2 seasons before they got better...today the arena in Seattle would of been sold out due to Seattle being good and Durant being one of the top 10 in the NBA. People in Seattle would love to get around Durant and cheer him on...and the Rivalry with Brandon Roy in the Blazers...

im not saying seattle wouldnt support the team. well now they are good, and durant is one of the top 10 in the nba, and at least 7-9 out of 10 games are sold out. i know i hate the way things went, but we desperatly need this team too, so OUR market can grow, and we get more noticed. i know but now look at the rivalries with the thunder and the texas teams. if you dont know, oklahoma and texas have a huge sports rivarly. ive been to a mavs,spurs, and rockets game. texas jerseys everywhere.

OKC is a very small market...Seattle is a big City with a big Economy and not to have a NBA team,thats the same like L.A not having an NFL team...It be cool if OKC did get a team like Cha got with the Bobcats...But Seattle needs an NBA team its too big of a city not to have one....Memphis and OKC is not to strong enough to have pro teams..I think those City Need to move to cities like San Diego thats a huge city NO nba team..and Seattle.

I grew up in Seattle but was born in Portland. I was a full-time Blazer fan and a part-time Sonics fan, I took a lotta shit from kids at school in the neighborhood because of this. But when the Blazers sucked, Seattle usually filled the void. It's a shame that the I-5 rivalry is no more- those were always awesome games to watch- and then gloat to all the kids that made fun of me about how the Blazers won. Still, Seattle deserves a team.

We'll get another team in Seattle soon. It's sad when any team leaves their city, especially after being there for more than 40 years! But, however it happened, just know as fans that we will get another team and for now, I still look to see how OKC did in the morning paper. In my heart it's still my team until we get a new one. All this bashing of cities is stupid. At least we keep the history. Thats the most important part. Shawn and Gary WILL have their numbers retired in Seattle.
