I used to love seeing this every Saturday morning on NBC and years later, every Saturday night on Cartoon Network. Though it was short, I for some reason loved this show.
They aired this show on Boomerang one year. Not sure for how long. It might have just been a 1 airing fluke, but it was on at 2 AM, and not on their regular line up. I miss the 80s and early 90s before 1993.
Yet another psychotic 90's children's show. I always got this guy confused with Pee Wee Herman. He is sort of a cross between Pee Wee Herman and Alfalfa. Really twisted show in a way but yeah this takes me waaaay back to my earliest days
@PedroyItatiFan I think you are referring to Martin Short's "Irving Cohen" character, who appeared in an episode of the Ed Grimley cartoon series (after having appeared in various SCTV sketches). And I think he usually said, "Give me a C, a bouncy C"...
Is it just me, or did this cartoon come out WAY after the fact?? i remember the ed grimley skits on SNL back in the day and it feels like the cartoon should have come out earlier then it did, p.s. the cartoon aired on NBC.
@sneakerthekid The cartoon came on in 1987 and the Ed Grimley sketches were on SNL in 1985 (though SCTV aired them first in 1982, 1983-ish. Someone correct me).
Talk about pure GOLD! Is this a real show? I love RARE shows like this. I wish The Hub, or Cartoon Network would focus on getting blocks of these to air on Saturday & Sunday Mornings. Imagine the ratings they could get. All of us retro fans now have kids, nephews, young cousins. We would watch it, then also get the kids in our family to watch it. Networks would make money on shows they don't even pay to produce now. Why can't they get that in their heads? Thumbs this up, and spread the idea.
@suspekt29 Yup. I remember flipping through the channels at 2 AM and it being on. Not a good hour for it. But this was made in the late 80s I think and I remember watching it on one of the 3 stations CBS, NBC, or ABC.
@suspekt29 It was on Cartoon network too in early 90's every friday afternoon just before the Adam's Family (first cartoon adaptation version) I always find it weird and boring... But loved the intro.
I liked watching repeats of this in the mid-1990s (the same channel also repeated several other long-forgotten 1980s shows around the same period, which resulted in me being a 90s child with memories of obscure 80s cartoons).
Oh. Wow. I had completely forgotten about this show until now. I remembered the character of Ed Grimley, and I knew it was Martin Short, but I forgot this cartoon even existed! I used to watch it all the time. And seeing Count Floyd in the intro was like coming home again. Hahaha.
My friend is gone...and I'm feeling quite blue...Oh, that I could turn back the hands of time...past that mime... and eat some stew with you.... Ed Grimley (on the loss of his pet goldfish Moby, "I must say")
WOOW i forgot about this! this is amazing!
