  • This discussion is totally unimportent :) Musik is Musik i can even use my spoon to make musik dont get philosophic

  • @Bud4137 thanks :)

  • I don't know why everyone is complaining about us people using these intruments instead. I play guitar, piano, drums, and various other instruments. I am also a big fan of remixing old pieces made by famous composers into progressive house or dubstep. It's quite fun. But i consider this to be a more interactive way to make music if you don't really know anyone else who is as musically inclined as you are. Plus, you are free to create almost anything with these instruments.

  • Lol. I think playing a physical instrument is easier to be honest. I also do synthesis and it's a lot harder cause you have to sort of imagine how you want it to sound and whether that sound you are using is quite right. With my instruments i know what it sounds like i just gotta make the melody. this stuff isn't as easy, i used to have the same opinion and now i use the stuff it's hard -.- .

  • @koncertLive - Just because an instrument's interface appears simple does not mean it is simple. Try playing hand drums - looks easy, but the nuances are very hard to produce. Similarly, the Irish whistle looks simple, but it requires real skill to play well. Finally, don't even get me started on the digeridoo - a primitive tribal instrument that is not easy to master in any manner.

  • @koncertLive as a guitar player for 20 years, i can tell you it's much harder to be MUSICAL on those than it is on a guitar, guitar is easy, piano too, but that needs perfect technique, there is no frets nor keys

  • nah koncertlive. i just got an oscillating pad i wrote several nice songs with it in a matter of minutes compared to a song written on piano or guitar. nothing can replace sheer talent. anyone with an ear for a beat and the abiility to create a melody can utilize the pads.

  • @muzik4machines yes but it's not as easy as you see it.

  • @houseeka what is not as easy as i see? (or you replied to the wrong comment?)

  • @koncertLive Stop complaining and just get on of these too. It is an instrument.

  • @koncertLive . Kocert is a dumbf***! Get with the program, I bet you are some hippie on an aucostic thinking you'll be the next Bob Dylan or Neil Young but the only thing you have in common with them is kneeling and bobbing. This is about ideas and breaking out of the old ways that have given Americans the lazy label. You are stupid! Good work Muzik, I got alot of the same stuff and I know the difference between a lazy uninformed ass like this guy and somebody making the move.

  • @koncertLive

It consider a musical instrument, the yellow ones is a synthesizer the red one is a FX processor. I been playing a grand panio, analog synthesizer and electric and acoustic guitar since small. I still pickup a kaossilator pro and KP3 to do loops and effects with as I create alot of electronic music and to give a 80's effect You can even plug your keyboards and guiltar to the line level in on the back to record and create some cool effects.

  • @RetroPCDOS exactly :)

  • @koncertLive I once thought like you but after using the Kaossilator, I know that these are instruments that the musician must be very involved with in order to produce something worth listening to.

  • kaossilator out in mini kp in, mini out into kaoss pad 3 input

  • how to you have all this hooked up dude?

  • @slickpimp66 There are Input and Output /inlet/outlet ports on all of the Korg Kaossilators ..... Its very simple To work out....

  • So being new to DJ and such ive decided on getting a Koass Pad and a Numark mix deck will they collaborate together or is that a dumb move?

  • @coolioj2 if the numark has an fx send its even better, but u can always put it on the main out and fx the whole mix

  • really chilled tune, love it

  • @RaialMusic thanks a lot mate :)

  • hey i have all 3 of those too!!

  • thats sick mate! as someone who has both, could you tell me the difference between the kaossilator and the mini KP?

  • @SuperKierann the kaossilator is a phrase synthesizer, meaning it actually has synth sounds in it, along with some drum loops. the kp-1 is an effect box. it adds in things like modulation or delay and reverb, with the x and y axes on the touchpad linked to parameters of the effect.

  • eargasm

  • @MRMarshmallowMonkey thanks a lot :)

  • Beautifull!!

  • @theHackerOfMayhem thanks

  • how much did you spend all in all on your setup?

  • @pomfrit93 less than the price of the cables and roadcases

  • @muzik4machines ;). why dont you have a machinedrum? that would be perfect for your setup :D

  • @pomfrit93 cause it costs more than everything in the setup :( (and it's too big, i'd need another 500$ roadcase to fit it in)

  • @muzik4machines arh damn. that would just be perfect for your setup. if you wish to upgrade the esx at any time ;) you could always buy second hand

  • @muzik4machines :D nice

  • @funkyVibes thanks

  • simply beautiful! & i love your setup! ;)

  • @EmbryonikMusic thanks a lot

  • chido

  • at the start i had the urge to say big mac,

ever heard the mac donalds rap? LOL

ts ts k t-ts ts k bigg macc

  • a dream comes true -.-

  • @timodercoole :-)

  • MIND BLOWING SOUND. Keep it up the great music.

  • @lokvirsa thanks a lot :)

  • Excellent video ~ now you just need a Kaosslitor Pro! =P (unless you've one)

  • @hangcrepe i know, care to lend me 415$ lol?

  • @muzik4machines lol, if i can play with the Kaossilator AND the mini-kp/KP3 =PP

  • How do you connect all of these, through a mixer or computer and then you get the final sound through speakers? TNX man!

  • @alowgroover mini kaossilator into mini kp direct into 1 mixer in

kaos pad audio in on aux send 1, kaoss return on track 2

when i go out and play with them live (only them) i plug te mini outs direct in the kp3 ins, kp3 out direct to the PA system

  • Can the Korg KP3 Kaoss Pad Dynamic Effects Sampler do every thing the Korg mini-KP Dynamic Effect Processor does? what are the main differences?

  • besides operating on batteries yes, but it does way more, apsmplin, vocoders, etc

  • i like it.

  • thanks a lot :)

  • Aww. poor electribe. you left her out of the description. But yeah, def fun easy elect jam situation.

  • cause its not used

  • can you explain to me why have a mini kp and a kp3? isn't the kp3 just a better mini kp?

  • just because lol

sometimes i go out with just the 2 minis for smaller gigs, and i couldnt let a piece of gear unused (especially not a brand new one) so i found a place to fit it in the setup

  • nice

  • thanks :)

  • Good timing!

  • thanks

  • I love the Kaossilator & KP3 combination (I own them too) , it's such a creative & relaxing workflow and also my girlfriend (no knowledge about synthesis etc) loves them too for long midnight sessions. Recommendable - you'll love it :)

  • thanks

i'll love having a girlfriend whom can play the kaoss? hell yes, but im in no such luck

  • I just got a Kaossilator for christmas and i love it. Alot of people seem to have it with the KP3 combo. Can you tell me what does the KP3 does? Sorry for asking silly questions but im new to all this?

  • @badboyrhythmdub kp3 has 4 little sampler buttons that let you record 4 loops... and it has a whole ton of built in effects like echos / flanges / etc. i have both but i tend to use effects on my computer more than the KP3

  • Im getting a EMX-1 , i would get a KP3, but £439 + £300 is a little much for me in one go. Unless i get the KP3 second hand.

could you help me decide. Buy a MiniKP now along with my EMX-1, or wait for a year to get a KP3?

  • get a mini now, youll find a use for it when youll get the kp3, don't worry

wort case scenario, you sell the mini and you don't loose a lot cause their value stas pretty much the same unless you destroy it

  • 1 Cuestion....If you had a kaoss pad 3 is useful the kaossilator?! or yo can do the same things with the kaoss pad 3!?

    Thanks 4 the help!

  • no the kaossilator is a synthesizer, while the kaoss pad 3 is an fx unit with 3-4 "synth" sounds

  • @muzik4machines

Ok thanks 4 the info.I allready own a kaoss pad 2,and have some sounds.

    Sorry 4 my english!

    Godd music!

  • so with the kaossilator and the kp3 i can make beats on the kaossilator, sample them into the kp3 and go nuts from there??

  • exactly

the mini kp is really there because i have it, it's like delay only

the reason i have i is that i can take both minis out on the street with a mini amp and have a totally portable electro set with me, but in the main kit or in this medium kit, the KP3 does most of the job of filling the holes when i "fix" the kaossilator loop

  • okay. with the kp3 can i take samples and accelerate them and change the pitch?? and i can sample anything that can plug into the input like an ipod or even something from television

  • yes, be warned tho the tempo change changes the pitch too, like a turntable (unlike ableton live for example)

can be pretty annoying to try and stay in key, but doubling or halving works perfect

anything plugged in the input, or any sample pad thru fx or synths of the kp3 in resampling mode

  • if its not too much to ask for can u make a video of the tempo changes, making a sample, and saving it all to a computer or whatever u save it to?

also my last question is can this be used as a stand-alone unit??

    thanks for the answers :)

  • ill try (and actually have already done a few where i exploited the problem) but if i have time after my one hour live set ill do it, but just in the KP, i never ever used the software

i can but really benefits form an audio input, be it just a mic or ipod or a computer or kaossilator

  • so you mean that it can work by itself and an ipod for example and doesn't need any computer programs??

and yeah pls make that vid if u have time

  • yes just the kp3 and an ipod could do

as i told you,k if i have time ill do it, im pretty booked today gig and recording

if i do it will be on musicformachines channel

  • video uploading, should be on musicformachines account in 10-15 minutes

  • thanks :)

  • my pleasure

  • hey sorry to der again, but you know if the kp3 and the dr sampler 3032 have similar efects? thanks.

  • same typ emaybe, but quality and versatility, no

the 303 is a pretty old box, and the effects are pretty basic and not that numerous(like 32)

the KP3 has about 128 fx, 10-12 delays, 10 or so filters, and so on, so there is more variety

also the KP3 effects are way more modern (loopers, grain shifters, etc) than the 303

  • eii thanks man , really usefull info.

  • hi, man i would like to know if its no problem, whats your opinion on buying a kp3 or a dr sampler 303, is one the upgrade of the other or their just diferent sampling machines. thanks if send dome help.

  • totally different uses, the kp3 is more a loop sampler, realtime stuf, the 303 is more a load your samples offline and play them using the pads/sequencer

  • what can you do with an electribe? im thinking of buying the mx version

  • pretty much anything that can fit into 8 bars, almost every electronic genre besides DnB that sounds a bit repetitive

  • aight thanks. is it easy to use? im clueless with electronic music and junk, im thinking of getting the kaossilater and kp3 instead of the mx cuz it seems more user friendly. what do you think

  • really depends wheter you want to program and keep patterns(electribe) or if you want isntant gratification that is lost when you turn it off(kaossilator)

if you know music and theory, youll be at ease with both, if you are clueless about notation and theory, the kaossilator/KP3 combo will appeal to you more i think

  • aight thanks. im a drummer of 6 years with basic knowledge f theory. im gonna take the course next year

  • then i suggest the tribe, the kaossilator is more of a toy in my opinion, electribe and kaoss pad 3 make a pretty nice set tho, no need for a mixer with the tribe audio ins :)

  • perfect! thanks for all the help!

  • no prob, my pleasure

  • you have got a kp3 why do you use a kp mini?

  • 1st because i have it

2nd because it helps fill the gaps when i stop the kaossilator while still using the KP3 as a loop recorder, they both have their use

  • super

  • thanks :)

  • Amazing! Just curious whats sitting to the left of the Kaoss Pad? I've seen it before don't remember what it's called though.

  • to the left of the kaoss pad 3 is a korg electribe SX, and to the left of th emini kaoss pad it's a kaossilator

  • Excellent!

  • thank you

  • awesome job!

  • thanks

  • How much is that KP3?

  • i paid 400 canadian $ the day it got out, probably less today

  • cool, thanx

  • no prob

  • korg should pay you for promoting their products... they should even use your vids in order to show their products capabilities

  • i really wish, but in order to get sponsored, they told me i had to have at least 1 physical album out (and it exclude the one i have on iTunes store), but maybe if random people like you emailled them pointing them to those vdeos they would chnage their minds :)

  • is not a bad idea... i have seen a lot of your vids (specially the ones on the EMX and ESX... and you show all their potential...

  • i also wish i had an eMx :) i could do chords

    thanks a lot :)

  • well... i personally think that if you already have the ESX, buying an EMX is just the same thing but more limited... i am not into "prepatched" synths (i personally dont think they are real synths, i see them as sound libraries)... for me, the interesting thing about the ESX and EMX is the sequencer... if i was you i would buy a radias if you are looking for huge and powerfull synthesis (with polyphony)...

  • i know, but with 5 polyphonic tracks you can make chords, which you can't do on the esx

also, the eMx is virtual analog, not a rompler (4 VA, 1 rompler IIRC) based on the MS2000(radias ancestor)

i much prefer real analogs(MKS50, JX3p) or non specific modelling(like the nord modular) over a fixed architecture synth like the radias(don't get me wrong, its a powerfull synth, but not for my needs, and its way too big anyway to fit in my already cramped rig)

the e(SM)x sequencer is nice but too

  • limited for my taste, i mean my MC505 in 1998 had 8 poly step sequence tracks, not limited to monophonic lines, and way more editing(resolution was at least 96 PPQN, unlike the E(SM)X that is like 4(or 8 in double time) PPQN, which is pretty lame, and no groove except for the swing(even the MPC60 had tha 20 years ago)

but i like the immediacy of the tribes. i'll just find a 505 or a 909 (hint, anyone who sells one message me) and incorporate it just for sequencing(the sounds are dated)

  • yeah ...i thought you only sequenced with the ESX... i use an akai mpc 500 and is amazing, i havent been able to try any korg (although i do use a KP2, and a radias)... as well i use a step sequencer on my modular (doepfer, mfb, analogue systems) but this is not so user-friendly as the mpc, although is MUCH more powerfull...i do own a nord micromodular and is an amazing little magic box... really usefull for live gigs...

  • i had the micro back in 1999, sold it and finally bought a new one 3-4 months ago, i missed it SO much

at the moment i only sequence on the ESX as it's all I have(sold the 505, want to buy another one or a 909)

the only thing that is not sequenced from the ESX is the DX200, which has it's own 1 bar sequencer, and the ER1, which is it's own drum machines(i use it for all distorted/whawah drums on the right out and the left out is my sidechain signal to have the MKS, DX and TX81z all pumpy

  • kaossilator

  • hi, ive got a microKORG and was wonderin.. wud i b able to conect a kaosspad to it to edit the sounds? if so which one is the best for that? also does the kaossilator have drums programed in or do u hav to play them?? plz reply thanxs.. gr8 vid

  • to modify the sound of the microkorg, the mini kp, as it's an effect

kaossilator has IIRC 9 drum patterns with either 1 or 4 variations, with the same cheezy sounds as in the kaoss pads instead of real 909 samples lol

there is also 8 "percussion/drums" sounds that are one shots so you can also play a beat by hand

  • thanks :) also does the KP3 have drums or do u hav to put them in as a sample? please reply

  • again, 3-4 drum loops with 4 variations each plus a couple of one shots

  • If I want to just edit songs which one would you recomend, the black one?

  • to edot somgs?

not sure i get what you mean but i'd say neither, to edit songs you are still better with a computer and live|logic|cubendo|etc(and maybe soundforge)

the yelow allows 8 beats with one layer, not useable to edit

the kaoss pad 3 has 4 loops that can be muted, it can be used for that

the esx is basicaly a sampler, so it usefull to "remix" songs

  • hey muzik i'm thinking of buying the maybe if you heard of the Korg Padkontrol, but is that a good thing to buy, or should i go for the Kaosillator (the yellow one) i like hardstyle, techno & trance all those genres for music production / creation, hope for your answer, thanks for advice from video rated 5/5 and fav =)

  • they are 2 unrelated devices, the padkontrol is to control a computer/synth and the kaossilator is just a synth that cannot even control anything else, really depends on what you wish to do with your purchase

    thanks for rating :)

  • hey wondering if you can help me

im thinking of buying the yellow kor kaoss

im into like enter shikari and my passion.

    who use these

but which will allow me to basically create synth loops and drum loops.

    thanks (:

  • never heard of those names, but the kaossilator is always a great buy, you'll have fun with it any way you use it

  • kaossilator

  • heyhey, i really liked this.

ive been playing guitar for years now, and i am really interested in all the electronic machine created music! but theres so many things that i dont know where to start. what would you say itd be good to buy first??? drum machine? kaos pad??? thanks!

  • if you want to play guitar with it, the kaoss pad 3 is pretty good

a drum machine is always cool to have to keep the tempo/generate the clock, but a laptop could be used in place

if you want to just go electro, i'd say the kaossilaor is the best first steps, maybe with either a mini or a kaoss pad 3 for efects

  • yeah i want to play guitar with...or anything with it.

ill go to guitar center and mess around with all of this, see what happens. thanks a lot, cool videos. :)

  • Really neat, what is the red unit to the left that isn't in use? Korg EMX-1 ?

  • yes, the ESX1, it's pink acually, but it's really dark in this video (actually it's kind of used, it gives the tempo to the KP3 because i'm too lazy to change the sync mode on the KP3, so i set the tempo with the ESX lol)

  • nice set up have the same gear just learning to use , good beats..

  • thanks

  • does the kp3 alow you to record your own loops from another device such as the microKORG or the Kaossilatior, or any other device in genaral, with using a midi to a computer?

  • yes, it has 4 16 beats (4 bars) loops, no midi required

  • well done, smooth track!

check out my korgvids and give afeedback!

    peace out

  • thanks bro :) i'll check this out

  • hi, i've got the kaossilator and the mini KP, do i need KP2 ? maybe i'll buy it..

  • i'd look more in a KP3 than a KP2, way more usefull as far as sampling goes

  • yes, it's a friend who sell it and it's quite interessant .. ^^ is it interessant ?

  • in that case, go for it, it's always noce to have

also, to the assholes who mark good comments as spam, please stop it

  • nobody can tell you if YOU need one of these...

  • GJ!!!!

  • hi there. is kp3 mini and kaossilator = kp3 pad, or kaossilator is different than the other.

if u have the kp3 do u need the others????

  • no, kaossilator is purely a synth, the mini KP is more like the kp2 without sampling/midi/etc

the kp3 has better effects, only 8(poor) synths without any scale/root control, 4 parts loop sampler, midi sync, midi control capabilities, etc

the kaossilator have an "arpegiator" scales and root choice(all which the kaoss pad doesnt), it also has a 2 tracks overdub looper

that's why i have the 3 of them, they are enough different to worth it

  • boom boom boom good good!

  • thanks :)

  • Nice i have the KP3 & Kaossilator i have hours off fun too like you : ) 5 red

  • nice one bruv.

maybe you can help me as i,m having trouble loading up my samples.

Having saved them onto my sd card and naming them '11.wav' or '22.wav'. When i press shift + load ' err ' appears and no samples load up.

    What am i doing wrond?

    Headz

  • Use the KP3 editor and load them as KP3 sample onto SD card. Worked with me.

  • Wazup!, I just got my KP3 on th 22nd JAN 09. I bought a memory card to, but when I go to format it, it sais ERR in the display. The card is a SDHC Card, does that make a difference or the I have to use specificly an SD CARD????????

  • sd only, max 1 GB IIRC

  • my 2 gig works fine in it...

  • actually te problem is that he has an SDHC, and the KP3 supoprts only SD (which maxes out at 4 GB IIRC)

  • yeh baby...my kaossilator is on da wayyyy
