  • This is manta? I thought there was gunna be a sting-ray like the one in orlando...does orlando have this?

  • ... Boring !

  • I love how they used the non-commercial no-limits.

  • I THINK THIS IS GONNA BE A GREAT RIDE!!!!

  • Correct me if i'm wrong but I think the reason it looks lame is because they have a height limit that the coaster can go up to. Remember guys, don't knock it 'till you try it! Look at their latest update on it's construction and it might change your mind! :D

  • lame. enough said

  • Sad face. This looks lame. Fucking San Diego... The city council wouldn't know a good thing if it knocked out their teeth. After watching the Manta videos in FL. I'm super disappointed in this San Diego version.

  • this lookkss sooo boring good thing i live in miami florida and could go to the one in orlando often

  • looks pretty shitty lol. oh well I dont go there for rollercoasters anyways

  • Looks like itll be a fun family coaster

  • this one is boring go to the one in orlando alot better!!!!

  • i was thinking of renewing my fun card... but after watching this, i dont think i will need to. lol. that ride looks really lame.

  • I feel bad for San Diego! The manta here in florida is way better!

  • Haha florida is better for a bunch more reasons that I can't list cause I can't fit it that how many there are

  • san diego is amateur when it comes to rollercoasters, and if your from this city you know exactly what i mean!!!

  • Come on... The west coast needs a ride with inversions, besides California Screamin', but that only has one loop. Why cant there be a ride like the Incredible Hulk or something? Florida gets every good ride...

  • @12rollercoasterfreak have you been to Magic Mountain!? it's the best roller coaster theme park in the world, barely above cedar point.

  • @12rollercoasterfreak Because Silver Bullet, Montezooma, Boomerang, Batman, X2, Revolution, Green Lantern, Tatsu, Riddler, Scream, Viper, Vortex, Demon, Kong, and Medusa aren't enough loopers. ಠ_ಠ

  • @AdrenalineAddict610 I mean as far as Disneyland, Universal Studios, and Sea World go. Florida's has a lot better rides in all of those parks.

  • @12rollercoasterfreak Why would you need Seaworld Universal and Disney when you have Knotts and SFMM?

  • this looks cool. glad i'm going to the 619 next year.

  • okay it's great our seaworld's getting a rollercoaster? but why cant we get one like kraken or manta @seaworld orlando? D:

  • Ugh I thought this would be more like Tatsu at magic mountain... Well at least it's something and I bet it's not going to be that bad... Hopefully.

  • No inversions?? I guess it will still be fun

  • I wish they would include this coaster style in Nolimits

  • when does this open??

  • NL ftw lol

  • Despite the fact that there will be no barrel rolls, it will introduce something to the west coast that it has DESPERATELY needed: airtime.

  • Why does Orlando get all the inversions and big roller coasters? Seriously, SD... I'm sticking with Six Flags.

  • @tsunami762 if you're aware of where this park is located (and how much space they have), you'd notice it's within range of the ocean and residential areas. So that's why this park can't have those monster steel coasters

  • @iSpeed09 I like in San Diego, and I've been to Seaworld countless times. I'm not asking for some huge coaster like Kraken, but something bigger than this piece of crap. I know it's supposed to be a family park, but then why the fuck do they have Journey to Atlantis? If they were going to build a ride like this, at least add a few barrel rolls or some type of inversion. They might not have that much room to expand but they have room for this, so if they build; they might as well make it good.

  • @iSpeed09 live*. I do not like in San Diego, haha.

  • A Barrel Roll or a corkscrew seems almost nessesarry in this track layout. Seaworld Orlando's rides have plenty of inversions. Why do we get nothing?

  • @legodude700videos think its cuz city councel wont approve it, and in a earth quake area... idk

  • @matthewzguitarz13 We have Six Flags here. That's in earthquake area too. Same with Disneyland. One of their coaster's have an inversion. So it's probably not either. It could be lack of space maybe?

  • @legodude700videos and the city counsel being idiots :D

  • @legodude700videos San Diego's counsel doesn't approve of any coasters with inversions. It really depends on the city. For example, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo doesn't allow anything over 150 feet. If they had built Sea World in a different place, the inversions would have probably been put in place.

  • @electrotapped Thats very interesting. I wonder why they don't approve of inversions. I guess thats a letter I'm going to have to send soon.

  • For all of you bashing the ride, consider this: This is Sea world's biggest amusement attraction addition, on park or even larger than Journey To Atlantis. Manta will encompass a whole new area of the park. Manta is a reinventing of an area, and will be an attraction worthy of my top ten simply for its immersive theming and ride layout along with its launch inside the Manta projection room. Everyone will be eating their insults the moment this opens.

  • How can everyone tell its gonna suck? it didn't even open yet :).

  • based on the seating, I can infer this is not an intamin accelerator coaster, but a mack rides launch coaster! :o

  • WHY DIDNT IT DO A BARREL ROLL? THERE ADDING AN ACCELERATOR COASTER AND THATS IT? Im glad i live next to the orlando version.

  • @sonimatic A coaster doesn't have to loop to be good. In fact, the best rated coasters are almost all non-looping rides.

  • @AdrenalineAddict610

One of the best coasters is Bizarro at SF New England and its FAST, LONG, and has massive hills.

    This doesn't.

    Baby ride.^

  • @RingneckDoveFan Ever ridden Maverick at Cedar Point? It's small on the stats (only about 100 ft tall), but it is a powerhouse for forces and fun. Much of the ride was very much like these renderings; swift, forceful transitions and small ejector airtime hills. I was really impressed with Maverick, and I'm hoping I will be here as well.

  • @AdrenalineAddict610

Maverick has a lot of loops and rolls. This doesn't. Blue Fire is a better ride to compare this Manta to, even though even BF is better.

  • @RingneckDoveFan 2 thrown into the middle, but they are overshadowed by the turns and hills. I actually found those rolls one of the weaker parts of the ride.

  • @sonimatic It's not an Intamin accelerator. It's a MACK launched, but hopefully it has the same airtime as an Intamin acceelerator.

  • dont themeparks use better software to show the onride pov

  • I expected something more thrilling-.-, can't they do one big thrilling ride?

  • @ZOmBieZ076 Have you seen the latest construction??! Its beautiful! and It looks like it has hills like a Intamin mega lite! :D

  • was anybody expecting something...more of it?

  • @studio13production I was expecting a lot more... This ride looks pretty sucky

  • Love seaworld dream job

  • this looks shit!!!!

  • Gayyyyyyy. Sea world san diego blows so fucking hard I swear.

  • @roxas2357 haha are you shure u dont... lol man.. it looks decent .. lets hope its not like BGT new coaster.. cheeata hunt.....no that looks LAMEEEE

  • they got this instead of an intamin blitz wow all i can say is wow how cheap are they

  • @TH3b3st7 Umm..no. They have issues with the city about installing new rides, its that not the price

  • I just watched this video again after a couple months and it just now occurred to me: it looks like this coaster will have some decent airtime. Please be true..... *crosses fingers*

  • You may all be disappointed, but its not SeaWorld's fault. Its the San Diego City Council's. If it were up to the owners of both Sea World and Busch Gardens, Sea World California would be a much bigger park with a wide expanse of exhibits and attractions so that it could compete better against Disneyland Resort and other SoCal theme park. But for some reason, the City Council refuses to allow the park to become great tourist attraction. So blame them and be happy for this new ride at the park.

  • I'm sad. I liked it when you could touch those Bat rays. :(

  • it is there first coaster so there new at this lol

  • the one in Orlando seems more exciting but I still think it will be fun! I wasnt excited for Rip Tide Rescue at first but its fun once you get on..so hopefully it will be fun! I cant wait for it!

  • I'm sure the ride will be better in person when you actually ride it. You don't get the same feel of being on it from an animation.

  • This ride doesn't look very exciting, however it looks a look better then the stupid "Pony Express" ride at Knott's Ghetto Farm.

  • i get to go their next year for a field trip ^-^

  • i thought is was supposed to be like tatsu at magic mountain!!! im disapointed :(

  • Exactly my point if your gonna name it the Manta make it the concept of the manta

  • r u serious it's just another launch coaster? seen that. done that. WAIT....does it go fast?

  • your retarded this isn't even a real ride..... GAY!!!!

  • @MrCrazydude46 Go to the seaworld web. This is the actual Seaworld channel. I live in San Diego so I know whats happening.

  • @MrCrazydude46 Thats because it is being built........... Opens May 2012.

  • Well name it something else

  • Buttt Wat I was tryin to say is in Orlando the Manta is a diving coaster with your body practicly hanging... Head first just like a manta. With the new ride in san Diego I believe it should not be called a Manta because it is no head first diving... Find another sea animal that can get to the speeds of the coaster... R u gettin Wat I'm sayin

  • @robbiematrix98 Florida's manta is a B&M flying coaster, like Tatsu at SFMM. California's manta will be a Mack launched coaster, like Blue Fire at Europa Park. Mack's the company that designed Journey to Atlantis at all of the Sea Worlds. But i agree that it will get really confusing with both parks having a coaster named manta but with different layouts.

  • @robbiematrix98 good logic. your right. Florida's b&m ride was made to look and feel like you are the manta. My fave part is the water fly by with the jets like you're skimming the water

  • the ride is suppose to feature 2 gigantor projector screens to on one of the launch runs. they said it will show manta rays racing against you.

  • RCT3

  • ok so i live in florida and that ride just copied the name of MANTA and the launch idea from CHEETAH HUNT so it is a failer and manta is suppose to be a diving coaster so that ruins the concept...

  • @robbiematrix98 Diving?

  • @robbiematrix98 if you think about it, California already has a flying roller coaster, Tatsu at Six Flags Magic Mountain. They've been thinking about a launch coaster for a long time now.

  • I wish it could be a LITTLE bit longer; seems like a rather short ride.... -.-

  • @iSpeed09 - You don't find many launch coaster out there with large layout. apart from cheetah hunt.

  • Comment removed

  • Shame they couldn't squeeze a barrel roll in there...

  • uhg why cant they have it sooner! i was at sea world 2 days ago but im in in NC now so i guess i have to wait till 2012 2 go on the ride.:( it looks so funn!!!!!!

  • Great 3D animation, lol

  • @JahRasta311

    That's Nolimits Coaster Simulation(PROFESSIONAL Edition)

  • @PowerpuffPepperAnn Do you know what track type that is in NoLimits? I want to build a replica of Cheeta Hunt but cannot find the right one.

  • Actually, there are many inverted launch coasters. All the Intamin Impulses are (Wicked Twister, Vertical Velocity etc.) and there is also a complete circuit one, Volcano: The Blast Coaster in Kings Domion

  • WTF is this? It should be an inverted launch coaster! now i'm sure that hasn't been done before!

  • @Suazovic Look up Volcano: Blast Coaster At King's Dominion, sorry, it's alreay been down and it would make no sense to add one here.

  • @SilverSteel3000 but that's inverted, this one is a sit down.

  • @AnonymousReed What I was saying, was that an inverted launch coaster has been done before, and since the city limited the height the coaster could be, a sitdown, launched coaster is much more applicable to their situation.

While I've ridden FL Manta (Fanta :) ) I think this coaster is being marketed to whole families, similar to Busch Gardens Tampa's new launched coaster Cheetah Hunt, except with as much, or even more theming than FL Manta.

    -SS3000

  • @SilverSteel3000 oh im sorry i didn't see the other comments

  • On rcdb's website it shows the concept art for this and they kinda make it look like a Vekoma flying dutchman.

  • @Hieagandaus iit does!! but if u look closer the peepz are sitting upwards

  • Honestly this looks like it could end up being a rlly good coaster with a lot of airtime. There were a lot of airtime hills in the layout!

  • the next time i go there i will ride this

  • My girlfriend and I go to Sea World SD every week. It's always NEEDED a coaster! I can't wait!

  • i understand that the coaster is fun but I think there gona theme it like a mo fo!!! No its not an exciting lay out but if your going through like, under water sea caves er smthn, that would make it intense!!! Don't love it till ya try it :)

  • This is a bad Coaster!!!!!!

  • @TheFreshOMatic How can you know, you didn't ride it yet. It is pretty fast, and has a lot of this small elements what will cause an very intense ride packed with airtime. The alternative is nothing.

  • @TheFreshOMatic It's made by MACK, a German Company. Gyess what? The other launch coaster of theirs, Blue Fire, had NO downtime during it's opeing season. The ride is very realiable and the theming is going to be maxed out. If you are going to say it's a bad coaster please explain first.

  • @SilverSteel3000 Mack, The German Company - also made Journey to Atlantis. A ride that suffers from horrible reliability. Still, I'm glad to see the new attraction.

  • @Mattddaaeemon Journey To Atlantis runs perfectly fine, what are you talking about. Journey To Atlantis at san Diego has barely broken down.

  • Journey To Atlantis at San Diego, breaks down regularly. You obviously don't know better.

  • @Mattddaaeemon Then that sucks for you. Journey To Atlantis works fine whenever I go to SeaWorld. and I go a lot. maybe it just doesn't like you.

  • @SilverSteel3000 I agree, I have been waiting forever for another coaster to come to SeaWorld San Diego!!!! This rdie looks pretty cool, I saw a few airtime spots, and with themeing it should look better!

  • Those hills look like they will produce some pretty good airtime!

  • Everyone here needs to realize something... SEAWORLD IS GETTING A COASTER! Now I never thoguht I'd be saying that again. And for everyone who's complaining, the reason it won't go over 30ft. is because the coastal commission requires extra permits for any structure of 30ft. tall along the coast. It's meant to be a family coaster.

    Quit complaining!

Thank you very much Sea World for adding a fantastic new ride to SWSD!

  • Thank you SeaWorld for putting in the first Mack Launched coaster in the US. Blue Fire is one of the best coasters in the world and this looks sweet too. Can't wait to ride it.

  • Awww. Was so excited when I heard Sea World San Diego was getting a flying coaster. Then I learned the MANTA San Diego would be getting was this. :-( Really? Only 43mph???? Oh well.

  • I dont think this ride was ment for being major thrill ride more like a family ride which im fine with.

  • This looks just ok.... Orlando's Manta can't be beat

  • Hopefully they'll be a little more creative with the logo. It looks quite similar to another Manta coaster... *cough* SeaWorld Orlando *cough*

  • It Should go upside down and much faster. I expected better, seaworld.

  • Looks like it will be really cool with the scenery around it. Good on them, and on the City of San Diego for getting this going,

  • No offense to anyone, but that NoLimits recreation wasn't exactly... great. Also, why only 360p?

  • this looks no where near as good as blue fire or the manta at seaworld orlando :O

  • @DotsProductions If you are thinking that way you will be disappointed, but I think it is a great new ride. Beter than nothing, fast, long and a very good capacity.

  • very cool!
