  • KENYA ROCKS!!!

those who don't understand Swahilli, the song is a cautionary tale about HIV and people being taken in by physical beauty.

By the way, I'm posting from the most beautiful place on earth, Keekrock lodge in the Maasai Mara reserve.

  • Lovi so hot

  • pole pole wenzangu

  • r these guys kenyans really? i am so impressed

  • nah....immigrants from congo..but they kenyan still

  • They are from the same family of Awilo Longomba and Vicky Longomba, of Franco's OK Jazz..

  • These guys are Kenyans; born and raised. Their father Lovy Longomba was a musician from Congo, moved to Kenya in the 70's, fell in love with the country, and married a Kenyan. The Congolese famous musician Awilo Longomba is their uncle. And the late Vicky Longomba of Franco's TP OK Jazz is their grandfather.

  • @HeshimaJameni Thanks for that background information. I have always wondered how they came to be Kenyans when their uncle, Awilo, is congolese.

  • @daddycliff their dad Lovy Longomba was a member of Orchestra Super Mazembe band whch relocated to Kenya in 1974..these guys were born in Kenya...Remember the Hit songs ' Shauri yako,' samba ' by Super mazembe..hope u are now enlightened...

  • lolz..ugonjwa tu kama malaria,seriously.

  • ai AIDS its not like malaria thats why hes saying the kijana ata kufa ajikute langata. weh! std's are so not like malaria.

  • Vuta pumzi UKIMWI unaua!!

  • Hi wait a minute wat did i hear here wanawake warembo wanarasa na weupe what? Are you kinding me warembo wa Kenya please sema na weusi please dont be your own racial descriminator logomba black is beuty ok correct that or when i come home i Dec il make sure your thing is cut out ok.

  • This inferiority complex thing is quite pervasive. Honestly, with over 40 different shades of African skin, its about time we decolonised our minds from some misplaced and sometimes celebrated notions of what African beauty is and is meant to look like.

  • I had to rewind and replay that again, just to make sure I heard right. Seriously, though, this attitude should have ended a long, long, time ago. By now, we really shouldn't still have these provincial sterotypes in regards to what's beautiful...the longombas should recongnize that. I digress, however. The song was great...

  • sorry but what are you talking about? I don't understand the language but I love the song

  • I have the same problem i like alot of spanish songs and i have no idea what they are talking about

  • In around the first verse of the song, he's describing the "perfect woman" so to say...There's nothing wrong with his preference, it's just that his ideals are alittle...stereotypical...It's more media based than anything and that's what's bothering me...

  • this song is a Public Service Announcement (PSA) about HIV and AIDS among young people. it is done in very informal language, and speaks to the youth and not AT them, warning them about unportected sex and uninformed decisions. The reason young swahili speakers love this song so much is because it resonates with them . it is a timely song especially with HIV / AIDS claiming so many young people who are full of potential

  • The song isn't about beauty it's about AIDS....

  • Who said it was about beauty? The overall song is about AIDS, but I was just referring to the first few lines...

  • ckathomi, unashema even in writing.LOL!!! ease up girl, you have to give it up for them, the song is bomb and it has a good message! so what if they like wanawake weupe? heck, at the rate kenyan men are marrying jungus here, its rather obvious what the preference is!!.. I looove the song!!
