Wow that is cool, Ive known about these products for a few years this is the first time I have seen them working. I use CAD everyday AutoCAD ArchiCAD and my hobby is 3dsMax I would consider myself to be a shortcut expert on all and though this product would slow down the workflow process..but it does a completely different thing than what I thought. Great for mocking out animated camera routes, and just having fun!
@unbelievabubble I guess I don't understand, how would this slow down workflow? For me I see a huge boost in modeling speed because I spend 1/4th the amount of time manipulating the camera. I just fly to where I need to be, and if its moving too fast, I select the object I'm working on, hit z, and keep going. You can keep your other hand on the mouse, and select on the move, or jump to the keyboard for shortcut keys.
Hello! I'm crazy to buy one of these. I work with 3D Max and I was wondering if it worth it? and don't know between this one, and the SpaceExplorer (200$ difference) Thanks!
Oh yes, very much so. Not worth getting the $200 one though. Its just bigger and has lots of buttons you don't need. The SpaceNavigator PE is just fine. I refuse to work without mine now.
just bought the 300$ one, and payed 180$... I really need the extra buttons, I customize everything in 3D Max! need that Undo, Deselect All, zoom extend, move, rotate, etc, etc on my extra fingers. : D
Glad to hear it! I assure you I don't work for them (though I wouldn't mind some free hardware if any employees are reading :P) Let me know how it works for you.
I'm running it in Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. Some times it will stop functioning in 3DS MAX, but re-installing (or repairing) the core files fixes it.
Just make sure you install the new drivers from the internet, not the ones from the CD.
Someone should write a version of Descent that works with this...
