You just said not to use horizontal bangs on a oval face because they tend to have small foreheads, but then you said not to use horizontal bangs on a round face because it will make them look wider. If this is true for the round face, then shouldn't it be advisable to use horizontal bangs on an oval face to make the small forehead wider?

FOUR shapes? Ummm...There are seven: Oval, round, oblong, square, diamond, heart, and triangle.

Also, take into consideration your profile and head shape:

Profile: Straight, convex, concave, or sloped.

Head shape: Large, small, pointed (Yes, this exists), flat top, flat crown, flat back.

There are also many other considerations, proportionally, to take into account, body shape, facial features, glasses, etc.

With square head shapes, I wouldn't cover up the jaw like on the drawing.

With heart faced shapes you can just do it more straight in the top, and curls on hair that extends below your cheeks. Probably works best if you have pretty long hair. (oh wait, was it heart shaped faced?).

Oval shape. Hmm. It looks like an upside-down alien head, and in my experience, aliens does not have much hair, so you can really just go with what you like.

The purpose is to get a more oval shaped face. If you have a square shaped face, you will want to hide those angles... In order to get a more oval shape.

Does that mean if you have an oval shaped face, you should not have any hair at all because you cannot possibly be more oval than you already are... Just asking.

I think it's ridiculous to try and cover up the angles of your face or go for an "ideal" face shape. Just do what you want, and if you think it looks good, then roll with it. (: No one should be able to tell us how to cut our hair...it's OUR hair.

Uh that's totally wrong.. Most oval faces shapes tend to be thicker at the top around the forehead areas and narrower at the bottom around the chin and jaw area. Which is why oval shape is considered perfect.

I actually found this video more helpful than the rest because I can visualize the different shape of faces and the right hair that will go great with it. My only question I have is regarding the round shape. You mention a lot of 'don't do' but what about the 'do, do.' I have a round face and I'm confuse on what style will fit my face better. I have side bang but should they stop below my ear on an angle or at my eye? And if I want to long hair, which bangs goes will with it?

Jmo but, long hair would go very well with a round face. Side bangs (swoopy ones right?) will probably work very well seeing as it kinda makes it look like you have an oval shape and it makes your face look kinda longer. I used to have a round face but lately it looks kinda ovally XD but anyways, the best thing to do in my opinion is frame your face on the sides as she suggested. Stay away from horizontal lines and you'll be fine! :3
