Wow, I played so much Dig Dug at the arcades as a kid, and I only realized that 1) your intro theme is the Dig Dug theme and that 2) the theme plays as Dig Dug walks (and only when he walks). I honestly thought that your theme was an original composition. I do prefer it to the original, though.

Haha, great observations. It's a remix of the original Dig Dug tune indeed. When looking for something that would fit the name of the show I just thought the Dig Dug theme would be nice, at first I used a remix from someone else, but in this case it's Mat's :) He did an awesome job on it too!!!

Well, it was kinda funny how I noticed. I didn't realize that this was Dig Dug's theme until AFTER I started watching your vids. I bought Namco Museum for Dreamcast the other day, and I started playing Dig Dug. When I started moving around within the level, I heard your theme song start playing, which really confused me for a moment. XD

As much as I loved the original, this one wasn't a step a back. Maybe it's a little long though. Still, I find this one pretty well done. Keeping the music close to the original was a smart move IMO.

Thanks, and I agree on the length, that's about the only real problem I still have with this. I tried to make it a bit dynamic this time by adding in a little preview in the middle that will change each episode, but it's still a bit long yeah.

... what game is that at 0:12? It looks a LOT like the DOS game 'Bumpy' (Bumpy's Arcade Fantasy) that I got when I was younger... checking on Gamefaqs I see the PC version in the US, and an Amstrad one in Europe. Is that it?

I've got Fire & Forget, Robocop 2, World of Games and Switchblade. (Switchblade cost me £30, but really wanted it).

If you've got any questions or need help, just ask me, I was stupid to buy one when they came out, but I also had a CPC 434 as a kid too!

Amstrad never got big over here, let alone the GX 4000. I got mine with the games for just £25 of ebay, it's in perfect condition and in the box even. Lucked out I did.

Seperate games are crazy expensive though. How pricy was this thing on launch anyway?

I think the Lynx has Switchblade II, the original is more like Rick Dangerous if you've ever played that. (it's also made by the same people)

I think it was £150 when it came out here, but I got mine when they fell to £40, also went through 4 of them as my copy of Robocop 2 I had at the time destroyed consoles for some reason.

But the prices on eBay are frickin' stupid. Way over the odds, even more so as most are unboxed.

Oh you're right about Switchblade II being on the Lynx. I loved Rick Dangerous, such an awesome game! Now I'll need to check out Switchblade for sure.

It's to bad the system is not so well known, makes the price go really high really fast. They *EXTREMELY RARE* everything that doesn't show up a dozen times during a search. It's just ridiculous, more so that people are actually buying it at those prices...

Methinks people are really inflating prices for profit, rather than any physical evidence that it's rare.

The only reason they didn't sell well is because Alan Sugar is a combination of greedy/stupid and didn't realise for some reason, people weren't prepared to spend £30 on a game on cartridge they could get for £2.99 on tape.
