i won this pageant the first time i ever did it and i was in my sunday dress. its just a regional, the nationals is way different and way funner. its the best pageant i have ever done. they base the entire pageant around the contestants! they have parties almost every night and the people there are so nice. some little girls can be mean but thats to be expected at every pageant. not every little girl is an angel. MAS is a semi glitz pageant for nationals meaning look nice but no fake teeth&junk
I found this very interesting. I know it is possible to win at prelims. in anything. What is not possible is to win at Nationals without an in. Anyone who doesn't believe me check the address of the co-director with the name and address of the big winner of the 7_9 group. They are one and the same! ALL applications went to the winning contestants mother. Does no one ever see this??? Judges daughters also win. You MUST have an in to get very much at the higher levels.
My daughter was in this pageant, she had a long dress like you would wear to a wedding, almost no make-up at all & she did win queen, we entered only in the basic pkg & talent, she also won for talent. We spent almost the least amount of money & she still won, so I don't think it is true that those who spent the most money won. I even saw them telling one mother to wipe off some of her daughters make-up before the pageant because it was too much for her age.
there are still many good ones out there National american miss, our little miss, cinderella, angels of light all are natural pageants and for those of you being mean this woman is just giving her opinon do with it what you will no need to be hateful.
My daughter wore a Sunday Best Dress to this pageant and won 1st runner up. Then at winter nationals she won Queen and was still in just a normal Sunday best dress. She didn't have any fake hair or make up and half of the time she didn't even have her shoes on. So I guess that you must have just had a bad experience.
My kids like beauty pageants, but they didn't like this one...talent, looks, and poise didn't count in this pageant. Only money talked at this one. They want to see if you're a big spender so you go onto their bigger pageant and spend more!
I understand why you want to give them that experience since they are home schooled and I love your perspective on how you believe it can help them build confidence and how to act politely and with grace. I dig it and I think you're probably a really good mom.
Firstly let me just say that your daughters did a really great job with that bouquet. Really, it takes talent to arrange flowers in such a way that they are aesthetically pleasing and balanced at the same time. So kudos to them.
When you first started talking about the pageant I had mixed emotions because, like you said, pageants are kind of weird and often seem to be damaging emotionally. But after you only mentioned how proud you were of their character and their manners, I was on board.
