It is fair to call this a nation language, after all I´m sure Castillion, Catalan, Aragonese, Aranese were all once considered simply dialects of Spanish. Western society recognizes them as separate languages and many speakers consider themselves independent nations within Spain. Same case is found in Italy and France, and yet weren´t these all once dialects of Latin? Let´s just be fair, and give respect to where its due.
I love this funny and at the same time moving language!I think jamaican creole is a very particular form of expression of Jamaican people and their identities...reductive are those who tink that it is a vernacular or dialect or even broken English...=)
Jamaican english is beautiful and sensitive. One gets impression like when the small child is singing. I can't imagine how will this sound in cockney english. I'm not particular fan of reggae music, but this is so awesome!
i was born in haiti and speak haitian creole and english, in the past 5 years i have took the time out to learn and found the courage to speak patois, wasn't easy, but seriously, big up jamaica.
No paak between dem sign yah! lol. Isnt this the same thing as the whole ebonics movement crap?
