I loved the video, great footage, good clearity but this is NOT a spawning video. Actually this is a standard behavior of the Frontosa. Thanks Uploader. In the future, you will know when your Frontosa is spawning because there will be a great deal of movement, not this slow relaxing and calming motion you see here.

you could also use reptile white sand if you are willing to pay.. play sand washed thoroughly also works very well

the pots are useful as their territory and to keep the fry in its important to keep them safe

it's a perfect hideout, breeding place, and yes it makes them feel safe. Flower pots is perfect for Cichlids. What i did with my smaller cichlid was:

Turn the pot into the side wall, cover it with something black. Once they lay eggs in there, i can take it away and look at the eggs without the parents notice'ing.

So yeah, Flower Pots is good.
