  • nice

  • Nice fat tailed gecko:)

    Is he still alive.

  • The terrain should not be sand.

  • @Cooludeful that really doesn't matter

  • @Rappe111 Yes it does. Lizards have been known to try eating it and then choking and dying,,

  • Good looking Fatty! I'd get rid of the heating rock and get an under tank heat pad, less chance of burns.

  • lol the gecko is like "GET SOME GET SOME"

  • Im getting one soon ; ) I was gonna buy a crested but i changed my mind!

  • how big are fat tailed geckos, are they around the size of leopard geckos?

  • how big are fat tailed geckos, are they around the size of leopard geckos?

  • Adorable...these geckos are underrated. They deserve to share leopard geckos' popularity.

  • @Kingcobrasaurus I´ve heard african fat tailed geckos are a bit more docile than leopard geckos, but they need more humidity.that´s probably why more people have leos as pets, but i think both are great as pets and i would like to get both species(but unfortunately, here where i live there are only leos available in pet shops,so for now i´ll get one or two of them and hope that fat tails become available soon).

  • Fat-Tails look SO cool, but I'm still a beginner with reptiles so I'm gonna stick with my Leo ;)

  • @EyeOfThePoodle these are easy to care. You couldnt care for a tokay or giant day lol

  • that looks exactly the same as mine. what substrate do you use? I currently use kitchen roll. it's easy to clean out but doesn't look great

  • @TheBeeBugaz9871 it's stomach is about the size between it's eyes so don't feed over 3 crickets a day (if it's an adult). If it's a baby you should feed him less.

  • how big is this one? i just got one, i would say tail and all he is probably 6inches> im trying to figure how many to feed at a time... any advice?

  • Nice vid, and a nice healthy looking fat-tail. We have 5 leopard geckos, two or three of whom are really good eaters, but our african fat-tail gecko eats them all under the table. Watching him hunt down and eat is the best. Tonight he ate about 20 in one sitting. Looks like your buddy could give him a run for his money.

  • are fat tails basicly the same as leopard geckos?

  • @45bindy look wise yes, but they are more tropical requiring more humidity and slightly different temps

  • o and i have limited funds right now i am 15 after all and i cant get a light but i have a heating pad but does the gecko need the light or is the heading pad enough and were would i put the heading pad on the tank

  • is it ok to put multch for any gecko or you need sand cuz ima get one like tomorrow, its a fat tailed gecko i think and the the guy at the store said it was called a snow gecko or something like that and all i have is multh from my house gecko

  • my two african fat tails haven't eaten on their own since I got them about two weeks ago.. I've been having to hand feed. does anyone know why?

  • Stopping hassling and telling him what to do. He has, it's been a long time, Possible had a healthy gecko. Just look at how many people say he is healthy and stuff.

  • You do realise that fat tails are from woodland/foresty sort of areas and require humidity? You need to switch to orchid bark or peat soil

  • if thats a heat rock in there you should take it out and sub for an under tank heater instead. heat rocks can malfunction and burn your gecko to death. they dont feel heat untill its too late and there is damage done. just sayin. looks really nice though.

  • woooow, that gecko is soooo beautiful!! looks healthy too!!

  • Hes like helll yeah.! lol heres my leo youtube.com/watch?v=C6G60vfVJOE

  • why do you use sand it isn't a desert animal like a leopard gecko

  • @samverwimp

You can have a Fat tailed gecko in a sand habitat as long as you have a hide that you are misting or keep moist peat moss in I know this becuase I have two Stanley and Charlie and they have never had a problem with this.

  • @BoolaHoola you can but its retarded the whole point of keeping reptiles is to learn about them and make them feel at home

  • @samverwimp

They are CAPTIVE bred you used replicate the place that they were raised in dimbo they are not at there home as soon as they are sent to the pet store!

  • @BoolaHoola srry man dont agree

  • @samverwimp

    Im a man?!

If I am a man then a gecko can speak latin!

  • @BoolaHoola yeah i could totaly tell that ur a woman from the why you write your comments dudette idc what you are XD or what language ur gecko speaks

  • r those crickets dusted with the calcuim stuff

  • i getting one of these to live with my 6 leopard geckos and nice Gex :D

  • @GoodCharlotteGC1

Fat tails need higher humidity, so you will need to house it in a different tank.

  • i have geckos to and i love when they look at the cricket like at 0.4 XD

  • Cute gecko!! =)

Be careful about using sand as a substrate though... he could get impacted!

  • Whats better bearded dragons or geckos?

  • @RotationCavies19 it depends on how much money you have and space it has to suit ur life style, remember bearded dragons are out in the day need alot more food so you need alot of money, and most geckos are nocturnal and require less food... and beardeds are more sociable

  • @RotationCavies19 bearded dragons

  • @RotationCavies19 beardies

  • Wee do u buy african fat tailed geckos because I can't find them anywere

  • Too many Crickets, beautiful African fatail too!

  • This Video Was Recorded In B.S.D. Bull Shit Definition hahaha ! nice gecko tho

  • thats to much

  • where do u get a fat tailed gecko cause dude that is beast

  • is sand good for them

  • @geckoclubtrudeau they can eat it and its bad for them so I'de suggest not using sand

  • i used to have a gecko that looked exaclty like that. it died though, this video really makes me want to get another one though!

  • that gecko looks like it is enjoying those crickets. by the way, does anyone know whether a leopard gecko is easier to care for than a african fat tailed gecko?

  • @emberzs.. I find my Leopard Gecko a little more mild tempered than my African but pretty much the same in care.

  • That Gecko is beautiful. :)

  • hehe 2:28 was cute :P

  • Woa he ate so many *-*

  • im lucky if i can get mine to eat 3 crickets every other night. Any suggestions. Temps are about 85 to 90 daytime, and 80'ish night. they are on timers, soo... just wondering if anyone had ideas.

  • @pageme101 if he is baby you can ask some baby crickets or if it is all ready like sizestudios said use wax worms

  • yours looks like mine, well they all look alike sometimes

  • no wonder it has a fat tail

  • poor gecko this arte too much cricktest for one meal ^^

  • That's a lot of crickets, don't ya think? I have a baby gecko and I only feed him two little crickets a night but how many do adult gecko's eat?

  • poor crickets, yummy gecko's tail

  • ill give him that he is hungry haahah

  • my baby AFT has little fat on her tail and is very picky on eating. she will only eat on loose gravel (everytime i try to feed her on paper towel she refuses) SHE ALSO WONT EAT DUSTED CRICKETS! ( i fixed that by puting calcium powder in her water.) she has eaten a lot since i put her on coconut fiber substrate, but never puts on tail weight. HELP!

  • @SizeStudios you can try waxworms. They helped me put weight on a little one i was nursing about 6 yrs ago. Real good for putting on weight, but be careful about the little guy getting addicted to them. They are the equivalent of candy to us.

  • how many food items will he it eat in one seating ?

  • Is fattail a morph of leopard gecko or a different species of gecko?

  • do Gecko's eat fruit

  • @Iplaynfs1

most geckos without eyelids eat fruit such as crested geckos , day gecko , and most arboreal geckos

  • @1234Reptileman

    different speices

  • my african fat tailed gecko wont eat.can anyone tell me one why.i give her meal worms but she wont eat them.

  • @charizard359 give her crickets?

  • @charizard359 ye, try crickets, and in most cases if reptiles dont eat, their terrarium is warm enough, so put a bigger ligt in it:)

  • Why is there no sound?

  • why do you need sound for a lizard eating?

  • @aveltkam

I don't know, I just like how some people tend to narrate it.

  • oh my god i cant believe you put so many in the tank and he got them. my Leopard Gecko loves crickets come check it out at: ThePurpleNovember

  • that gecko looks amazing.

  • Question is... how many will fit in the tiny stomach?

  • Less than what he put in there. Probably no more than 10 would fit.

  • Looks very similar to mine (see my video) but yours eats them a fair bit quicker, mines a female with the white stripe, but the stripe doesnt run in a continuous line down her back which seems odd to me.

  • i just got a male and a female the female has the white stripe running from head to tail they looks so sad if you take one away from the other

  • If you need your gecko healthier just vitamin spray and calcium powder on your crickets

  • Thats a BEAUTIFUL Gecko.

  • m9 does bugger all and has to be hand fed so boring and dnt move :( nothing like that at all

  • Hey guys!

Leopard geckos, ball pythons and beardies feel free to subscribe and ask any questions :)

  • hay is it true that you can put a leo and a african geckos together???

  • that what i did

  • Mine seem to work fine. I have 2 leos and 1 african.

  • No! Leopard gecko is different to african gecko so that whay they cannot been put together.

  • FUCK that was cool.

  • Okey there is two very good points made below from "M09rnie/Jezhughes" and thats not to keep your Gecko's on sand, Especially if you plan to feed you pet in this area" on each strike of a cricket it will collect a few grains of sand it will lead to impaction and sadly die > not to mention the abrasive wearing on hes legs and lower body..."

  • thats why you get calclium sand

  • Comment removed

  • @bigT429 its always better to stay away from sands, go with tree bark shavings or crushed wallnut shells, that makes the best substrate (and it's cleaner)

  • and woodchips which i have... u'd see if u check my vids

  • My African Fat Tailed barely eats, but hes still a big boy. I guess he eats at night, not sure. Looks like hes doing good, he must have a high metabolism as well, considering he eats so much! Good hunting on the gecko!

  • " he barely eats "

    "considering he eats so much"

  • stupid dont put them on sand they swallow it and die

  • god thats just impaction waiting to happen

  • lol mine a fat ass i put in as many crickits he eats them all the meal worms he eats them all then he is still wants food so i give him some veg

  • @ 1:15 I love the little tail shake :P My leo does the same :)

  • Isn't that too much?

  • no you feed them till their not hungry any more he just takes out what he doesnt eat

  • where can you get fat tail geckos at

  • petco seems to have them regularly and there like 50.00 bocks there really cool im thinkin bout getin one

  • a breeder you can get any gecko or probably any legal lizard from reptile breeders

  • Way to many geckos he could get impacted....but good video i think i got a fat tailed african gecko im not sure could u check it out plz?

  • Wow that's a cool leopard gecko you got there. How old is he?

  • its a fat tail gecko

  • not a leopard gecko

  • those 5hings are awsome

  • theyre so similar to leopard geckos

  • You can house them together as long as they don't act violently to one another.

  • lol i didnt say if they could be housed together, i said they look alot alike,

  • nah...iwas just making an inference.

  • lol k and sorry, didnt meant to sound rude

  • Females can house together but males cant

  • ciao sapete dove si potrebbero acquistare geki?!?! cmq qst ha davvero fame...ehehehh bellissimo!!

  • very cool lizard you have got there

  • leopard geckos only need a umidity hide, fat tails need to be sprayed about every other day. get your facts straight son.

  • i want a fat tail now =] i have a leo tho

  • beautiful gecko

  • How many times a week do u feed ur gecko?

    Sweet gecko btw

  • I have an african fat tail called lisa and when i bought her they said you cantkeep leos and fats tails together. But if anyone else knows better... by the way she looks exactley like mine then again all african fat tails look the same lol

  • hey i always wanted to know if you could breed a fat tailed with a regualr leo? just a thought it would prolly have a massive tail due =)

  • at 0:38, the fat tail gecko squished that cricket into the sand. lol

  • where can i buy african fat tailed geckos?

  • can a taranrula eat a leopard gecko

  • SUZIE!!!! GET THE KIDS WE CAN ESCAPE THE CAGE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! WE ARE ALL GONNA DIE!!!! "Little cricket, you are mine!=)"

  • damn hes a beast

  • Wow he's gorgeous. Cute too. I have a pair of leopard geckos and he kinda looks like the girl. I love their little tail wags lol :)

  • you should switch the sand with peat moss, fat tails need higher humidity than what sand can provide

  • wow i have a leopard gecko and i have never seen him eat this fast

  • fat tailed gecko and leopard gecko both like exactly the same i have a leo getting a fat tailed gecko to go wid her after xmas

  • what you say is untrue. leopard geckos and fat tails need different requirements. they are different species.

as such it is not good for them to put them together. your leo will bully your fatty, guaranteed. if you actually care about your animals you will not put them together.

  • I love how geckos wag their tails sometimes before they catch, it is a good heads up to look.

  • Crickets ftw!!!

btw how did u get all these crickets?

  • he bought them in a pet store.

  • 1:18 !

  • lol look at him move his front leg at 0:56

  • hahaha

  • that must be the happiest gecko.

  • nice video i have one to. this is a dumb question but does you gecko ever wag his tail and widen his eyes?

  • my leapord gecko dose sometimes when hje sees me with butter worms or superworms and that gecko is called a leapord gecko

  • no its an african fat tail

    leos arent brown

  • ty dude

  • to answer everyones questions. Geckos twitch their tails so that if a preditor is near by as the gecko is hunting then if they want to try eating the gecko it will go for it's tail.

Your gecko shouldn't be on sand because it causes impaction.

  • Holy crap! What an appetite!

  • how many did you put in? omg haha.

He´s a really good eater i see that! beautiful too :P

  • I had 2 leopard geckos and I never figured it out why there tail twitches right before they attack something

  • IS this gecko still alive?

  • fat tail geckos can live for 20 years or more.

  • Fat tail's shouldn't be kept on sand, they need a much more humid enviroment.

  • he is sweet !

check out my fat tail vid

  • is like derasic park ! but all the pepsles is crickets

  • the crickets are like "run away!!!"

  • sweet gecko

  • a gecko eating in daylight is rare, so don't worry about that BIGben9595! You might have more luck when you use a heating stone instead of a lamp. Make the room slightly darker by closing the curtains for example. You won't get instant success but you will over time.

  • damn that boi Can eat

  • nice vid and fat tail. my wont eat when the light is on though =P.

  • dude, don't use sand for fat tails use peat moss. I have a fat tail to and three leopard geckos.

  • How often do you feed that gecko

  • hey how much u feed ur gecko?????????????????till its full or like u give a certain amount every feeding?

  • but it not species so nothing come from it

    xox

    xox

ZOMG teh n00bz R comentin alot onm tis vidao! :O

  • i think thats a few too many crickets you put in there.

  • No you can not dross them. They are two different species, like dogs and cats.

  • if it species it would be like cocker spaniel and lab

  • no seriously, they will if you dont give the crickets something to eat while the geckos sleep. i first noticed that crickets will try to bit the gecko if it gets too hungry when i tried puttin a lot of crickets in but they kept botherin the poor thing while he slept. you can give them carrots or lettuce

  • 10 gallon?

  • I used to have an African Fat Tailed Gecko! His name was Sir Ickabod Prettyboy. I loved him... He died, though. :( Mysterious illness. This guy's really cool! He looks exactly like Icky did. ^_^

  • hey does anyone know if you could combine one of these with a leopard ?

  • that looks like a leapord gecko to me.

  • they are cousins, they are both in the "eyelid" gecko family.

    leapord gecko: Eublepharis macularius

    fat tailed gekcko: Hemitheconyx caudicinctus

  • yea i dont have leaperd geckoss but have seen some like that but mostly really bright color morphs. Are there any color morphs of fat tails?
