Unfortunately, necrosis is a possible outcome from surgery. I worked for a PI attorney who took a case of a lady who developed necrosis after breast implant redo (take out silicone and put in saline) thru the nipple. Her nipple turned black and basically, her breast rotted off. We ended up dropping the case because it stated in the paperwork she signed prior to surgery that necrosis was a possible side effect of the surgery. Not all outcomes are great.
I just had a rhinoplasty with this doctor and was completely happy with his work and the staff at his office. I recomend him if you're looking to having rhinoplasty. He's the best around and I'v done my homework.
Micheal sounds like an opportunistic bastard. I saw him on Dr Phil and his nose seemed perfectly fine. I think the HIPAA laws make the doctors very vulnerable to such smear campaigns. Google Dr Barry Eppley and you'll know what i mean
i have a question for u...random...is there any possible way i can get jaw surgery without insurance? i cant breath through my nose properly because of my jaw. i have an underbite :[ i was scheduled to have the surgery last year but i was in florida and i missed it :( they took away my insurance too because im almost 18. :[[ is there anything i can do before i get too old to get this procedure done?! is there any way i can get it without insurance?! please SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!! IM BEGGING!!!!!
i have had TWO MAJOR SURGERIES done. one was PRK to fix my vision. that has some very severe and dangerous risks. luckily, it worked out for me. 11 years later now (i got it age 21), i have near perfect vision.
i also had a rhinoplasty done. again, there were major risks: complications, asymmetry, undesired result, infection (more bills), and a few more. luckily, the end result was satisfactory (relative to my face shape and features).
there are so many bones in the face...im confused as why he didn't quit at two...ridiculous. his nose looked fine before...what can i say, vanity is a bitch.
That's stupid, no amount of money will buy you a guarantee of perfection. Apparently the patient had infectious complications, which is unfortunately common in all types of surgery.
Doctors are no more perfect than the rest of us who may choose the risks of surgery. It's called a "risk" because the outcome is not guaranteed. Sure there are wacko Dr's out there, but the checks and balances of the organizations that govern them do a pretty good job at kicking them out.
((Not enough room in other comment, sorry for double posting but i needed to add something.)) It just all seems so dumb, if I had something that brittle (plastic surgery is for looks not strength or theyd just make the nose big and solid) and that valuable (rhinoplasty isnt cheap) i wouldnt risk getting in those kinds of situations or your asking for it. Like if you get surgery two times on your wrist, and some huge guy wants to arm wrestle you...why the f*** would you go "yeah man lets go!" lol
I like how people just attack the doctor "you need a F**n rhinoplasty" and "useless doctor" The guys just trying to do his job and not get a bunch of keyboard warriors after him. First of all, if i put all that money into 2 nose jobs, and then was stupid enough to get in the middle of a bar fight, and get my face bashed in, i would think i deserved what i got? Its common sense. This all could have been avoided if the patient just kept his "nose out of other peoples business" at the bar. ho-ho-ho
Rhinoplasty is one of the most complicated plastic surgery procedures out there. That's why many people have to have redos on their noses. This guy had 2 prior surgeries so this doc had to figure out how to correct a nose that had already been severely compromised. I got the sense that this man did the best he could for this patient. He expressed remorse for the outcome and I'm sure this isn't the outcome he wished for either. I think a lot of this was out of the surgeon's control.
it makes you realise how serious having cosmetic surgery is and how different it is to have it in reality than in comparison to how the media portrays it eg shows like extreme makeover they are so misleading, it looks so easy to lie on the operating table have it done then magic you are all new and improved ,in reality surgery is surgery and serious complications can happen always do your research and be 100% sure you really need and want to have it and if the risk worth it so no regrets later.
sure the doctor should have done everything he could when he noticed the nose had gone bad, but do you think this particular patient wanted that? the doctor is obliged to, since he performed the surgery in the first place. My guess is the patient got pissed off and threatened with lawsuits and such, if i was the doctor id say sure ill fix it, then id cut off the nose entirely saying gangreen had set in or something. fuck the patient, my sympathies go out to doc
Seriously, This is not Dr. Gunter's fault. What do you want the doctor to do? He did the surgery! That was his job. Michael knew the risk and he decided to go ahead and do it! Don't make the doctor look bad. It's like if you get a stomach surgery and the doctor tells you there is a rare chance this can cause an ulcer. Then you develop an ulcer but it's not the doctor's fault!
he thought that the paste that he put on would fix up the problem
either way - this is probably why doctors have malpractice insurance. I can see that each side is right (michael = bad nose, doctor = did everything he could for a 2nd rhinoplasty)
EVERYONE RELAX! ..its a nose who cares! fuck look at Micheal jack sons nose..how many time did his nose fall of..go and find out..how many nose jobs he had..i think over 10
the doctor did nothing wrong, the guy just had bed luck! now of course he wants to make money out of this, he expected to have a singing carreer and wanted a new nose..the singing sucked, so now he's frustrated and wants to get famous on the internet...that's the true story
Everyone heals differently, and if this was a secondary surgery, perhaps he didn't take care of his nose the way he did after the surgery. Anything can happen, you can't blame the doctor for EVERYTHING. The guy didn't even look bad before he had the surgery in the first place, I don't understand why people have to be so vain and do these things to themselves, and then when it goes wrong they want to blame anyone but themselves. If it had gone right, do you think this complaint would've happened?
You can go surf the web and see all the nose job horror stories and photos you want! Before I did my breast, I saw photos of women with rotting holes in their exposing their implants and I just went ahead. Knowing all the risks involve, I can never blame my doctor and unfortunately, if you dont do your own research you will never know every single risk. The doctor will tell you some of the risks but not all! It is your job to read and learn or DONT DO IT! Secondary nose jobs has many risks!
I soooo don't blame the doctor! This guy got gangrene or necrosis of the nose which is very very unfortunate. I have breast implants and before I got them, I researched it to the fullest! I saw good photos as well as bad and I also watched the surgery online done in many different ways so I knew what I was getting into. Seeing photos of rotting breasts told me that it could possibly happen to me but I proceeded with surgery that I am happy with thank God. This man did not research enough.
Thanks to Dr's willing to "attempt" to repair instead of having NO options - rotten should consider his trauma to be real but misdirected. Mistakes happen but life is more precise. Get the repair surgery, bill this Dr for the difference and perhaps some suffering and MOVE ON! You should STOP this VINDICTIVE BEHAVIOR! Bravo to the DR for also going public. SLEAZY SUE HAPPY ATTENTION CRAVING PEOPLE AFFECT US ALL. I wonder what the next Dr in Chicago does "wrong". Reminds meof a Nip/Tuck episode!
You dont know that he wasnt given proper care. It is one person's word against another's. And thats why this story is frustrating to me as a person considering this procedure. The reason he is all over the internet is because he puts himself all over every single plastic surgery web site and others. AND he set up a site about how we can donate money to him for what happened. I did feel sorry for him and considered both sides of the situation. yes it is sad. but this guy is deranged.
Um, no I'm not. I know it sounds rude but I see this guy everywhere! on every web site. I swear, all he does is try to convinvce people not to get a nose job. I don't think it was okay that that happened to him but enough is enough already. You have to consider both sides of the story and no one does.
shut up rottingnose. all you seem to care about is getting as much money as possible. you don't represent yourself very well. i'm sick of seeing your stupid crap all over the internet. get a revision and move on. maybe you were just one of those 1 in a 100000 unsuccessful people.
I was not hit in the nose nor was it even damaged...and I only had ONE primary before you. no no....You did not tell me to go home and think about it...you said I think I can get you a good result...no warnings from you!....
How are you doing now? According to Gunter's message you are being treated in Chicago, whose you're new doctor, is it Toriumi by any chance? Are you from Chicago or you are traveling again?
I really, really hope the best for you. I will pray for a successful recovery and wish nothing but the best for you.
I understand that he probably went through a really traumatic experience but you guys need to look at both sides of the story. Do you even know anything about nose jobs? Michael has been on so many message boards and web sites talking about this and has publicised it so much. He has given 2 completely different stories about how his nose was broken. I'm not saying that this justifies what happened. I just think he's pissed off because he wanted to be a famous country singer and he wants revenge.

the point: was there neglect by dr. gunter? risks are NOT his fault. they are built into the surgery, regardless of who does them.

There are two doctors that never had a surgery complication... the liar and the one that doesn't do surgery.
Medicine is not math.
Gunter is one of the best, and he will continue to be.
Do you think he did that on purpose ?
Move on...

Surgeries can end up with complications, even if the surgeon does everything correctly during the surgery.
Not even the best of surgeons has a 100% success rate.
Don't blame a doctor for the simple fact of life that things can go wrong, no matter what you do.
