why tapondo i do aikido in the middle east and my master came from the phil by the master tapondo....so stupid for the master hat made apondo when it should really be be aikido...coz maybe he wants to be known for his own originality..

This was a good demonstration of how to encounter street fighting. With the exception of the woman in the beginning, the attitude of the attacker is just like the one you would see if you encounter a street thug. I only wish the video was clearer.

"COMBAT" implies someone is actually trying to hurt you. Look at the attacker. Her strike is chambered and broadcast before she is even fully on her feet.

hey! comabt aikido is a traditional aikido they just reform it or shorten the distance technique that the old days do!... and it is basically effective also the same as traditional aikido it's just the name for a filipino community ok tapondo for school purposes only ok... for those who doesnt know anything about us......

For those who are pessimistic about Tapondo, look at yourself first if you got the self-discipline and deserve respect from other martial arts practitioners.

If we will analyze Jeet Kune Do by Bruce Lee, there is no such martial arts like this before he studied martial arts, but he refined all the martials arts he learned into one and named it as Jeet Kune Do. So why do you say Tapondo sucks if you do not know what it really does? Remember, we have common denominator in learning different martial arts; and that's for self-defense, self-discipline, and most specially RESPECT for others.

There have been so many versions of aikido from its original founder O Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, and that's a fact. Let us give due respect to the person who established such martial arts (Tapondo), none other than a Filipino aikido master, Monching Gavileño, who believed that aikido can be refined in Philippine style.

what is combat aikido. oh my god. oh sensei will cry. please don't change the principle. aikido is not for combat.very contrary.

there is no "combat aikido"

You cannot train Aikido for combat, because if the attacker attacks real, the aikido technique will be much harder then you know it from different videos..

If you try to train "combat aikido" you need a new attacker every minute.

Aikido is mercyful - think about it..
