What difference(s) is/are there between Spanish Water Dogs and Lagotto Romagnolos? They look exactly alike to me except one has a tail and the other's is docked.
@jfkjrlover A Spanish Water Dog is a herding / hunting dog used for many different roles throughout Spain including diving for fish that escape the fishermans net. The Lagottos were used in Italy as a truffle hunting dogs as far as I know, also they are a good general hunter.
There is a difference in head shape and coat (you dont get full cords in the Lagottos) although this can, at times, be hard to see.
In the UK neither breed is docked anymore, hence what you see are natural tails

@jfkjrlover In the UK the Spanish can still be docked if it's going to be worked.
As said head shape is a bit more rounded on a Lagotto, coats are slightly different and body shape is a bit finer o the Lagotto's than the Spanish.
