@cavemantiger Science does NOT always prevail. In fact, followed to its ultimate end, science fails by breaking its own rules. Top physicists will agree that at some point, they must theorize something that can never be proven (string theory, alternate universes, etc.). All of the theories so far proposed are so far fetched they ultimately require the same leap of faith that religion does.

The layout of Southern Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa was such that there could be a free flow of ideas between populations. One population would invent an idea and others could then modify and utilize them such as the Arabs and Algebra. West and Southern Africa were so far cut off from where many of these new ideas were being shared. Common sense.

I believe the Romans wrote the New Testament, that can be pretty much proven with the sequential satirical parallels with the Roman-Jewish war. But Piso? It's difficult to know for sure. The theory looks great and feels great but it's lacking. I am not saying they're wrong, but lack strong evidence to pin-point like that.
I have read Piso-Christ and it's certainly insightful. I hope they are right and look forward to more from them.

i didn't exactly deny completely they weren't. i know in ancient times, the conquered were treated as insubordinate. as far as i am concerned, for a warrior culture, and for a moral nihilist such as myself, they had full right to. there was a lot of emphasis on 'survival of the fittest' back then whether or not they knew it. it is still in effect today. the strong survive, the weak must still struggle in nature.
