  • if everybody gave, like everybody could

  • i really enjoyed the song the way it was first written but it`s great anyhow as if no one really noticed the difference, i will always remember the words to this song in its entirety and my memories it brings back including the visions of the librarians aid it reminds me of. THANKS

  • I wanna screw to this song ~(8^}*

  • Fucking hipster music makes me laugh my ass off. xD

  • Why is everyone so concerned about where everyone else discovered this song? sheesh, hipsters....

  • was just going to reply to a comment but i got stuck in the rythms like a moth in a flaming spider web.

  • This dudes voice is quality. Like in the catagory of James Taylor.

  • nice stuff!

  • tried to download world of warcraft on my pc before it says my computer is incompatible - download it when listening to my morning jacket and the it downloads fine - mmj makes everything ok :D

  • @Areyourealythatdumb :D dont they?

  • Saw them live. I cried when they played this. It's quite beautiful.

  • this song makes me think of my girlfriend, shes a librarian :)

  • Picked up their new album at ear X-tacy, great music. :) :)

  • @pdjo0921 LOUISVILLE! WOOT! Saw them at the Yum center.

  • Im pretty sure they were quite happy American dad got them a bigger fan base! I don't see what everyone's problem is. though I wish comments weren't just a list of people saying "american dad brought me here" shut up, no one particularly cares.

  • Tumbs up if your not here because of American Dad , its because you know good music.

  • @TheDeathAddiction Get off your high horse. I know a lot of good music. Who cares where I first heard them? You're not fucking cool because you liked them before I did.

  • @PrevelantPredators I never said anything to you so like chill down. Also, get a life that comment was like 3 months ago.

  • @TheDeathAddiction You didn't say anything to me specifically, but you're addressing people like me who came here because of American Dad. When you made the comment doesn't matter, because it's still relevant.

  • @PrevelantPredators Okay well, grow up and chill out.

  • @TheDeathAddiction How about you stop being a hipster and go far far away, where no one has to deal with your nonsense?

  • @PrevelantPredators I'm not a hipster. So you're not insulting me.

  • Song which makes my soul sad. :(

  • most of the time im ignorant towards all music, so when i heard this band i was really amazed. theyre really amazing.

  • I've loved them since 2000. :) Yeah, way before A.D.

  • this is the best song of all time.

  • i'm a librarian and i just love this song with all my soul!!!!

  • shut up. you look like an idiot for saying this.

  • This song says everything I want to say to a librarian who doesn't have a clue how cute she really is.

  • @italiaholic

So what exactly about this "shit" makes it "suck" so much that anyone listening to it and liking it must have had their "balls removed"?

  • @italiaholic I agree this is utter shit but the music-industry has changed and because one person thought the chill, lo-fi music was cool it spread like a faggot disease called Hipster

  • thumbs up if you're from Louisville!!!

  • Replay button broken <3.

  • thumbs up if you saw them on American Dad!

  • Music is knowledge. Don't try to control where people get it from.

  • you probably heard them and didn't know it before nabacar.com

  • yeah i did hear about this band american dad but who cares? They're a good band so get over it

  • Excellent song, dedicated to the librarians in their day

  • thumbs up if you honestly only heard about this from "American Dad!" P.S. fuck you boarding5401 they suck pink floyd will take you on a "trip" not these faggs

  • @funnydotorg LOL "one of those shit third graders"

  • He sounds like Robert Pecknold from Fleet Foxes!!!! <3

  • I never claimed it was anything other than my opinion. Make no mistake, I'm not dissing the band, or its fans - I'm merely confused by all the hype, when everything I listened to so far just doesn't measure up. It happens all the time with every form of art - a meme starts to generate over a specific artist, and some people "get it", while others scratch their heads. Consider me in the latter bunch with regards to My Morning Jacket, but otherwise, I wish them well.

  • it is a really good song and I had never heard it nabacar.com

  • Thank YOU american dad =D

  • @jnmynes we all like different music, im sorry your choices of music suck ass.

  • @jnmynes STOP TALKING ABOUT YOURSELF

  • @Yand0008 HURR DURR "STOP TALKING ABOUT YOUR SELF" WHAT ARE YOU SEVEN??? GROW THE FUCK UP. I guess now I know what the intelligence level of people who listen to this crap is. This music sucks, end of story.

  • @jnmynes nou

  • @funnydotorg hahaha 69 thumbs up im not going to thumbs up it

  • this is my fav mmj song.

  • I'm about to sample this song and turn in into a hip hop song. For those of you who are skeptical about rap should take a look and i guarantee i'm unlike anyone you've ever heard. A.J.G.

  • @AlexJayy3291 naw dont kill it

  • @david27666 Oh i'm gonna kill it, just not in the way you thought.

  • I keep hearing about how great this band is, and I've been listening to as much as I can, but I'm finding that they're just not as awesome as people have over-hyped them to be. This song was the last one I could bare before giving up.

  • @Craigination yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

  • Hey hey, why is it that you children must argue over something only you and your abusive step-fathers actually cared about? Really, are you like stupid? Is the real world, like, way to challenging for you? So you only argue on YOUTUBE, where you can't even see their face? Because obviously FaceBook is to scary for you, you guys are trolls, grow up, and get out.

  • Thumbs up if you get a kick out of pretentious music snobs :D

  • @makemebleede Such as yourself :D

  • anyone else get that Karen Carpenter "another victim of the mirror's evil way" part? she died from anorexia because a newspaper reviewer had earlier wrote that she was heavy, very sad actually

  • heared of them through Oberst, so thats on him.

  • @shakemeshakeme Conor is amazing.

  • if you like this then you might appreciate Lord Huron- Stranger, kinda similar, but not really, but kinda...... just listen to it!

  • i love them...

  • Why were they born into the Genaration were every one likes crap music than they would have been the most popular band ever :(

  • @TheLilblondeemo to bring balance to the force of course :D

  • Learn how to meet women naneedj.info

  • @funnydotorg it's called pretension. He's pretentious. That's all.

Looking for a music wich intensifies your life through all those years. No, I will shut up, this wonder song is wordless.

  • @hendrix184 haha nice dude

  • never hurt of the Fleet Foxes? Also verry verry nice......

  • @tuttifruthy fuck yea

  • I really really loved Evil Urges when it came out, it knocked me sideways and still does................and I agree that it doesn't matter where kids hear good music, you've gotta start somewhere.....and this is a fine place to.

  • This song is so peacefull that even looks more like a lullaby

  • this band has more hair that all of north america :D they are still great though

  • With all this talk about how everyone discovered this band, I figured i would share my story.

I was up at my schools metalsmithing studio late one night along with a few classmates finishing up some projects that were due. Most of the classmates were girls, so of course they feel entitled to control the music. After countless britney spears and lady gaga tracks, my brain couldn't take any more. So me and a buddy of mine in the class when out and burned some trees and went back to thestudio...

  • as I continued working, noticed the music had changed. I was like "damn this is good." my friend was like "what? the music?" and I was like "no, I was talking about the buds." But I started actually listenin to the music, and it was this song. It was probably the best possible song to hear after all the gaga and spears crap. It was so damn beautiful. now im a fan. :)

  • @beebo777 That was a fantastic story. After smokin some trees I will have to remember to play this song. You gave me ideas. :)

  • Great band. Sucks that mostly everyone found out about it because of American Dad

  • Same thing as cyouinhelldirtbag, heard this from american dad. It's simply Godlike

  • A lot of people/critics have said JJ's lyrics don't make any sense, don't mean anything or just aren't good. I love that there's this song now to rub in those people's faces. Shows how perfect "simple" can be

  • I absolutely love this ....librarian....and all the other pieces....this is a wonderful group of musicians..thank you for all and hope all your lives are full of peace and prosperity.

  • This song is SUBLIME.

    I didn't know about the A.D. I'll search some videos :D

  • I swear if this song came out in the 60's - 70's people would know a lot more about My Morning Jacket

  • fvcking brilliant.

  • I love this band

Never would have heard of them if is wasn't for American Dad!!

  • on the monsters of folk cd cover... jim james looks like a lion! hehe and mike mogis looks like an aligator...

  • ok it's true i got this band from American Dad, but the thing is...they are truly fantastic!

  • Wow!!! I love this song!!!!

  • friggin awesome voice.

  • What the hell happened in with this show "american dad" that has everyone talking about american dad on the MMJ videos?

  • @Helly1223 Because they were featured in an episode of the show in which Stan became obsessed with them haha.

    Awesome BTW.

  • @Helly1223 There was episode in which Stan becomes obsessed with MMJ. It was the first place most of us heard them and a lot of people came here to say so. But now most people like to say something about it because it pisses off the idiots who think they're cooler than everyone else because they heard of MMJ before A.D.

  • @GoinCreekin haha

  • omg! Just heard this song on public television. it's awesome!

  • @chleelis I 'am with you...and i am in LOVE!!!!!!!!!! i had to look them up . the music is beautiful!!!!

  • Great song

  • The only band that's not from the 60's that brings me back to the 60's. Anyone else think so?

  • @vinnen6 Couldnt agree more

  • @vinnen6 i brought my mom out to hear the greatnes and she compared itto her "good" music... love it

  • @vinnen6 MMJ & the Clientele.

  • @vinnen6 Was just thinking the same thing as I read that.

  • @vinnen6 I love this song and all the others. What great musical writing and words. I wish this group would come to Portland, OR. I think they are terrific.

  • @vinnen6 huh

  • @vinnen6 They remind me more of the 70's, but they are fantastic regardless

  • @vinnen6 Dr. Dog will, too.

  • @vinnen6 I know. I feel lame for liking something modern. But I like it. Anyone else think they should do a Wooden Ships cover?

  • @jackdoldseven ??? "I feel lame for liking something modern"? Why does something modern automatically make it shitty? I cannot understand ppl who say that modern music is shit and old music is great, just cuz it's new doesn't mean it's garbage cuz there are plenty of talented modern bands out there and many which ppl doon't even know about.

Personally, i enjoy modern bands more than older bands.

  • @Chemical373g People do the same thing vice-versa. The only difference is people that dislike new stuff are more into the better, deeper music. The people who dislike classic music is just a stupid assumption because it's "old".

And really, I've heard less than 5 good albums come out in the last 5 years.

  • @TheRockinRowl I don't think "old" bands are garbage i just personally don't enjoy the majority of them. As for the new bands, i think it also just depends on a person's taste, not that they're crappy.

  • @Chemical373g Well personally I don't give a fuck. Because I don't. Because trend and style reflect age. And the style of this age is horrid. So finding a rare band with what seems to be an older style of music is pretty amazing. And for all I know about the band they could be another Disney tool band. Don't treat it like this band takes an example from the generation we live in. Because I highly doubt it, looking at everything else recently spawned and labeled as music.

  • @jackdoldseven u don't have 2 sound like an asshole, i wasn't dissing you or old bands. i just can't understand why ppl hate new legitimate bands that exist now (not disney shit). Bands like Modest Mouse, Peter Bjorn and John, Foster the People i think r good. idk, maybe i have to listen to old bands more closely to truly appreciate them, but i just can't get into the sound. As for disney bullshit i do not and never will listen to anything that sounds like the fuckin shit that disney spews.

  • @Chemical373g And I was dissing new bands. Just hate the stereo-type that they are put under and by extension the stereo-type the listeners are put under. Trust me man, ANYTHING from the 60s or 70s sounded alright. I can't exactly say the same for the 21st century

  • @jackdoldseven dude and let me tell you dude your looking at whats on the radio i admit thats radio music sucks but the underground music. theirs alwayssomthing worth listening to.its sucks that theirs all theese great bands that get put under because ppl dont trully listen to what their talkin about and what they weir feeling when they wrote their music. all just because its modern and they think it aoutomaticlly sucks. truly listen to the undergound

  • @Chemical373g i agree that music is music and should be apreiated from any point of veiw this music isnt set up like old music it is its own thing. theyr is certain music that sounds good if you go thru all eras. theis always going to be someone good/ i personnaly like alot of the old bands but i like a lot of new bands. i just think alot lot of people who disagree dont look in the right places, but instead hear whats on the radio. so what if this guy doesnt like some old bands respect his taste

  • @maker702 That's exactly what i was talking about, it's all about looking in the right places

  • @vinnen6 where you alive in the 60's?

  • My Morning Jacket well send me to American Dad!

    Thanks MMJ !!

  • HOLY SHIT i think the guy on the far right put in my shower and sink today i swear to god no joke

  • I didn't really contribute to the magic of the song. I just picked out the paint color on the wall. I think it represents the vulnerability of mankind...kind of like how bears tear apart salmon in Alaskan streams. That's the idea. Bears eating salmon on the hotel wall. I guess I'm part of the song after all. Circle of life people.

  • taint that sweet

  • If you listen to the Beatles "And I Love Her" you might hear some influences.

  • @nealart

    Nah, I don't hear it...

  • @nealart I don't hear it

  • the zepp of our moden day? seriously epic band

  • @zgp92 i feel yim yames a reincarnation of john lennon and jimmy hendrix...

His letters are more of a lennon depth, not plants psycadelical sublime texts.

    <3 MMJ

  • American Dad

  • jim james and ezra (from vamp weekend) are musical genuises. my heaven would be those two bands playing on the mountain tops of lucerne switzerland or the beaches of costa rica with.

  • Saw these guys on In the Basement Sessions. Hell of a band. Thanks for the post.

  • na. ya all wrong.

at dawn is best mmj album.

  • 'Karen of the carpenters- singing in the rain...

Another lovely victim of the mirror's evil way.'

Wow man!...how come could he wrote something like that? beautiful lyrics!!! :D

  • I thank both.. American Dad for introducing me to this amazing band, and of course Jim James himself.

  • @RoadKill1313 I agree with you man
