the robot xylophone is to show an extension beyond simple synth parts. They works very well, but are less interesting visually.
Re the musicality of the part - we're talking about very small fluctuations here. It uses a timestretching algorithm - elastique by Zplane - that is part of Ableton Live. So if it's playing a pre-recorded audio part, you don't notice the speeding up. It just means the bakcing feels in some way responsive to you. It's certainly not to cover up!
A great concept, but doesnt seem very useful in practice. What happens if the drummer makes a mistake? How "musical" can a pre-recorded track be when its trying to speed up/slow down to follow a drummer?
BTW, the robot xylophone thing is very distracting. I dont understand the point. Why not use a nice, clean synth sound so everyone can hear how accurate this thing really is? Was it to cover up tempo aberrations?
This is only for MAC. Is there gonna be a PC version ??

Brilliant - I downloaded it and can't wait to try it out in the studio and live.
