  • i like his conducting

  • This is fricken awesome!

  • wow i never heard any song in an orchestra that started with a string bass solo. AMAZING <3

  • Eschenbach is able to know and to transmit the exact second, the exact time, the exact pause, the exact rhythm!! It makes me shiver!! Think in all those holocausts not only the Jewish one.... I love and admire Jewish people but let's say that a holocaus, t could be Vietnam, Rwanda, Chiapas (Mexico), Korean War against USA, Civil War in Spain, Ciudad Juárez (Mexico), Somalia, Tibet, Palestinians demanding their land, those who are trying to survive and they can't!!!

  • Eschenbach recently joined the D.C National Symphony Orchestra. Being a resident of VA, I hope he can help turn the Kennedy Center around; it breaks my heart to see empty seats in such a beautiful theater

  • ♥.......

  • My favorite Mahler symphony.

  • My first Mahler #1 was Seiji Ozawa's in the mid 70's under the DGG label.

  • this is frere jacque, sing it and you'll see

  • @bernsteinlara Thanks for stating the obvious :D

  • @bernsteinlara Thank you, Captain Obvious!

  • @bernsteinlara YOU DON'T SAY?!?!?!?

  • @bernsteinlara It should however be noted that this is in minor, while fere jacque is commonly sung in major.

    Captain obvious to the rescue!

  • I had to restart this half way cause it was so beautiful I need to hear it from beginning and probably will never reach the end x.x

  • What sort of instrument is that at 1:08? Some sort of euphonium? I've never seen a brass instrument with valves for both hands.

  • @Sylderon it's a tuba with 6 valves. depending on the model and brand, the valves will be in different places.

  • @jimy199

Fascinating. Perhaps I shall look further into that.

  • My god! what a fantastic Bass player! Bravo!

  • 1:00 pedo smile.

  • @xThericKx

    Who cares.

  • What tone! What chutzpah (Sorry Linz...)

  • hey i think i ve seen stephanie at fluts?helllo is that you stephanie???hahaha

  • I love this symphony.. Thanks so much for this wonderful recording, This piece is one of the reasons why I've decided to become a professional musician...

  • OMG!!!

  • excellent camera work, where was this broadcast?

  • professor X and his physics powers

  • Shit this is damn good...

  • I think this is my favorite classical composition.

  • Contrary to what Youtube is telling me, there is no way this is a 360p video.

  • просто роскошество какое-то, эта музыка! какая внутренняя красота, насыщенность нотная!

  • Genius

  • Brilliant Bass playing at the beginning. You can see he really loves it. We don't often get much of a chance to solo in Orchestral pieces so it must be great to play this in such an esteemed orchestra. Bravo!

  • which orchestra is playing this?

  • @nickwboy the Orchestre de Paris, at the Salle Pleyel, i think.

  • im speechless... this is just out of this world...

  • is this in Athens?

  • @sebastian181812 In Paris, recorded in the Salle Pleyel, i think.

  • fantastic... the best version of this symphony i´ve ever heard :)

  • thankssss a lot for this!!!

  • @jaaronsh sure, no problem ^^

  • Thank you for uploading the rest of this, Eschenbach made some really great quality recordings of the Mahler symphonies. Much appreciated. : )

  • @heartlessangel101 No problem :D
