I personally had very little problems with Western Digital drives, assuming that they're not mainly for low-end desktops. As a PC/server technician, I've worked with the the high-end versions, designed to run 24/7, with no problems at all.

I even got a WD Caviar Black 1TB drive right now, sitting along with 2x 160GB Seagate SATA and 1x 320 Maxtor IDE HD (5400RPM) on my system and none of them have broken down yet!

Oh, and note that Linus wore socks while wearing sandals... :P

been western digital user since way back when they started making them for home computers. tried one seagate many yeas ago and it sucked and never bought anything but WD drives since! i remember 8" floppies and tape saving devices as well as hard drives that where big as a shoe box. my 1st computer was The Commodore PET with 8 kilobytes of memory, two built-in cassette drives, and a membrane "chiclet" keyboard. WD FOREVER!!! would love one of those troll guys & pen. hope an old user wins one
