22 years ago, when I was 7, I learned this tune in school. The first verse in Finish and 3 verses of a rough German transation (I live in Switzerland). Glad to hear it again, I liked it so much I learned all the verses even if I wasn't sur how to pronounce it. Luckily I didn't sing it too wrong over all this years :-)

I bi so begeisteret gsi dass i mitere Kollegin no di angere Strofeene glernt ha, möcht aber nid wüsse wie das für finnischi Ohre tönt het.

Mein Halb-Bruder, aufgewachsen in Deutschland hat dieses finnische Lied in der ersten Klasse kennengelernt. Ich, wiederum, aufgewachsen in Finnland, fand es damals "lustig, dass er das Lied - welches ein altes, ost-finnisches (karelisches) Lied ist - auch singen konnte.

@pipedipoo Ich war vor einem Monat bei einem Schulschlussfest in einem kleinen Ort in der Schweiz, da haben sie es auch gesungen, anscheinend ein zeitloses Lied!
