Congrats to this edit! great how you worked out your own storyline..it even has humour in it, the cut to Deckard on duty in his flying police car cracks me up!
What is the song called where in the movie they are all in a club and blood starts spraying in from the ceiling? It's an electro type song? Help anyone?
I'm glad Vangelis did this and they didn't use The Ink Spots' hit "If I Didn't Care" as heard in the trailer, since it's used in many other movies. With this, it's only in Blade Runner, and that's good.
@humbleradio "If I Didn't Care" is in the the Workprint Edition of the movie. Ridley Scott couldn't use it in the theatrical release due to copyright problems!
@mhz888 "In the novel, Deckard is an active bounty hunter working in San Francisco rather than a Los Angeles detective. He is tasked with hunting down six escaped replicants, called "androids" in the novel, who hope not to extend their lifespans, but simply to escape slavery on the colonies. The term "blade runner" is not used in the book". from wiki
Not to be confused with the pre-movie release of the novel "Blade Runner". The original novel goes deep into all sorts of directions.
Just beautiful! Vangelis and Don Percival wrote this as a substitute when director Ridley Scott couldn't secure the rights to "If I Didn't Care" by The Inkspots. If I didn't know better, i would have sworn that this song was written back in the 1940's.
_____Funny thing, two of the female leads are actresses with boys' names. Daryl Hannah plays "Pris," right? Daryl is a BOY'S name. Just ask Daryl Strawberry. Sean Young is "Rachel" in the movie. Just throw in Sean Penn while you're at it. Just keep 'em away from the photographers, though. See that, it's Hollywood getting cender-genfused.

_____What, you want to throw insults around? Someone must've had a rough night. What, your boyfriend skimp on the lubricant again? Or are you just dry on a regular basis? Sexually-transmitted diseases will do that to a person... It's what got Al Capone--messing up the head above the shoulders and the one below the waist. Go take your medication and maybe wash it down with a cool, tall glass of hydrochloric acid. It'll work wonders, and you won't ever have anal leakage again!
Hah. The inexorable sign that someone has won an internet argument: their opponent purports their homosexuality and insults it. It's especially fulfilling when said opponent is ten years older than him. Enjoy your left hand, bud.
Wow - the first time I heard this i was unbelievably stoned at the tender age of 17. 18 years later and it still hits the spot, Jesus. Now I know what my Dad means when they say "they dont make music like they used to" (apart from Metallica of course, they fucking rock :-))
what a movie master piece. didn't know this song existed until I bought the sound track after the movie came out. two styles blended beautifully here, one being Rudy Vallee and then The Ink Spots. *****stars
When i listen to his beautiful piece of music, i imagine myself on an old room full of old furniture, sitting on a rocking chair smoking a pipe, remembering things. I LOVE this song.

If you had read "Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep"? , the movie is shallow compared.
The book is among the greatest Sci Fi novels ever written.

I stand corrected! Peter Skellern wrote the lyrics, and Don Percival provided the beautiful vocals.
MrUnidyne 2 years ago 2
I thought it was a 40's song too. In fact the style of 2019 is very 1940's inspired. Look at Rachel's clothes and everybody else on Tyrell's.
McLarenMercedes 2 years ago
i think Scott was inspired by film noir detective films of that era
