This shows the real skill of Hancock playing a Fender Rhodes. The mixture with Sylvester is strange however as it almost comes across as two separate pieces of music. Incredible playing nontheless and one of my favourites of all time in the clubs when it was released in 1981. HH was playing alot on disco/soul tracks at the time....remember Makin' Love? Also the excellent album Feets don't Fail me now.....If you've never heard of HH.....buy his music circa 78-82...amazing.
Watashi wa baaga desu. I've had a YouTube account for the longest. And, never noticed that if I didn't stop the player, the playlist would keep rolling.
One of my favorite Herbie Hancock albums. I was a teenager when it came out and I still have the album, though I did buy the CD a few years ago. Tonight's the Night is my favorite.
My dad used to rock this album on the turntable when i was young. This song and "Satisfied with love" are my favorites from the album! I remember reading that Elizabeth Montgomery (Bewitched) was a big fan of Herbie's music and they were friends. He played the music at her funeral in 1995. I wonder if he included any funky numbers like this.

@Apathesis0 They obviously clicked the wrong buttong by accident. It could happen to anyone. I mean, I ALMOST did, and then realised my mistake.

BTW, that's Sylvester who is singing. He RARELY ever sings in his normal voice, usually just in falsetto : )

Classic Herbie at 4:42 how his Rhodes just slides in so smooth and it takes the song into a 180 Timeless
