even if I wasn't DCSE certified having some one come fix your stuff at where ever is nice almost no other company does that you have to pay and send it in. Sorry about your issues but that dosn't always happen hope all is still well.
I have had good luck with Dell but I am also DCSE ceritified and am getting an Aurora myself for the tech support and warrenty so I don't have to mess with asus or msi or gigabyte or whomever I can call Dell and have parts in a day shipped to me and fix it myself. Also is on around a difference on $300 between building my own from newegg or where ever and Dell and for the warrenty and having parts over nite and not waiting weeks to rma a part out is a huge plus,
I get that you had issues but it could be that way with any company not just Dell, and there not the only ones who outsource tech support. For the money there nice and being you can overclock and mod if wanted is nice and not having bios that you can't change any cpu/card settings like hp or asus or whomever. I am not a Dell fan for whoever reads thing and wants to start crap go away no one cares, I am speaking my optition.

I had the same issue with hp. We got an hp touch smart and it died in a month. Took them longer than promised to fix it so we had a complain filed for a replacement desktop jnstead. The manager handing the case was really lazy and had a laid back attitude about helping. In the end we did get and upgrade on specs and the pc came fine too. Basically its hard to trust customer service these days because it is all over seas. I got free shipping though. Dont know if they charge u.
Did you pay for the premium phone support and next day in home service? It's an extra £300 but I hear you get awsome service.
If you didn't pay extra for it thats probably why they couldn't help you out so much. Still its no excuse for messing you around. Beast of a machine though :)
It seems like the problem was not so much with Alienware but with Dell. I'm still gonna get one. I'll probably put up an unboxing and review if any one is interested. It'll be on my second channel "CoolyHaloGmr29528". I'm been thinking it over for a long while and this is looking like what I want. One thing though. Any one with experience upgrading this system. How easy would you say it is? Accessibility for example?
The art of troling stop man realy first you dont look like a gamer secound i orderd one about a monith ago you know never been happer the service the support and the built all solid as a rock
But why not install the blu ray drive? It would take five minutes, and blu ray discs look fantastic. Also, the new Alienware desktops are just awesome. They're beautifully built systems. My guess is that you'll grow to love that PC. Thanks for the video.
@Karmenmovies i dont know how the .uk site works but in the US the tactx keyboard/mouse comes by default and nothing needs to be clicked when you get to the mouse/keyboard selection..unless you wanted a logitech product instead.
I bitched about my alienware m14x i got a free Area 51 alx for same price, i just had to send my m14x back !!! and i got free headsets, and very nice specs. I asked them will it be refurbished, they sad have no worries so yeah. WISH ME LUCK xD
@lMrHankeyl yea maybe some better components, but i really dont think so..check the site and the different build configurations and see if the ALX offers different/better components than the non ALX model, but i doubt that is the case.
@ItalianDC AHH i see thanks and which one would u reccomend for a gamer. Aurora ALX or m14x? Im stumped. I like laptops but thing is im afraid i might over heat it and stuff. Is there anything i can do to un overheat a laptop?
@lMrHankeyl youre definitely on to something about the laptop overheating..if you have the money and want to stick with alienware def go with an ALX/desktop.
i never bought a pc which was liquid cooled before and was thinking of purchasing this model. do i need to do anything like fill water up inside a water tank or anything, or any other kind of maintenence?
im looking at one of these online but am now reluctant....idk what to do about it now, i was also looking into the alienware m17x laptop. do you know if this sort of thing has happend to other people or what?
@SnakesAndGuitars as far as i know not really. only horror stories of customer service which can seem grim and like your going in circles never getting who you need to talk to. this third system is working great though. if you order one new it will be constructed new from the factory and should yield no issues as all components are new and not refurbished. when my first one went 'bad' i got a refurbished one..when it went bad i raised shit, and they put in an order for a new one to be built.
How is the I/O board connected? Is it like a PCI type thing or some sort of internal USB connection or something? Some of those custom-type boards can be manufactured with poor quality assurance or they have really bad software drivers. I'd venture a guess that the weird behavior is a combination of both. A lot of the bad ones are made in mainland China; good stuff tends to come from Taiwan, South Korea, Japan (although their supply is a bit screwed up right now) or the US.
@jrussell11 i mean yes..runs games on great settings..i could use more RAM though as shogun 2 in MASSIVE..and i mean MASSIVE battles on ultra res can get choppy with only 6G's of memory.
@ItalianDC What would you actually say to a potential buyer of either an area 51 or an Aurora alx? I have set my sight on either one...hopefully this is a sure cause for price deduction...hehheheh. But then again its ALIENWARE...a man can still dream. Anyway your advice on a potential buyer.
