@misterman71 This was made in 1992. Consider the equipment available before comparing it to what we can produce today. They were innovators then, and continue to be now.
In retrospective this tune was mre then ahead of its time, it was a sound in itself. Jack Dangers is one of the few electronic artist that can write lyrics that mean something and more then keep up with the changing standards of edm culture. Albums like 99% and Autoimmune are a perfect artistic take on the wild trek that is the history of UK dance music. The samples, the music, the drugs, and just the scene within itself owes alot to this act.
@misterman71 No that's totaly a fact we can prove it with science. Not liking meat beat manifesto makes a big fat gay. And not one of the cool ones who like dance. No the big fat ones who play dungeons and dragons!
@sparkstron73 The movie was Dark Star. It was something of a hippie/sci-fi flick. A spaceship had smart bombs with artificial intelligence who would, due to their intelligence, sometimes question their deployment or lack thereof. Jack has placed samples of it in Drop as well.
A few days ago I watched the great film by Carpenter called "Dark Star", that film ends with an atomic bomb exploding in a space ship. Because due to some program bug the bomb controlling device thinks that it is creating a new universum (see Big Bang). It goes off by saying: "Let there be light". And few days later I started to listen to MBM intensely after having neglected them for 5 or more years: and what do I hear at the end of the clip? The mentioned speech sample.
Radio babylon was one of the most heavily sampled beats from the 90s . His worked is copied alot . He's the master of bass tones / beats . etc etc etc.
This is the era of Jack that has had the most influence on me. The Armed/99/Satyricon period I feel is his best stuff. Though I am also blown away by Actual Sounds + Voicees. I find I am less interested in the Subliminal Sandwhich/At The Center stuff. Though having said that, Jack has always kicked my ass, and I wouldn't be surprised if he blew my mind again in the future. I will always by his stuff.
Saw them open for Nine Inch Nails back in 91-ish. Marcus offered to cut my hair into the same little braids that he had on God OD. What a great memory.
Well..sorry I didn't read the jacket I was too busy going to their shows about 12 times. And I hate to tell you this but the line I stated has MORE meaning than yours...
i mean this in the most tasteful way and i'm attempting to be condescending or insulting whatsoever.... but, i highly recommend that everybody read the lyrics for satyricon. they are absolutely brilliant. It kinda bums me out a bit that jack doesn't vocalize so much anymore because he blows me away
u guys like this. these guys are signed to the same company as manson...

@sparkstron73 The crew of the ship acquired an alien as a "pet." It looks like a big red beach ball with claws.Perhaps that is your killer tomato?
