This really isn't as impressive as it looks. He was up against Robert Lang (laziest forward on the planet), Jason Williams (also lazy and generally incompetent), Kronwall (defensively incompetent at the time) and Schneider (defensively mediocre throughout his career).

Of the people on the ice, only Dan Cleary was any good defensively.

stats.. well.. you need a good team to have good stats.. and if kopitar would play asside with cammalleri and brown, then he would probably have at least 30 points more than he has playing every game with different pair of player in his line.. he has got the skill and talent, just the team is not using his skill to its advantege..
