look US came off going to the final of this tournament with there A team at the Gold Cup (which means zero) Mexico sent there A team becuase they were rested and healthy the US sent a B-/C+ team becuase from june 15- june 28 and the gold cup was 5 days later they simply could not play that so the 5-0 win for mexico means nothing becuase they should have won 3 or 4 to 0 and they won 5-0 so then look in august when we barely lost at azteca 2-1 with a 90 minute winner so it means nothing

@packers256 Keep in mind that the MLS is heavily criticized for not using a traditional calendar (i.e. Late summer/Early Autumn to Spring). Most of the US players play there and can't leave their clubs to play for the US. It would get them more exhausted for their upcoming matches and being the American best the clubs can't afford to have them flop and cost them their future fixtures.
