As child this scene held some importance to me. He descended towards evil. Then he returns and steps through those gates. People welcome him as hero, he stays but then he throws their gratitude away. He proceeds to succeed his father by murdering him and declares the new order. Very cruel and such things must have happened at least hundreds of times during history. It was well interpret to this one.

Arthas lost his soul to Frostmourne. He didn't switch like Anakin, other for a desire for revenge. When he returned in this scene, he had no soul just the command of the Ner'Zhul through Frostmourne. This is also why the lore in WOW doesn't make sense. Arthas was merely an empty shell for Ner'Zhul, there was no way he could take over because his soul was trapped in the blade.

hes nothing like vader/annakin. the sword took him over. the lich king speaks through him. hes not willingly killing everyone. he is a puppet. this is why he kneels and puts his head down. and frostmourne appears whare his face should be. it is ner'zul speaking through him. he never wanted to be evil. it was his pursuit of power which gave the sword/nerzul control over him

just a side note: there is a death knight 1 of the 4 horsemen of naxx. Sir Zeliek. he is under the control of the lichking but maintains the ability to speak freely. arthas is completely controlled. u think of it like that, hes nothing like annakin.

I went all the way to Lordaeron, dismounted infront of the entry gate. Pressed the slow walk button and walked into the Kings' room just like Arthas did. I kneel'd down and was wondering about how it would look like if Terenas was still live. Then I went to Terenas's grave and kneel'd down with respect.

World of Warcraft ended with Arthas's death.

Great were his deeds.. long was his reign.. unthinkable was his death. May the father lie blameless for the deeds of the son. May the bloodied crown stay lost and forgotten".

Quick fact: the two men following behind him are Falric and Marwyn. Falric was a loyal captain of Arthas many years before he found Frostmourne. You can fight (or probably already fought) both of them in Halls of Reflection in World of Warcraft.

Are you talking about arthas?

He turned more and more corrupt due to the sword of froustmourne, and he lost control of himself... If you read up on it, Arthas wasn't in control of his body, Ner'zhul can kill people by taking them over, people of the light just fall un-conscious... That's why when arthas die's, his father has a change of tone and talks to him like his be-loved son.

The whole point of the 'curse' was the thing that turns arthas again the humans...

If you play WoW, go to the throne room in UC, you can see blood stains where the crown landed. Damn the detail blizzard puts in their games is remarkable.
