  • Milton train stations looks NOTHING like that, and its 2012.

  • Hey Soul, how is Hong Kong?

  • You prefer to live in Hong Kong over LA any day soul?

Then go live in Hong Kong to practice what you preach, otherwise we know you lie that you prefer to live in Honh Kong?

  • The following is FOR YOU SOUL not your Town Planning Lecturer in other words if you want others to reply, then don't leave your own comments, simple..

You mean the town planning brochures put out by The Local Councils like The Council that David is a Councillor of?

As we (well I know) Brisbane Council town planning brochures is not what the community wants and just because you have large towers doesn't mean the area around them won't decay.

  • I had the same views as my lecturer even before i started the course this year. Sprawl = bad. Density = good. Simple as that.

I'd prefer to live in Hong Kong over LA any day.

  • Maybe you claim same views as your lecturer, but they are not here to let us know they said.

But Sprawl = bad. Density = good.

So I guess your Education was a complete waste of money soul?

  • No, just simplifying it for the masses. ;)

I shall agree to disagree with your views.

  • After all this time Soul especially with the ducking and weaving you disagree with my views?

Good, pity you still haven't answered my questions?

  • No thumbs soul, oh scare of getting too many Thumbs down?

  • Keeping quiet can only mean you accept my reality soul?

In that having towers doesn't mean the areas around won't be in decay or town planning brochures put out by Brisbane Council is one sided?

  • My Town Planning Lecturer would say otherwise.

  • So soul are you getting other people to speak for you even those you were the one replying?

In other words look at reality, before leaving comments again.

  • Why do some people who put up video's don't put up thumbs up or down?

Scare that there would be more thumbs down?

  • Oh look a 100 story building?

  • So sticking a very large number of people above is ok?

  • Maybe you should read over some town planning brochures before commenting... Cities start to decay and die out when they sprawl outwards. Density is the key to a better urban environment, ESPECIALLY around transport nodes.

  • What a lot of hot air to squeeze more people into thin air without planning for more and better public transport.

  • better than sticking people out in suburban housing estates, clogging up roads and isolating people.

  • I wonder what will happen to the 4X sign. I'm sure people will not want a blaring red light shinning into their windows. I genuinely wonder if they will throw it away or it will go up somewhere else.

  • No financial stake. I just want Brisbane to become smarter in the way we use our available land. I think that it will enhance the factory and inject life into the local area. Perhaps if you read more about the guidelines of this project you will find that there is a ban on all future residents from complaining... a bit like the ban they currently have in the valley. Google > "Milton Fourex brewery residents banned from complaining"

  • I believe they could do better. Ive seen all too often transit oriented developments botched. They have no guidelines on how to do what they want done other than courting land development companies.

  • Ever been to elephant rock at Currumbin Beach? used to be unique and beautiful, now a surf shop bigger than the giant boulder sits next to it. it look small and gaudy now. urban development commands the direction of human interaction and community cohesion derives from community pride which derives from community historical awareness. It is a well known rule of thumb that you do not construct a massive development next to a unique attraction. I think you have a financial stake in this project.

  • Sustainable urban development meets a multitude of criterion and not just one or two.

  • Lol, oh really? It so happens I grew up in New York City and Boston my friend. Moreover, I happen to be an Urban planner working in an engineering firm. The North bank development effectively takes away the publics right to enjoy the riverside. It promotes inequality. As for the Milton development, it disregards the local heritage and overlooks the natural topography. In comparison to the XXXX factory, it causes it to look cheap, and tacky.

  • The definition of eyesore varies greatly depending on personal opinion, however the importance of a TOD development in this location will far outweigh any local light industry/warehouses which certainly in my mind isn't classifies as heritage.

  • Very good, but Milton will be an eyesore and NorthBank stupid.

  • You obviously have a very suburban frame of mind then.
