This is one of those movies that i had a ton of criticism for. For one thing why didn't he try to roll out of it. For two things why was there no powder to land in immediately after a snowstorm. Also what kind of a ski resort closes during the week, and if any do, i'm certain that people stay there during the week for maintenance. And the wolves, really?!?! Also the wires aren't sharp enough to rip through gloves like that. I could go on and on, but i'm sure anyone who's seen movy rdy nos shit.

..A, The sheer impact of dropping from 100ft (it's not 60ft) would break your bone/s however you land.

B, if he'd jumped towards the trees he wouldn't have been able to cling onto their branches or whatever due to hypothermia already setting in - he wouldn't have been strong enough to cling on. Therefore he’d have hit the ground, no doubt breaking his bones.

C, At that point, trying to swing on the rope in those extreme conditions - snow an’ all he’d have most likely fallen.

However if you do get stuck you can use a belt, clothing, a strap, or just your hands to shimmy yourself down to the next tower, climb over to the ladder and crawl down. Also ive never seen a chair accumulate that much ice, at least not in the west.
