  • MERRY CHRISTMAS NO MATTER WAT FAITH U BELIEVE IN, WISHING U LOVE PEACE AND NUFF BLESSINGS, FROM CANADA....

  • Christmas is all about the birth of the Saviour and messiah, Jesus Christ. The date of His birth is not known but was calculated as close to the end of the year, thus Dec 25 was chosen by the church and what pagan festival close to this date was ended at that time as all have embraced Christianity and beleived in the truth of the coming of God! So Christmas is not about Santa or any pagan festival..but all about Jesus Christ!

  • @genesisworld2000 Well I'm doing History at University and for a while I studied the Celtic Church. I can tell you, from my own research outside the University (I'm what is called a Christian Buddhist) and from several other Christians I know, and from my studies inside the University, that it is you who is miss-informed.

Christmas did infact work its way into Christianity through Paganism, it happened during the conversion. The Pagans kept their festivals. A similar thing happened...

  • @tj4234 *continued* ... with the Vikings, who were also Pagans who converted into Christianity.

The Vikings kept their old rituals as well.

Birthdays are another thing that comes from Paganism.

  • @tj4234 That's not really acurate. What are not against Christianity, the cultures and practices could be used as Christianity embraces all cultures (that do not contridict the true faith). When Pagans embraced Christianity, they could keep certain practices and cultures that are non-satanic, not against the teaching of the church, etc. birthdays are not a pagan festival. It is celebrated by nearly everyone in all cultures. So don't see why you must insist that birthdays are from paganism.

  • @tj4234 TO BE HONEST WITH YOU. CHRISTIANS CELEBRATE CHIRSTMAS TO COMMOMERATE THE BIRTH OF THE MESSIAH, JESUS CHRIST. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CELEBRATING PAGAN FESTIVIAL. WHEN CHRISTIANITY COMES, WHAT CULTURES ARE AGAINST THE RELIGION ARE REJECTED, WHAT DO NOT GO AGAINST OR CONTRADICT CHRISTIANITY ARE KEPT. CLUTURE IS NOT RELIGION. IF A CHRISTMAS TREE IS GOOD AS IT REPRESENT LIFE (GREEN IN SNOW), MEANS LIFE, THEN NO HARM TO USE IT FOR CHRISTMAS. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS CHRISTIAN BUDDHIST.

  • @genesisworld2000 If you think that Christian Buddhism is impossible, then you obviously don't know much about either of them. Because the religions are very similar, almost identical infact. Even Jesus taught Meditation, it's called Self Centering Prayer in Christianity.

  • @tj4234 Not to be insulting, but your understanding of both of these religions is extremely limited. It sounds like you based it entirely on something you heard on the History Channel.

  • @imyoursuperior2 Buddhism, Christianity or Paganism?

  • @tj4234 FIRSTLY i think you are confused. In Christianity there are also meditation...yes self centering prayer and chanting. These are never from Buddhism. Of course all religions have some similarity like some using candles, some have bells, some have hands raised up when praying ,etc but it is never the same. Christianity established not by humans but by Jesus Christ, the Messiah, God became Man. Alsoyou cannot have two masters, either you accept Jesus or Buddha!

  • @genesisworld2000 Buddha is no ones master though, and the message they preach is the same (except Buddha does not actually mention a creator God, when asked if there was a creator, his reply was that knowledge of what created the universe was irrelevant when there are other matters that need fixed first (like world hunger for example). And I never once said that meditation came from Buddhism, Meditation is far far older than Buddhism.

Buddhist Christian's also generally take Jesus to be a...

  • @tj4234 Buddha is now a god and worshipped by Buddishts in the world. Even Buddha is only a human- as he had claimed so but now some ppl worship him as god!! Thats why do not use Buddist Christian- for there is no such term and only causes confusion. Meditation has long been part of Christians- so use it as Christian meditation.Even if some practices could be associated with early buddihsm practices. But have been modified for church use.

  • @genesisworld2000 Buddha is not worshipped as a God by anyone, because the statues represent everyone's inner kindness. By taking refuge in the 3 jewels, the part where you take refuge in the Buddha is like saying thank you to a classroom teacher, you are not worshipping the classroom teacher, you are merely thanking them for parting with their knowledge.

The statues are used as a meditation object, you need something to fix your concentration on to meditate, which is why mediators appear...

  • @genesisworld2000 *continued* to stare at nothing. This is why the statues are built bigger and bigger, it is so that more people can use them as a meditation focus. You tend to find them at temples, or at places such as the Lumbini Gardens (where the last teaching Buddha is rumoured to have been born), where many many people meditate. There are two Buddha statues in my Bedroom, the slightly bigger one I often use when I meditate.

  • @tj4234 when u mediate close your eyes and picture Jesus dying for you on the cross...you may invite the Holy Spirit to enlighten you with God's wisdom and knowlege...no need buddha statues...

  • @genesisworld2000 When you meditate with your eyes closed you are usually focusing on something internal. Some people visualise themselves helping other people or something. I have 3 ones I do. Counting the breath, love meditation (where you imagine someone (anyone) and send them the feeling of love), and one where you are sitting in a room filled with smoke.

The last one (the smoke one), you breath in the smoke (symbolises world suffering) and breath out light (symbolises world peace).

  • @tj4234 okay,,,but mediations could have different form but do not end up fantasising...if you mediate ands can improve your healthy and faith in God then okay..good...

  • @genesisworld2000 *continued again* I have two Buddha statues in my bedroom, the slightly bigger and more ornate one I use during meditation. Other than that I keep them on my shrine, but that is mostly because it makes the shrine look more 'pretty'. But it is not a Buddhism shrine, it is a multi cultural shrine, because I keep things from other religions on it, including the Bible. As far as I can see, there is nothing Satanic about Buddhism. The term 'Zen' itself means Meditation.

  • @tj4234 The problem is that you do not know the real truth. Buddishts worshipped Buddha as a god. Thats the wrong thing for God the Almighty said you must not have other gods....so u keeping other gods or religions with u is like trying to pleased all gods>?>>..yet the real God, the Creator u have overlooked.

  • @genesisworld2000 But as I have stated on previous occasions, Buddhists do not worship the Buddha as a God.

Also as you have stated it is OK to take other things from other religions that do not conflict with the 'truth'. I have said nothing of my own views on the Christian God.

How do you know what the real truth is anyway? Putting faith in whether or not the Bible is the exact truth is like blind leading the blind. That is same for all religions, including Buddhism.

  • @tj4234 For your infomation, I have Buddisht friends & they worshipped Buddha as a god. (Despite Buddha himself (from India) said he is no god). You seem to be 'caught up' in a dileama or crossroad. De Truth will set you free from all tht oppresses you!. Listen to tis song "Mary's Boy Child..' & listen to de lyrics....God has come, de Messiah, the Word of God became flesh & dwell among us...de truth He brings, so we know de truth...for the Messiah opens up our blind eyes to see from the heart.

  • @tj4234 *continued* Bodhisattva rather than the son of God. This is generally because no one knows for sure if he is or is not the son of God. However you do get creationist Christians who believe in God and believe Jesus is the son of God, but are still Buddhists. Statistically, 90% of Zen Buddhist Masters in the UK are Christian Pastors. My own beliefs on whether or not Jesus is the son of God are irrelevant. I prefer to look at the message of Jesus, things such as 'love thy neighbour'

  • @tj4234 YOU MUST BE JOKING. 2.2 Billion Christians know that Jesus Christ, the Word of God made Flesh (vecame like us) and he comes from God. He said I & My Father is One. He is the First and the Last, the Begining and the End, the Alpha & the Omega...Jesus came so that whoever beleive in the Truth will be saved. And the Truth is that God is Love. He came to save sinners.Do not get confused by mixing Christianity & Buddhism! Seek the Truth and the Truth will set you free.

  • Love this song!! :)

  • Gr8 song. (Y)

  • jesus is the greatest gift for all the world merry christmas

  • @brentbittern I totally agree with you!! :D

  • The 1 person who rated this "dislike" isn't getting anything for Christmas!!!!!

  • diggin it :)

  • Now is season of Advent, prepare yourself for Christmas.....where hope, peace, joy and love comes...and the saviour appearing once again in our lives....waiting patiently for His arrival....

  • @genesisworld2000 No offence intended, but although the song lyrics suggest otherwise, Christmas actually has nothing to do with either Jesus or Christianity.

The festival known as Christmas is actually the Pagan festival for the Winter Solstice. It worked it's way into Christianity through the Celtic Church (when the Celtic Pagan's converted to Christianity and took their festivals). The celebration for Jesus's birth should actually be around Easter.

    cool song though.

  • @tj4234 I think you are wrongly been informed. Christmas means Christ Mass, and is all about Jesus Christ the Messiah. Therefore Christmas is about Jesus and Christianity as it marked the birht of Christ into the world. This song is cool...listen to the lyrics..it is about Jesus Christ! Do not mixed up Pagan festival with Christmas.Christmas was never arounf Easter. Easter is about Jesus rising from the dead, after Good Friday. Are you saying Jesus born & die and rose all at same time at Easter?

  • @genesisworld2000 I also know that you never mentioned the words Christianity or Jesus, but you sort of hinted to me that Christmas was about Jesus. However as I stated, Christmas is not, and never has been, about Jesus.

  • @tj4234 De pagan festival was never taken in whole by Christmas. De timing was, as it was found out tht de Birth of Christ is close to tis time of de year (thought the actual date was not really known), so Christmas marking Christ's birth was fixed on Dec 25. Yet do not associate pagan with Christianity. Even in any religion, uses bells like in Hinduism and buddishm,.so do not say Christianity uses bells..they are from Hindu or Buddisht., since Christians uses bells,.Hope you got the message

  • 22 days..... x'mas na

  • @missFY1 jesus is the greatest gift to recieve in the world merry christmas

  • this is my favorite christmas song! :DD

  • You've heard Bing Crosby sing "White Christmas." This song is the culture of a black Christmas.

  • love this song so so much -.-

  • ilove this song because is nerly X-mas!!!!!!!!!

  • this one is my favourite christmas song :)

  • wow we sing this song with our class in chorus live for all parents its nice to remember when i was a child ^.^

  • the only christmas song i really like

  • @luky123147 Really? Are we talking traditional christmas, or songs done actually about christmas?

(the diffrence is for example "jingle bells," while sung at christmas, is actually not a christmas song but a winter song, orrigonally written by a man for thanksgiving as it was in fact snowing at that time where he lived. On the other hand, songs such as "the little drummer boy" and "we three kings" are actual christmas songs as they relate within the lyrics to the holiday)

  • Wonderful song. "Marry" christmas is technically correct. Merry and Marry differ in the old english language in which merry means joy and happiness (to make merry=to be happy and to celebrate) while Marry was baisicaly the same but evolved diffrently from the mix og german and french (and some spanish) that became english. its the same and correct.
