@galenmw It was filmed at the end of Av. Diagonal in Barcelona at a place called Parc dels Auditoris. It is an interesting spot with that giant structure and expansive open concrete areas.

I think the song is more about the loss of a loved one and the connection you feel with them even though they're gone. The little dog, IMO, symbolizes or has replaced whoever the man lost - someone who takes care of him and who he takes care of. The "angels" seem to act through the dog - the lottery ticket - and I think strengthens this explanation. The person he's missing is still there and looking out for him.
