This speech really helped me get through my friend's death, who died very young. If you have never experienced someone your age that you were close to dying, I cannot begin to tell you how much of a heartbreaking experience it can be. He and I were in an improv troupe together for years, and after he died, I came upon this clip. It really helped me to put things in perspective and realize that even though my friend left early, I should celebrate his life rather than mourn his death.

Wow, alot of people really don't get it. They were very good friends. Cleese and the rest of monty python were grieved offcourse by the loss of a good friend. It must have taken an enormous strength for Cleese to say farewell to a good friend, in the spirit of monty python, while feeling very, very sad on the inside.
