Its none of those things Im afraid. You are probably thinking back to what happened to Steve Irwin. That was a freak accident. The firs person to be killed by a stingray in a very long time. They are normally very peaceful creatures, small mouths and very curious of humans. If you treat them properly and dont do anything to frighten them, they are perfectly safe to swim with.
Guys if you were to come here you wouldn't have to be worried about them stinging you for two reasons. One. Their stingers are clipped. Two. They're tamed so that they are used to human activity. Just don't be a dumbass and try to lift it out of water.
Who is the ridiculous that dislike this beautiful encounter, dont be irrational or ridiculous, the stingray never attack humans, only if you hurt or threat them
i was there once some fat guy nearly drowned he didn't know how to swim and panicked so my dad had to drag him to the boat then someone lost a wedding ring and my dad found it super dad
How cool wud it be if someone got stung to death by one of those things? How excitin can it be jus touchin them at least then u got a real vacation story
lol i went there way back when i was a kid, i fed a big stingray a fish, and it sucked up my hand too, but it didnt hurt because it has small, round stubs of teeth, it just felt like someone had squeezed my hand tightly
stingray's stings are for defense only. They are not naturally aggressive animals. And, they actually do not have full control of tired stings, when they get agitated, the "flip up their tail's and hopeful strikes the aggressor.
Used to be able to dive for conch and have the guide cook up some awesome ceviche type of a dish. Ron Ebanks."Abanks" in the movie "The Firm"Grand Cayman was true paradise in 92.

id like to go there *sadly* =( i mean =) =) can i stop did he leave *yes*said the bitch falling off a clift ok =( look like ur hurt u look like ur gonna die well good luck with that bye hobo.
I have done this in the Grand Caymans too! These creatures are very friendly and literally rub up against you as they swim by. You can lift them partially out of the water and they don't sting anyone!
They didn`t. These are wild stingrays. Its just that they are around people since years ago, they first came there to collect fish from fishing boats, so they won`t harm people.
i'v been here. they dont remove the barbs. the rays are just not aggressive at all. there are SO many rays there it would be a nearly impossible job anyway.
I remember doing this, it was so fun! It just so happened that it was right after steve irwin died, so in alot of my pictures i was covering my heart with my arms lol.
back in the day, fisherman used to use this sandbar as a cleaning point for their catch before their return home....it attracted stingrays, parrot fish, etc. and people just started domesticating them....
@HappyBunnyPoster1 Your not the only one. when i went there i had to stay still while floating because i was worrying about stepping on them or kicking them accidentally :)
@HappyBunnyPoster1 I actually went on this myself and I have to say those sting rays expect the people that go bc they feed them squid so the sting rays are calm. Those are also southern non-stinging sting rays, they have stingers but dont ues them unless backed into a corner. :D
I just returned from Grand Cayman--and posted my sting ray video. My husband and I took the boat trip that leaves from The Grand Caymanian Resort. We were the first to arrive at the site. Had the rays all to ourselves at 8:00 a.m. What a place!
i'm heading off to the caymans in 2 weeks. i was wondering which boat company you used to go to sting-ray city. i understand that there are several different boats that head out there at one time, and was looking for the best deal. any thoughts?
Touching the stingrays skin is like petting a dolphin. Their skin feels like rubber. And their like little puppies, when you put squid in your hand they'll follow you around. It's really cool and im really glad to call Cayman my home.
i was there they are so beutiful

iv come up with 3 conclusions of why these people are swimming with stinger rays.
1. photo shop
2 . theres no stinger on the stinger ray
3. they are all high and have completly lost it
