Showed up at an off road outing with an Iltis. The LandCruiser and LandRover brigade was just smirking. Until they got stuck with their lifted, kitted-up expedition vehicles, where the bog standard Iltis just went through. It is not for nothing that it won twice the Paris-Dakkar and was the starting point for the Audi Quattro. Brilliant little cars. Crap on the road, but off road incredible.
we got some crazy terrain in Canada. around me, on th north shore lake superior the ground can change from dirt to rock crawling, to mud, to sand and back to mud again all in an 1/8 mile... i need mattracks
lol the iltis was built for the Canadian Military by bombardier between 1984 and 1986 and served over 20 years and is now being enjoyed by a few hard core fans (including me) who want to keep them running :)
@zestyguy87 is that so, i heard a guy in england put a million km's on his range rover, and in that time he had lost his air suspension and power steering hows that for breaking down. Your ford and chevy were built to carry your bails of hay and pig shit and then break. and a 4L jeep doesent have enough power compared to a v8 longblock
